Lavinia really didn't understand all the drama that people invited into their lives. Merlin was always making himself miserable to try and please other people who hadn't ever really asked to be pleased in the first place, and she was getting tired of his hurt puppy face everytime Draco was around. Which was rather a lot. Their families were close and Merlin and Draco were supposed to be close and she was tired of wounded Merlin.

She walked into her brother's room, sitting on his bed. "Draco and his boyfriend broke up," she said. This had to cheer Merlin up. "They had a big, public falling out."

	"You're a dolt." Merlin informed her with a laugh, slapping her bum. "Fine. We'll go out to whatever club it is that Pyxis likes so much and I'll hit on some girls or something." "You're a bitch," Lavinia said. "We're going to a pub, not a club. You're not ready for a club yet. Plus, you have to wear dresses and heels to clubs and I hate them. They're bullshit. I'll be right back."

She left the room and changed into jeans and a shirt that fit her properly and then came back to collect Merlin. "Let's go," she said. "Stop thinking about your jeans and you'll get used to them."

Merlin walked into the pub and had a look around, grumbling to himself. People were already staring at him and that made him feel even more odd. He sighed to himself and ran a hand through his hair. "Where should we sit?"

"I don't know." Pyxis took a look around the pub, at some of the booths and at the bar. "Where do you want to sit, Darcy?"

Rowan had gotten a text from Pyxis telling him to meet her at a pub and to bring Draco. He didn't know why, but he'd agreed. "So." He looked up at his brother and smiled. "You need a good night out. Yeah?"

"Let's get a booth," Darcy said, pointing to an empty one in the corner. "We can look at our options without being too on display." He looked down at his sister, grinning. "Unless display is your goal?" Darcy glanced at Merlin. "I'd say you were tolling, but you don't see comfortable."

"He's not," Lavinia said, patting Merlin's arm. "But we'll get him over his fear of being noticed. It just might take us a while to do it."

"Yeah," Draco said, running a hand through his hair. He hadn't been that into his ex, but still. Breaking up with people sucked. "I'm so tired of dating these boys. They're so annoying. I need someone older." Like Merlin, but he was annoying in his own way because he wouldn't admit he was gay to anyone but Draco.

"It's okay. I can get us all a bottle of whiskey and some chips until we decide what we really want." Merlin told them all and smiled. "I suppose I'll have to stand up and stand out to attract someone." He walked over to the bar and waited his turn.

Rowan opened the door to the pub and grinned, stepping inside. He had a look around. "We'll find you someone. You-" He paused when he saw a boy in tight denims and a very nice shirt. "Damn. Who is that?"

Draco was admiring the boy's arse too, but then he recognized the back of Merlin's head and he frowned at Roman. "That's Merlin," he said. "You're not allowed to look at Merlin's arse." Even if Merlin didn't want to be Draco's friend anymore, Draco could still protect his virtue. "You find where we're sitting, Ro. I'll go help him."

He walked over to Merlin, trying to figure out why he was so dressed up. It was probably too much to hope that Merlin cared at all that Draco had just broken up with his boyfriend. "Hey," he said.

	Merlin turned when he heard the familiar voice behind him. He looked back at Draco and did his best not to give him a kicked puppy look. He was good at that. "Hey..." 	Draco hummed doubtfully. "I don't know," he said. "Rowan was saying he'd help me find someone new, but maybe I don't want to just find another boyfriend I won't like very much who'll only last a few months again." He shrugged. "We're young. Our relationships aren't meant to last forever at this state." Merlin pointed out, shrugging. "We're supposed to fall in and out of love a million times, have our hearts broken and learn from our experiences until we're old enough and have learned enough. That's when we go back to our one true loves. When things are less complicated and we're not stupid boys."

Merlin looked down at his jeans. "She told me I needed to not wear a suit to a pub. That I'd look stupid."

"Well, I've only fallen in love once so far and it sucked," Draco told Merlin, shaking his head. "I don't know. Maybe I'll try dating older guys now that I'm sixteen. It's not like I can get pregnant, right?"

He looked at the jeans again, because he had an excuse. "You wouldn't look stupid. You look really good in a suit. But you'd definitely stick out. You just look hot now."

"I wouldn't say I had a plan, necessarily." Merlin admitted as he looked around the pub. "I wanted to look nice so people would look at me. I guess that could be considered a plan."

He leaned against the bar. "Lavinia is under the impression that I need to date. I told her I wasn't interested in dating and that I wasn't sure what she was planning to prove by bringing me out with two Lestrange brothers who are very attractive, but telling me to find a girlfriend if that's what I wanted."

Merlin thought the Lestrange brothers were very attractive? Draco glanced over his shoulder at the table, frowning at them. They weren't that attractive. "You do look nice," he said. "People are looking at you."

Draco reached over, brushing imaginary lint off Merlin's shoulder, stepping closer so he could touch him and stake his claim a little. "You're just as attractive as the Lestranges," he said, looking up at Merlin.

	Merlin looked down at Draco, his mouth going a bit dry. He didn't know how Draco had the effect on him that he did. But, it was't fair. He closed his eyes for a moment, taking a deep breath. "I like your eyes," Draco said, holding eye contact with Merlin for a long moment as he smiled up at him. "What's wrong with yours?"

He reached up, brushing a bit of Merlin's hair off his forehead. Merlin looked far too good in his clothes. Draco couldn't help himself and he wanted to make sure everyone in the pub knew that Draco claimed Merlin. His. "You're gorgeous, Merlin."

	Merlin looked down at Draco. This wasn't very fair. He cleared his throat, doing his best to not lean into Draco too much. It was kind of difficult. He cleared his throat again, mostly because he was nervous. "I think I need to go to the loo." He told him. "Excuse me." He pulled back a bit and walked to the loo, expecting Draco to follow him. Draco waited for a moment, glancing at everyone at the table, raising an eyebrow at Lavinia, who was watching him with far too much interest, and then followed Merlin to the loo. He saw Lavinia's game, and Pyxis was probably in on it too. But he didn't mind.

He smiled when he walked into the loo and found Merlin there alone. "I assumed you wanted me to follow you."

	Merlin looked at Draco when he came into the loo. He hadn't known if Draco would actually follow him. He smiled softly at the other boy, then tugged him into a stall, pressing him up against it. "Hello." He said simply, then leaned in and pressed their lips together again. Maybe this time, Draco would be able to understand that he needed him. (Reply to this)(Parent)
