June Riddle tucked a strand of hair behind her ear as she did her Arithmancy homework in the back of the library. Merlin took up most people's attention so she didn't have to worry about people whispering about her father too much. She'd also never been kidnapped, which was really nice. The back of the library was still one of her favourite places to hide in.

She looked up, when she heard someone shuffling in the shelves by her, even if it was probably just some couple coming to the back of the library for a snog. "Hello?"

	"Yes. It's really boring." Regulus grinned at her and then shrugged, wrapping an arm around her shoulder. He took her books with his free hand and carried them for her. Like a sir. An animagus? June gave Regulus an impressed look. Carrying her books and claiming an extremely difficult accomplishment. It was sweet and kind of like he was showing off for her.

She shook her head. "Nope," she said. "I'm definitely not one." She grinned at Regulus. "You can't be registered. Are you sure you should be telling me? Will you show me so I really believe you?"

	Regulus knew she was going to ask to see it. He nodded and pulled back with a grin. "Of course. Here." He held out her books and then closed his eyes, focusing, then turned into a large, black dog. June squeaked in surprise when Regulus actually turned into a dog, but then he was a dog and he had such big, brown eyes. She smiled, crouching down beside him and putting her books down.

"You are adorable," she said, running her hand over his side and then scratching him behind the ears, cooing just a little. She'd always wanted a dog. Her father thought snakes were more appropriate pets. "Do you like fetch? We could play fetch this weekend."

	Regulus would have laughed if he could. Most girls didn't like when he was a dog. They found it creepy. He made a noise and then licked the side of June's face, smiling as much as a dog could smile. And then he nodded and leaned into her touch. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	June snorted when Regulus licked her cheek, leaning in and kissing the top of his head. "You're far too cute like this," she told him. "Dogs with big brown eyes can get away with murder." 	Regulus leaned into her touch a little bit more, then pulled back and turned into his human form again. "I do like fetch. The only bad part are fleas. That make you barking mad." June laughed when Regulus turned back into himself, straightening and wiping her hands off on her skirt. "I hope you don't have fleas now."

She glanced between the Gryffindor and Slytherin tables for a moment. Everyone would disapprove of her sitting at Gryffindor, but Regulus was right about him being eaten at Slytherin. "All right," she agreed. "I'll try Gryffindor out, but I'm blaming you for anything that happens."

"I can think of at least two things that can happen. I'm supposed to be proving I don't talk about one all the time, and the other is my brother, which, actually, probably isn't very likely. He's a bit self-absorbed," June said, smiling as she sat at the Gryffindor table. "I like pasta. I'm all about carbs. You should know that, if we're going on a date this weekend."

June didn't want to keep talking about her family so she kept her mouth shut about Regulus not being afraid of them. Just because he should be afraid didn't mean it was her job to make sure he was.

"Potatoes are good too," June said, reaching for a tray of vegetables and scooping them onto her plate. "We could get chips and wander around Hogsmede this weekend. Lurk in shops and things before we go to play fetch."

	June grinned at that. Regulus was doing very well with her so far. "That sounds perfect," she said. "I always wanted a dog when I was growing up. I can't remember if I said or not.
