Dinner with a Friend
Misha escorted his date into Sala on Bowery with a smile. Darlene had only been a little insulting - only to him, never to any of the girls that Anya had undoubtedly designated as friends and teammates in the AI's computer files - and it was a good day over all. It wasn't often all his 'wives' were home at the same time, so getting to spend time with Sylvie was a treat. Nothing like a reality check from a girl who saw you run around in your underwear trying to be Spider-man or Namor.

"So tell me all about it," he instructed after the waiter took their drink requests.

Sylvie grinned. "I wouldn't put it past him. But yeah, it was great. And my French and Italian have gotten much better...and my Cathtillian improved to the extent that I may now have a lithp."

"So how are you doing?" She'd heard various bits and pieces on the problematic and downright horrific aspects of the past year, but she won't get into them unless Misha seems to want to.

	Misha chuckled. "David is pretty quiet. He surprises me. I would've sworn he'd faint if you said boo really loud, and then he did okay when Weapon X grabbed us. He listened, followed instructions, and made a friend. He's a lot like Dad if you minus the claws and the berserker part. As soon as I can teach him how to talk to girls, he'll be unstoppable." Yeah, Weapon X is something to not linger over. "He's years behind in learning to fight and defend himself, but he's picking it up fast. Seeing David trying to catch up makes me wonder. All of us started our training practically from the moment we could walk. We grew up in the life with the expectation that we'd eventually take a place in it. David's making a deliberate choice. He has a lot of courage. I admire it."

"I'm trying to convince Mikhail that Russia needs a ball club and a chance to compete on a world wide scale, but it wasn't them. The diplomats from our country hurried in to explain to this poor Russian kid that the Mets weren't worth the time. I put on a thick Russian accent and got myself into trouble later for mocking a diplomatic party." He shrugged with a chuckle. "Can't help if I like my team."

As soon as the words left his mouth he wanted to grab them back. He'd been doing so well, too. "You know, as an extreme reaction to social pressure. ESU, huh? Let me know if you'd like a key to my place in the city to stay if you ever need a place to crash or quiet to study in."
