Hal has at least a concussion. He'll have an eye swollen shut, and his nose is a bloody mess. Likewise, there's probably some broken ribs, but the worst damage was to his head. Against most foes, a sound tactical decision - Hal just doesn't need non-addled brains that much.
e swings downward viciously, bashing downward with a powerful downward swing, then another, and another. There's little sign of intelligence in his eyes, and only enough sense to not go for the head with his axe, just trying to make his foe stop moving.
