It was quiet around the institute, so Fred took this as a moment to renew his supply of sustenance from the kitchen.

"Really now?" Fred asked, standing up a little straighter on those animal-like legs, clearly taller than he usually seems. "Does your body spontaneously shift at random times? Do you wake up in the morning with arms you can't properly function with? Do parts of your very mind rage against your saner impulses?" Fred asked evenly, but there was a definite hint of anger in there. "So many mutants bemoan the fact that they cannot control their abilities, but fewer really understand the constant possibility that your body will act of its own accord before you even realize what's happening. " Fred closes his eyes and takes a breath. "But I will not pretend my situation is unique in all mutantdom."

Still leaning against the counter, Vlad surveyed Fred calmly, the rise in height and tone not phasing him. "No, never said I couldn't control my abilities, nor was I bemoaning them. Just saying that it's a good thing that you're equipped, in terms of knowledge at the very least, to handle things that arise out of your mutation," he said simply as he went back to slicing bread. "We're limited in how much we can understand by our own experiences. So while mutants can understand each others situations better than most, we're never going to 'really understand' anyone's because of how diverse our situations all are. I can't fully grasp your situation, nor you mine I guess, but that's true of anyone not just mutants right?" He looked back up at Fred with a slight but still friendly smile. The guy had his points, Vlad would never assume he knew anything about the guy's situation, he barely knew much about Fred really.

	"Is it hard to figure out what would fall under that? Sometimes the appearance relates to the ability but the special condition thing is always a problem. 	"I..suppose so," Fred said somewhat tentatively. "But yes, it is research I'd rather not share en masse with the institute's scientists. 	Vlad can't help but laugh at the expression he got out of Fred. "C'mon, there's clothes to cover up anything to prevent that sort of thing, and if you really want there's some image inducers Uncle Kurt used to use.
