Family Affairs, part 1.
He'd just gotten into New York yesterday -- after a little more Balkan agitation; couldn't let it settle -- and things were already going so well.

It took a bit of care slipping into the Stark Inc building as Scott Lang, disabling the cameras in Lang's office -- thank you, Mr. Dillon -- and thoroughly trashing the place before slipping out, but T'g'rt managed.

Before the fallout could come from that, he left the following voice message from a payphone in Queens, just a stone's throw from Riker's.

" 'Awesome Andrea'? Really? Not even an attempt to be subtle? Or are you trying to fit in better by being as obvious as possible? What must people think, if they think at all? Speaking of thinking, how do you feel about family reunions? Be seeing you."

Now to sit back and let things simmer for a while.

It had taken the fullness of that minute for Andrea to assume manual control over her autonomic functions and restore her functionality to where it should be. She was experiencing these behavioral tics more and more of late. Perhaps her programming was becoming corrupted.

"Vincent? What...? I... that is, yes. Yes, I do."

Vincent contemplated moving his chair slightly, so he wouldn't have the same vantage point if the door slipped again. It would be polite.

He didn't need to be that polite though.

"Alright. I'm here, if you need me."

Eventually, Andrea convinced herself that there was no reason not to come out.

"What... what do you think?" she asked.

Vincent sat up, resting his elbows on his knees and steepling his fingers. "Better. The colors suit you more. I think black for the midsection would be even better." He smiled at her, giving her another approving nod.

Andrea smiled. "Thank-you," she said. "I have just one more," she told him, before returning to the dressing room.

Hmm. Perhaps this was a little shorter than she had intended. But was that not in style these days? This was why she had brought a second opinion.

She opened the door in the last outfit.

"Uf." Vincent grunted before he could stop himself, before coughing to re-orient himself and crossing a leg over the other, sitting back and trying to look casual.

"Blue looks very nice on you as well." He tried to smirk casually. "A definite keeper."

Andrea did not fully understand human reactions, but even in light of her earlier embarrassment, she was fairly certain that the reaction she had elicited from Vincent was a good one. It pleased her in a way that she did not completely comprehend.

"Thank-you," she told him. "You have been most helpful."

She returned to the dressing room one last time and came out in the clothes she had been wearing to start with. She carried the clothes she had decided to purchase in one arm, the others she hung on the rack to be replaced.

"I believe these will be sufficient from this store."

Vincent nods quietly, internally mulling over things as he waits as her purchases are rung up. Once that's done, he takes the bags before she can get to them. "What's up next? More casual, or something else?" He slings the bag over one shoulder.

"I am more than capable of carrying those," Andrea insisted.

"I will require a few more casual items, but these will bolster my supply greatly. I should, however, look for more formal items as well."

Vincent turned his shoulder, dodging an attempt by her to reclaim the bags. "And most places would make you leave the extra items outside their changing rooms anyway. I'll be fine."

He curled a lip slightly as they exited the store. "And you're certain you don't want to go to one of the designers I've frequented for the formal-wear?"

Andrea largely managed to mask her annoyance. Her default strength, even without relying on Mister Grimm's template, was several times that of human norm. There was no reason for her not to carry her own purchases.

She looked over at Vincent for a moment, then shrugged. "If you think that would be better, I will bow to your expertise."

Vincent was half-Asgardian himself. It wasn't like such paltry weight had any affect on him either.

Her hesitation brought on his own however. "I simply mean to point out that you're an exceptional individual Andrea, you deserve the best, and there's little that I can't help you obtain."

There were temperature irregularities in her face again, so Andrea briefly looked away, even though she smiled.

"Then I shall allow you to lead me where you wish. Before we go, however, I need to visit the bookstore."

Now Vincent was in a bit more of his element. He grinned at Andrea, relieved after she had turned away for some reason. "What are you looking for?"

"Rick Jones has published a sequel to his autobiography," Andrea said. "I enjoyed the first one and had been looking forward to the follow up."

Vincent blinked. That was unexpected.

He shrugged and offered her his non-bagged arm, smiling. "Whatever the lady wishes."

Now there's why he didn't want her carrying the bags.
