Monthly Family Dinner
Misha almost opted out of the family dinner, but a) he didn't have a note from Saint Peter and b) Anya probably already knew he turned another armor suit into a cracked sculpture. The way he was going through suits, two this year alone, any income he might get in the future from the Renn Tech stock was probably earmarked to pay for them. Besides, he owed Nick a monkey dance and Mom an update on what was going on.

He showed up with chocolates for Mom and Anya, a bunch of bananas for Nick, and the damaged armor in a duffel.

"Yes, Mom, you're too late," Anya said agreeing with her older brother. "It's in the handbook that we have to be bad influences on him."

"Busy," she answered her father. "I have more meetings than hours in the day. Sunny, the wonderful godsend he is, keeps my life organized and somehow manages to squeeze in time into my schedule for Buck and for family. We have about a dozen new contracts for ZPEMs coming. The factory in Genosha is almost complete. I have some talks with the ESA and NASA coming up to talk about integrating ZPE with their propulsion systems. I suspect that if they go well I'll have other space agencies interested. I just got done writing new database software and it's going to hit the market soon. Gates is still after my OS. I just bought myself a new place her in New York for when I'm in town and I suspect I have some armor to repair for my brother if reports are at all accurate. Buck also mentioned taking me camping soon, which we all know how well that's going to go."

"Misha, Anya's a busy young woman. She's got a lot on her plate and I don't think fixing your armor is the thing to add to that." Tony said evenly.

Now was the moment he'd been dreading but, suddenly, it felt like the best idea in ages. It felt right.

"Misha, I think it's time you stopped wearing that armor...and started wearing a new set of armor.

I think it's time /you/ became Iron Man." Tony told him.

Tony let the banter continue for a moment, grinning at Eddie as he said he wanted to be Iron Man.

"I designed a suit for you before you were born but your mother didn't want you wearing it before you could walk." Tony teased.

Tasha had threatened to shoot him if he gave Eddie armor. He was pretty sure she was joking but then Tasha had shot him before. Best not to play around with that.

Then he looked at his family.

"Look, you guys have been really kind not to point it out in the last few years but...I'm getting older. I used to think I could be Iron Man forever but I didn't exactly start young in this. Not only that...but it gets harder to recover from the tougher stuff the older I get. I think it's time for me to take a more behind-the-scenes role and apply myself to bettering the world without my armor." Tony told them.

He then looked to Misha.

"Misha, you know the armor. You've done a great job with yours and you're Anya's brother. There aren't a lot of people I'd trust with this. I think you'd make a good Iron Man, if you're willing to take it up. I hope this won't cause any friction between you and Logan, though. I don't want to start any issues." Tony told him.

"I can also help with the tech support, Misha. You'll have access to all of my latest designs and we can work out any extras you think the suit might need." Tony told him.

"I need to be up-front with you, Misha. That armor comes with a lot of enemies. If you want to back out, there's no hard feelings. But you could be shot at just because you're wearing it and you won't even know why. I just want you to be aware." he said.

	That got a blink. "I've been shot at for worse reasons. I'll just add those to the ones I already have." Red Room, Weapon X, the Hand, it was quite a fan club already. A few more would hardly be a blip on the horizon. "I'm not backing out. Nick may want it when he's older, and that's fine. It's his legacy. Until then, I'll keep it alive and active." "Then I think we're in good shape, Iron Man." Tony said, offering a hand to Misha.

It felt odd calling someone else Iron Man but Tony also felt like a weight had lifted from his shoulders as well. He'd done his time and it was time to let the younger generation make their mark in the same way that he, Logan, Steve and the others had. He'd miss the old days but he had the memories.

Besides, his wife was smoking hot and his kids were geniuses. When Tony Stark thought of his legacy, it really wasn't about Iron Man.

It was about his family.
