Magic and firearms: How could this possible go wrong? (Martin)
She wasn't entirely sure how she had made a deal with the little sorcerer Martin to teach him guns, but Frances liked to made good on promises. Oh no wait, it was for the magic arrows that had saved her ass, that was it. Anyway, she had to be make good and since no one was trying to kill/enslave/genderswap/veganify the world (yet, it was only ten in the morning), today was a decent day to do so.

Frances was at the outdoor shooting range, at the safety line with a few different examples for Martin and decided to warm up a little with a handgun and stationary target while she waited.

He is very lucky he's charming and a kid, this amount of power-snobbery has started cantina-fights. Orlen would have a bruise by now. "Well if we all could do magic, maybe we wouldn't have just a preferences for guns. Magic looks pretty cool too."

She laughs and shakes her head. "Let's be honest, we both will probably need a milkshake after teacher!Frances."

Nearly on cue he gives her one of his charming and innocent kid smiles for seeming to get his point. There was not one part of his life that wasn't affected or touched by magic, and not necessarily in positive ways either, by default nearly he had to consider magic the greatest. Some therapist might consider it a psychological defence mechanism, but really it was just easier to live with some things if one considered their power the best thing. "Maybe! It is very cool! I can't teach you any but you can have the magic arrows, that's close enough."

"Maybe even two milkshakes!" Hey, he wasn't going to give up on trying to get extra.

Well, totally absorbed in the extraordinary, meet the remarkably ordinary in the world of the supers. But his love of magic was honest, and that made it hard to be irritated at the little guy. "The magic arrows have been awesome, I think I can handle that range of magic, just fine, Pip."

She gives him an mildly exasperated look, like she's sure this will drive them to drink, in many ways. "We'll see. Don't need you being sick after a few hours in the hot sun."

Sadly, parts of the world of the supers was quite ordinary and dull. Shame. Though he did like the action parts and the bad guys. And the car chases while all suited up, those were the best. "Oh good! I've been having fun making them."

"I'm not a baby," he says looking a little put out. "I can handle milkshakes."

"Some of my teammates have been impressed with their capabilities, and sooo don't trust I will use them for good all the time." She winks because really, portal arrows make grabbing munchies from the kitchen while in the rec room so much easier.

She lifts an eyebrow and smirks. "Clearly you've never trained in the sun all afternoon and then pounded down a Frosty only to have it come back up. Well, experience brings wisdom and all that."

"Why would you ever do that?" He sounds genuinely surprised. "That'd be no fun at all. Some people can be so silly..." He shakes his head at her teammates, tutting at them for seriously thinking one would only use things like magic arrows seriously.

"If you say so then," he shrugs.

"Yup. I make life interesting," she agrees rather proudly. "We see enough crud and doom in the world, a little life-lightening is good for the soul."

"Speaking of, let's get some celebratory You-Didn't-Shoot-Frances-or-the Marshal drinks," she offers and strips down the weapons for their respective cases quickly.

"That's true, people should listen to you more," he nods sagely. Because Frances had the best ideas.

"I wouldn't shoot you! On purpose. But milkshakes it is!" He grins and scrambles to his feet and puts his hat back on while she cleans up. "Thank you Frances, it's fun learning new things that are fun too. Guns are more fun than I thought! Maybe next we can try arrows..."
