Flashback: Shield: Month One
 Working in Shield's intelligence division was a lot like his old job at the CSA, but it was a lot more frantic and hands-on. Not that he had any problems with that, but it wasn't a smooth transition when he transferred to ShIELD. He had a pack of files on hand, a list of various infamous mind-controllers. His superior wanted a comparative analysis of how their different abilities worked. While Josh could tell you what they did, and maybe even a little on how they did it, but the higher-ups wanted a more scientific analysis. So they sent him down to the genetics department to meet with a new, but talented doctor who recently joined the department. What was the name? Jessen? Yeah, that was it.

Josh made his way the lab and gave a knock on the door.

"You are my favourite agent right now," she laughed. "It is very eerie. I can promise you that if I'm up and vaguely functional in the morning, it's only because I just pulled an all-nighter and it hasn't hit me yet."

"Oh? How many agents do you know?" Careful, Hoskins. Don't get too into this girl. Remember what happened the last time you dated a coworker. Josh mentally winced before answering. "I'll keep that in mind, Dr. Jessen."

"Admittedly not too many. Mostly higher ups or whoever they send running here for errands," she smirked at him, since he was clearly in the latter category. "And a few powered agents they've sent to me so I can update their files. But all in all you've made the top of the list in the first meeting. Congrats, have some coffee."

"A woman after my own heart. Thank you." He accept the coffee and his thoughts started rolling. Seriously, she's smart, funny, and pretty, maybe it couldn't hurt. No! You want what happened with Janet to happen on a scale the level of a Shield Division? ..practicality wins out.

She flipped through the files, scanning the relevant parts quickly. "What exactly are you looking for? Strongest effect, longest lasting, most subtle symptoms, or something similar?"
