Prelude to a Massacre
((Warning: This is going to get messy and unpleasant. Some aspects may be triggery.))

They were on the roof this afternoon, just talking and relaxing a little after getting some more work done. It was too cold, sure, but the decor was lovely and the view was great.

Considering their early trouble, Giovanna had taken to keeping her knife in the inside pocket of her coat when they went outside anywhere that wouldn't have metal detectors. She knew she'd most likely just use her powers in another emergency, but a little paranoia never hurt anyone.

"The weather's improving. Perhaps it'll even be tolerable eventually," she told Andrew with a smile.

Blake is stunned at first, who wouldn't be? This was under their control.
On the up side: he's quick to react, launching into a blur of motion. He swings again and again, lashing out punch after punch at Andrew's face and stomach, hitting all the usual vulnerable spots.

On the down side: What happens when you hit a cement wall fifty times in four seconds?

Andrew doesn't move. Blake's knuckles look like raw hamburger.

In contrast: what happens when a cement wall hits you once?

Most of Andrews attempts to fight back are dodged neatly. But in the desperate blur and distractions of the pain dished out when Blake hits him, he does connect once.

He only needs to connect once. Breakneck goes tumbling cowboy hat over heels to tumble to a groaning stop next to Penny, mumbling something through a dislocated jaw.

That hurt. Burned, as if for a moment all of her nerves were on fire.
She's barely conscious at this point, but through the haze, she can hear Andrew.
...Is it reasonable to have odd, soft little giggles of satisfaction when you're nearly mad with pain? She hopes so.

Realizing that things have gone from bad to worse with both boots on, it was time to get the hell out of here.

"Breakneck!" she yelled and hoped he would remember to grab her as he made a run for it.

He does. He's up in a moment and moving, grabbing her up as he goes.
"We'we geddin' da f'ck oudda hewe." he mutters, trying to figure out how to get his jaw set right.
"F'ck da misson." He's pretty sure she'll echo his sentiments. They have bigger targets than these two to hit anyway.
