Welcome to the family, Jazz. Hope you survive the experience.
Anya's schedule was a nightmare and there were more meetings and appointments in it than there were hours in a day, but she had made some time to head to New York and meet the new family member. To say she was surprised was a bit of an understatement. A sister dropping in from another dimension was unexpected, not to mention a full sister at that.

Anya was curious. It was a Stark trait and so when Mom said there would be a lunch with the new sister with Misha, Anya of course cleared some time. She wanted to meet this sister. For a change she was running early. She arrived at Big Nick's and grabbed a booth.

Misha dropped into the seat across from her. "Can you believe it? What are we, secret Summers?"

"I'm gonna tell Nick you said that, just as soon as he figures out what dorky means," Misha teased. He asked the waiter for a beer, refraining from adding 'the usual' to the order. "Have you met this one yet?"

Anya stuck her tongue out at him. "Nope. Been way to busy changing the world and all to do anything." She hadn't seen her boyfriend in two weeks because of her hectic schedule. "Mom gave me the rundown though."

Mom hadn't been around much when she was growing up, but Mom had been there. She didn't walk away like Jazz's mother did.

She took Natasha's advice and wore some of Anya's old clothing. Aside from her sister being taller then her the clothing fit perfectly and by the time she found something that she liked she was already late. She tried to hurry as much as she could but there was only so much she could do in New York traffic. Once the car stopped outside of Big Nick's and rushed inside. She looked around and spotted Anya and Misha, she took a calming breath and walked over to them using the fact that they were family to help her thought the fact that they were strangers to her. When she made it to the table she smiled and almost muttered. "Hello, I'm Jadzia, you must be Misha and Anya. It's a pleasure to meet you." It came out sounding practised which it was, numerous times on the car ride here.

Misha made a comical face and got to his feet to shake Jazz' hand in turn. "Princess Brat thinks she's funny. I'm Misha. Welcome to the world."

She shook Anya's hand and then Misha's taking a seat when everyone was shaked out. She didn't remember being told they called each other by those nicknames but she would remember them for future use. "Nice to meet you both." She gave a small smile. She now was at a loss for what to talk about so she was going to let them lead.

"How are you settling in? Landing in a new dimension can't be easy." Anya flagged down the waitress so they could get some food. Anya was starving and needed some meat. She suspected her assistant was substituting meat out for other things in her diet.

"Was it a real crash landing or did you just find yourself here?" Misha was curious as to why people ended up in their dimension and he knew of no one who disappeared from this world into another one.

"It's not so bad. I miss my home but it's interesting to see how things work here compared to how they work there." She looked at a menu and saw that there were a few things that she recognized like coke-a-cola and turkey burgers with sweet potato fries. "It was odd. I didn't fall as much as found myself on the Avengers lawn. It wasn't where I thought I was going to end up." She gave a tight smile. "It's nice all the same."

"Are you going to join the B-team? As in the Avengers. We all know the Thunderbolts are the A-team." Anya asked. "At least it's not the C-team." She stuck her tongue out at her brother.

"There's every hope you'll find your way," Misha said encouragingly, "and until then we're here to help. But don't listen to Anya here. She's still jealous that she's not a mutant and she can't join the real A-team."

She liked how they seemed to treat the super teams like sports teams and she thought she would attempt to play along. "I'm not a mutant and I'm on the A-Team." She hoped they saw the humour in it.

Anya laughed. "Keep dreaming that the Avengers are the A-team." The waitress brought some menus. Anya ordered a diet soda. She needed to get some of the blood out of her caffeine stream.

At least her humor was going over well and has gotten better since she had arrived here. "To me it will always be the A-Team." She quickly ordered a turkey burger and what ever clear soda they had. "You can team hop?" They didn't have teams where she was from so they were foreign to her.

"It depends," Anya said. "The Avengers had a Defender change teams for a bit, but eventually she went back to the Defenders. I moved from the Avengers to the Thunderbolts when I formed the Thunderbolts."

Misha ordered his heart attack special - double patty burger, extra bacon, extra cheese, lots of fries, more beer.

"It also depends on your particular skill or ability. I could join the Avengers, but not the Defenders. I'd be little use to a team of gods and sorceresses.

"And there's some loyalty involved. Anya and her dad are Avenger-biased, me and my dad are X-Men based because we're mutants. X-Men aren't public like the others."

"My dad-Tony was an Avenger too. He always talked about to good old days. He talked about some of the other teams they had on his earth but not with the same fondness." She felt as if he was fishing for some information. "Neither parent had an X-gene to pass down and I didn't develop one so I'm powerless to. I do however have a power suit." The thought of Juno made her smile. "Sorry for the questions about teams, we didn't need them."

"Things talking back isn't always bad right?" She hoped not at least. "So where I come from fighting the baddies were taken down by our police force so I have no clue of what my suit should be able to do. All suggestions and pointers would be greatly appreciated." They were a super powered police force but still the cops.

It was clear this was an ongoing discussion between them. "The car should not demand her own credit accounts or tell me she needs new seat covers to match her eyelashes."

"Do mutants not apply to the police force here?" This world was so much different then her own. "You have a higher human population here too and sometimes I forget that."

"I didn't realize it was that bad. The human population back home is less then two percent. There was never any real worry about hate towards mutants and metas." The fact that mutants have to hide here mad her feel sad and she didn't mean to bring down the happy dinner table vibe.

"Here it's the opposite," Anya said. "Mutants make up about 1 or 2 percent of the population. Numbers are growing, but not that quickly."

Anya grinned. "It's a great family. Crazy, but great."

"It's slowly changing," Anya said. "Unfortunately there's no good way to speed it up. Life would be easier if we could speed things up. I'd have the entire world on clean energy if I could do that."

"Boys and Girls Clubs of America," Misha said. "I coach a softball team. Stark Inc. sponsors us." It wasn't changing the world, but he enjoyed it and found a lot of satisfaction in working for kids.
