Draco was supposed to be having lunch with Pansy and listening to her talk about her new boyfriend, but for the most part he was playing with his phone. It had been a week since he'd heard anything from Merlin and, given that the last time they'd seen each other Draco had had to leave for a while to give Merlin a break, he was starting to get worried. Plus, Merlin hadn't been at school and he hadn't answered Draco's texts asking how he was feeling and it just... It was worrying.

He put his phone down because, no, there still weren't any new texts from Merlin, and looked up at Pansy. "I can't believe Father actually approved of a man for you. It's got to be some sort of miracle."

"I know you do," Draco said, kissing Merlin's forehead and hugging him back. "I love you too. I know it was unreasonable to be worried after not seeing you for a week. You needed time. That's fine."

He brushed his fingers through Merlin's hair, sighing. "Pansy has problems with her parents," Draco said. "It's not really my place to say anything. And little things, you know? The little stuff you want your friends to listen to you complain about, no matter how petty they think it is. She does that for me all the time."

	Merlin rolled his eyes. Pansy had problem with her parents. Welcome to the club. He kissed Draco's forehead and then sighed, glancing at Lucius for a moment. Lucius raised an eyebrow at Merlin, but nodded. "I'll make a pot," he said. "And write up your note excusing you for missing classes this week so they don't try and penalize you for it. I'm sure it won't effect the esteem your professors have for you." He walked into the kitchen.

"You got a real coffee maker?" Draco looked at Merlin, smiling. "That's so much better than living off instant coffee. I'll try to put the Pansy thing aside for now, all right? We can just... be together today. Hang out."

	Merlin shrugged and kissed Draco softly. "Your father brought it to me a couple of days ago when I complained about the instant coffee. It's the only gift that I've accepted." 	"Coffee is essential. It's not even really a gift. It's just basic humanitarian aid, especially when I'm staying with you," Draco pointed out. "I'm not a morning person." He kissed Merlin back. 	"I think I'd rather my house didn't catch on fire." Merlin told Draco with a snort, shaking his head. "But, we could maybe cook together. I could show you how to make something if you want." Draco smiled at that, leaning against Merlin and kissing him back. "I love you too," he promised, reaching up to comb his fingers through the other boy's hair. "Of course I won't leave you."

He brushed his nose against Merlin's. "We finally worked everything out, right? We've been dancing around this our whole lives. We're supposed to be together. You can teach me how to make something easy and then I'll be able to make it for you while you're at work one day."
