Business is taken care of. Her report was neatly filed with SHIELD, touching on all the important parts. Nick had, indeed, told her to get back here when she could. She'd told him, honestly, she'd do her best.
She'd left notes for the people who'd called her family, but she could never quite accept as such, explaining the situation, and visiting who she could.
She'd thanked Xavier and Sage in person, and said her limited goodbyes at the X-Men's school.
It was only when she got back to the kitchen that her resolve broke again, with the smell of fresh baked bread and the warmth of the mansion.
When Sammy shows up, she's still a little red eyed, but otherwise back together, but looking a little dishevelled from all the flying, but mostly ready to go.
