Draco was supposed to be having lunch with Pansy and listening to her talk about her new boyfriend, but for the most part he was playing with his phone. It had been a week since he'd heard anything from Merlin and, given that the last time they'd seen each other Draco had had to leave for a while to give Merlin a break, he was starting to get worried. Plus, Merlin hadn't been at school and he hadn't answered Draco's texts asking how he was feeling and it just... It was worrying.

He put his phone down because, no, there still weren't any new texts from Merlin, and looked up at Pansy. "I can't believe Father actually approved of a man for you. It's got to be some sort of miracle."

"Coffee is essential. It's not even really a gift. It's just basic humanitarian aid, especially when I'm staying with you," Draco pointed out. "I'm not a morning person."

He kissed Merlin back. "We should have a sleepover this weekend. I'll even try and cook for you, if you really want me to. I take no responsibility for however the final product turns out."

"I think I'd rather my house didn't catch on fire." Merlin told Draco with a snort, shaking his head. "But, we could maybe cook together. I could show you how to make something if you want."

He kissed down Draco's neck and pulled him a little closer. "I love you." He whispered. "Promise me you won't ever leave me."

Draco smiled at that, leaning against Merlin and kissing him back. "I love you too," he promised, reaching up to comb his fingers through the other boy's hair. "Of course I won't leave you."

He brushed his nose against Merlin's. "We finally worked everything out, right? We've been dancing around this our whole lives. We're supposed to be together. You can teach me how to make something easy and then I'll be able to make it for you while you're at work one day."
