Draco felt terrified. Even if he and Merlin had had nine months to prepare and lots of experience babysitting Valentine and all of that, he was scared of his mind, holding one of their new sons. They were alone with the babies in the house for the first time and Draco kept waiting for Coconut to decide to smother one of them or something. How were they going to make parenting work?

"This is the scariest thing that has ever happened to me," he informed Merlin, staring down into Cepheus's big, grey eyes. "What are we doing? I'm going to end up breaking one of them. It's a good thing Pansy ended up having twins."

	Charlie made a soft noise against Draco's lips, not minding having been cut off from his singing. Not if Draco was going to kiss him. He pulled him a little closer before he pulled back, taking a deep breath. "Maybe we should get the kids ready for a nap." Charlie suggested, running a hand through his hair. Draco stared at Charlie for a long moment after the kiss broke, glad that Charlie had pulled back, even if he could still feel the tension between them. Maybe Pansy was right about the whole... staying away from Charlie thing.

"Yeah," he agreed, moving away so he could switch the music off, trying to regain control of his emotions. He really hoped the kids had been too busy dancing to notice him kissing his ex-boyfriend while his husband was away. Draco turned to scoop Scorpius and Cepheus up, smiling down at them. "You must be tired after all that dancing, right?"

	Charlie sat down on the couch after all the kids had fallen asleep and been put in cribs and sleeping bags. He didn't know what to do. He'd kissed Draco and Draco seemed sort of mad about it. "I'm the one who kissed you, Charlie. You shouldn't have to leave because I was... because I did something I shouldn't have." Draco was mad at himself. Charlie didn't have a husband. He did.

He ran a hand through his hair, sitting on the couch next to him. "It just felt... good." Draco ran a hand through his hair. "It felt like I should kiss you, even though I know I shouldn't have. I'm married. I can't even blame it on marital problems. Merlin not letting me have biscuits every day is our version of marital problems."

Charlie looked up at Draco sadly and let out a sigh of defeat. He felt bad about what had happened. Even if Draco had just admitted that he'd been the one who kissed him, he couldn't let him take all the blame.

"I'm in love with you, Draco." Charlie told him, looking up at him. "I have been since the summer after you started working at the museum. I shouldn't have... been so close to you. I don't want to ruin your happiness."

In love with him? Draco blinked at Charlie in surprise. That... Charlie was not supposed to be in love with him. Maybe attracted to him, but only in the same way that Draco was still sort of attracted to Charlie even though he shouldn't be. In a mostly hypothetical way.

"I didn't know," Draco said, shaking his head. "I didn't -- I wasn't trying to lead you on or anything. I just wanted us to be friends. I like spending time with you, Charlie. Maybe a little too much. Pansy is always saying I like it too much."

Charlie looked up at Draco and sighed. "I shouldn't have kissed you back. This isn't your fault." He told him, looking down at his hands for a moment, feeling awful. The last thing in the entire world he wanted to do was hurt Draco in any sort of way.

He reached out and touched his hand, then let out a soft sigh. "I'm going to go, Draco." He told him quietly. "I don't think we should hang out anymore. I'm sorry. I don't ever want to hurt you like I did today."

	Draco didn't want to not see Charlie anymore. Charlie had become one of his best friends. But maybe he should think about Charlie's feelings. "You didn't hurt me," he said. Charlie brushed his thumb against the back of Draco's hand, then nodded and stood up from the couch. "You didn't hurt me. I shouldn't have kissed back." He told him, then walked over to where Teddy was cuddled against Caspar's side, picking him up and holding him to his chest before he walked out of the flat.

Merlin smiled at Draco when he came home from work, kissing his cheek, then his lips. "I missed you." He told him, wrapping his arms around his waist and pulling him close.

"How was work today?" He asked, pulling him back towards the table where he'd made dinner.

	Draco felt miserable. When Charlie had said they shouldn't hang out anymore he hadn't expected him to take things this far. He hadn't told Merlin about the kiss and it seemed like bad form to only bring it up now, but he just... Draco sat at the table and shook his head, running a hand through his hair. "Charlie quit." 	Merlin looked back at Draco for a moment, then touched his shoulder. He wasn't the biggest fan of Charlie to begin with, not after he and Draco had been together and then became best friends. "Because he was in love with me," Draco said, looking up at Merlin. "And he didn't want to be around me anymore. It's all my fault and now he doesn't even have his job. I should have been the one who left if either of us was going to leave. He said he didn't want to hang out anymore, but I didn't think -- I thought he just meant outside of work."

He looked down at his hands. "He came over to help me look after all the kids. Caspar had us all dancing to Cher and we kissed." Draco winced. He really should have told Merlin sooner. "I was upset about it because I love you, not Charlie or anyone else, and then he told me everything and said we shouldn't be friends anymore."

Merlin's stomach churned a bit as he looked back at Draco. He felt his jealousy like a cold current that ran through him. And he really wanted to punch Charlie in the face, even if he couldn't take him in a fight.

"Okay." Merlin looked back at Draco, then took his hand. "I love you, Draco. It doesn't matter what happened, you know? But, it is for the best that he left."

Draco looked at Merlin for a moment, then smiled back at him. He had a good husband, even if he felt like he was a shit one right now. Merlin looked after him. He leaned in and kissed the other man for a long moment.

"Thank you," he said. "I want to spend the night with you. We should get someone to look after the babies this weekend so we can go out and have a date."

	Merlin had done as requested and had decided to take Draco on a date. He was taking him to a nice spa where they could both be pampered while they had the time off and they could spend it together. 	Draco was sweet. Merlin smiled at Draco and nodded. He had to do everything in his power to make sure that Draco wouldn't leave him. That Draco would always love him and never want anyone else ever. 	Merlin sat beside Draco in one of the steam rooms, the air so foggy that he could barely even see the door they'd come in. He smiled at him for a moment, then kissed his neck softly and laughed against it. "Can we make this like one of those pornos?" Merlin asked, sliding a hand down to open Draco's towel. 	"That's what I thought." Merlin laughed and nipped at the skin beneath Draco's ear, sucking a tiny spot onto it as he started to stroke him slowly. This made him happy.
