Draco was supposed to be having lunch with Pansy and listening to her talk about her new boyfriend, but for the most part he was playing with his phone. It had been a week since he'd heard anything from Merlin and, given that the last time they'd seen each other Draco had had to leave for a while to give Merlin a break, he was starting to get worried. Plus, Merlin hadn't been at school and he hadn't answered Draco's texts asking how he was feeling and it just... It was worrying.

He put his phone down because, no, there still weren't any new texts from Merlin, and looked up at Pansy. "I can't believe Father actually approved of a man for you. It's got to be some sort of miracle."

Pansy knew that Draco wasn't listening to her. It was kind of bothering her, but she'd found another way to entertain herself and to make sure that Draco wasn't listening to her. Which he wasn't. She knew this because she'd been talking about being molested by a ghost and being pregnant with a ghost baby for at least five minutes.

"You haven't been listening to me at all." Pansy frowned at Draco. "If you did, you'd know that I haven't even been able to talk about my boyfriend."

	"Well... what have you been talking about?" Draco asked, after considering denying the accusation for a moment. "I'm just a little distracted. I'm sure whatever you want to talk about is very interesting, Pans." He gave her an expectant look, glancing at his phone one last time and then tucking it away in his pocket. For once, Draco wasn't sure he wanted to talk about his problems. Maybe Merlin was just... something. Just something that didn't involve him being upset at Draco. Just actually too sick to respond to Draco's texts. "Merlin moved into his new flat this weekend," he said.

He played with his fork. "I went to help him move in and he got really annoyed with me so I left to give him some quiet time and things seemed like they were okay when I came back. We ate a pizza and snogged a bit and then I left. But now he's not answering my texts and he hasn't been at school all week and I don't know what to do about it." Draco gave in and pulled his phone out again. "Things are supposed to be easy now that we're finally together."

Pansy hummed thoughtfully at all that Draco said. "Well. I think it's a bit rough, don't you? To be thrust into the world of being a gay teen with an non-supportive father who kicked him out. And to have you coddling him."

She shrugged. "I'm sure that he's having a really hard time as it is, Draco. Without you swarming him all the time. Maybe what he needs is some time alone."

"Couldn't he have time alone and answer my texts?" Draco asked, looking down at his phone and sighing. "I know he's having a hard time. That's why I was trying to be there for him. I gave him space when he said he needed space. Just... he hasn't been to school. Merlin's like Lavinia. He doesn't miss school."

Draco put his phone down on the table and pushed it towards Pansy. "You should take that away from me. I don't want to be the crazy boyfriend who shows up at his front door, but he's all alone in a huge flat and he's never been on his own before and I miss him." He sighed. "What is wrong with me? This isn't how I act with boys I date."

"Am I?" Draco looked down at the outfit he had on. "Fuck, I don't even remember wearing it." He looked up at Pansy, hesitating for a moment before he got to his feet too, grabbing his phone off the table. "All right. If we both go, I might look less crazy."

He smoothed a hand over his shirt. "I supposed it doesn't matter than I wore this yesterday. Merlin won't know that. He didn't see me."

	"Pansy." Draco did really trust her, only he'd forgotten that whenever Pansy and Merlin got together it turned into them fighting over who Draco liked best again. "I was worried about him.
