Natasha danced one dance with her nephew and then mingled. Usually she loved parties like this, but this wasn't the same without Tony here. She missed him and despite wanting to get out of the house for a bit, she suddenly found herself wanting to be home. Maybe she was getting old and growing up a bit.
She sipped at the glass of champagne she carried. The glass had lasted her an hour so far and it wasn't even half empty. Yeah, she was getting older. Thinking of getting older, she had to remember to make the final arrangements for Tony's birthday. It was just over a week away.
Natasha did her usual sweep of the room and checked on the kids. Misha was talking to Caitlyn Drake. Eliza was talking to Corey Drake. David was off to the side being his usual quiet self and Anya...her daughter was no where to be seen. Not too surprising. Her mad little genius knew the ins and outs of these parties and had probably come in, let everyone see her, said hi and then disappeared just as fast as she had arrived.
Natasha let it go. Anya was going through a rough patch in the road and some quality time with her boyfriend could do nothing but help. The kid had mentioned her conversation with Tony about her punishment and for the most part Natasha was on the same page. Though Anya did ask Tasha to talk to Tony about the use of the suit for getting to school. Natasha recognized the desire in the kid to not move away from her friends and family. Natasha added the request to the mental list of things to do when she got home.
With any luck after an hour or two Natasha could disappear and retreat back to her room.
