Sammy arrived with her parents. She carried the unwrapped toys while the director and deputy director greeted acquaintances. It kept Dad too busy to frown over her
dress more than once. It was a little more daring than she was accustomed too, but Mom liked it so it had to be in good taste.
He did approve of the gifts, three science experiment kits that promised lots of fun for a curious kid. She put them with the rest of the loot for the tots and immediately looked around for a meandering waiter with a champagne tray.
