Charlotte usually went wherever Elodie did. Her cousin was older than her, and spent a lot of time at their house, so it made sense. Plus, Elodie was older and even if she liked weird things and was a bit violent, Charlotte still liked her. She was cool. Today, she was over at Xavier's house playing with her stuffed unicorn while Elodie and Xavier played with their dolls.

Charlotte glanced at the other boy in the room, who she'd met a couple times but was too shy to talk to, and watched him chew on his sheep for a bit before she crawled over to him. "Hi," she said, sitting next to him. "I have a unicorn."

There was sunshine in his eyes and the smell of bacon. Tofu bacon, which smelled worse. Bruno grumbled and woke up naked, glancing to the side of him. But, the girl seemed to be gone already. He frowned to himself and then got up, pulling on a pair of sweats and walking down the hall.

He stopped in the doorway where his father was making pancakes and bacon. "Walden. Why are you making bacon? I feel like I'm going to be sick." He caught sight of Rider sitting at the breakfast nook and grumbled.

Walden looked back at Bruno and smiled. "Xavier said you two went out dancing with your friends last night," he said. "Did you drink? You should be more careful. Have as much water as you do alcohol and you won't feel as bad."

Rider snorted, looking Bruno over. "Did you bring a girl home?" he asked. "I hope you got laid. You just need to fuck girls and stop moping about that Weasley."

Bruno frowned at Rider and shook his head. "I don't mope about her. And yes, I brought a girl home. Not that it matters. She's already gone. Didn't even stay for orange juice." He pulled the carton from the fridge and poured himself a glass, leaving it on the counter.

"Not that I mind. Girl was an idiot." Bruno sat across from Rider. "Where's Xavier? He's got my phone."

	Walden watched Bruno for a moment, then sighed. "Bruno, you have to respect your body," he told him. "You shouldn't be physical with someone you don't care about." Xavier snorted as he walked into the kitchen and picked up the juice, putting it back in the fridge. "Walden, come on. It's one girl." He handed Bruno his phone. "Here you go." Xavier shrugged, stealing a bit of fake bacon from Walden's pan and putting it in his mouth. "You were dancing with your girl. I didn't want to interrupt just because she texted you."

Walden watched Bruno with his phone and sighed. "I've been with more than one woman, but I still don't think you should be having one-night stands."

"yah, just missed u. y did xavier have your phone?"

"It's alright, Dad. I'm going to be sixteen this summer." Bruno told him with a frown. "It's not like I'm going to be some giant whore like Mum was or anything. I'll be fine." He texted her back.

"Was out w/ boys. Had 2 much drank. Lost my vcard."

"What's this about me being a whore?" Pyxis asked as she walked into the kitchen. "I'd still be if your father would let me."

"You weren't a whore," Walden said, giving Pyxis an affectionate smile. "Bruno had a girl over last night. That's all. I was just telling him I think he should wait to have sex until there are feelings involved. It's better."

Rider snorted. "You've always been a prude," he said, shaking his head dismissively. "Sex is sex. Bruno's a teenage boy. Of course he's having it. So is Xavier. You don't see me lecturing him about it."

"You and Walden sort of have different parenting styles," Xavier pointed out, laughing to himself. "And I'm older than Bruno."

Bruno was drowning everyone else out as he read the text. He frowned at it for a moment and texted her back, asking what she was doing and that he needed to talk to her because it was important. He looked up at his family and frowned.

"Girls are confusing." Bruno said, putting his phone down on the table and taking a bite of a pancake. "Charlotte told me she's too busy to talk to me."

"Girls are so not confusing," Xavier said, grabbing Bruno's phone to scroll through their texts. He snorted when he saw the last few messages, raising an eyebrow at Bruno. "Really, Bruno?" He texted Charlotte to say he didn't have a girlfriend and then handed him the phone again. "You're welcome. Best I can do to salvage this."

"What's wrong?" Walden asked, frowning a little as he brought the rest of the food to the breakfast table. "Maybe she's in a club meeting. Her school has a very good reputation."

"oh, ok. its just hw w/friends... wat u want to talk about? i can put it off."

"Oh my God." Xavier shook his head, piling pancakes and soy bacon on his plate. "I'm so glad I'm gay if that is what being straight is like. I want to let everything happen naturally, Bruno, but sometimes I feel like you're begging for me to fix things."

"Bruno's life is his own," Walden told Xavier, smiling a little. He glanced at Bruno. "I'm sure she doesn't think that. Classes are important."

	Bruno was ready for his skype call with Charlotte. It had been a while. Too long, really. He finished looking himself over in the mirror to make sure he didn't look like complete crap, but was thinking about the sex he'd had the night before. And he kind of wanted to do it again. Charlotte was still kind of... hearing that Bruno had lost his virginity to some random girl made her feel really weird. And part of her was glad he didn't have a girlfriend, but the other part of her didn't like the idea of Bruno having sex without having feelings first. It was all so complicated.

She touched up her make up and made she sure looked okay on the webcam before she signed on and called Bruno.

	Bruno accepted the call immediately and smiled at Charlotte on the screen. He'd missed his best friend. Even if she was a girl. He waved at her and sat up a bit, leaning back against his pillows. "I doubt that's true." Bruno told her with a shrug. "You're living in an exotic country, speaking a foreign language. All that." And he hated that she was. It killed him that she was so far away, having fun without him.

He clicked a link that Jaden had sent him in his email and laughed when he saw it. A site for finding hookups. He rolled his eyes and began to scroll through profiles. "I haven't done much. Jude forced me out of the house and I went to a club. Met some vapid girl." He brought his necklace up, chewing on the chain as he signed up for the site.

"Yeah, but it's just school, really. When you get past everyone here speaking in French." Charlotte wasn't doing anything else on the computer, but she could tell Bruno was. "So it's just like being at home, except without my best friend."

She watched him chew on his necklace for a moment, smiling at the familiar gesture. "What are you doing?" she asked. "Was the girl the one you... you know, slept with?"

"Just looking at something that Jaden sent me. Guy's a freak." Bruno smiled at Charlotte, letting his necklace drop. "It'll just take me a second to finish looking at it." Even if the warmth of the computer and the pictures of the girls were making him hard.

Bruno nodded at her question. "Yeah. She's the one. I can't even remember her name. It was the boys's idea. You know? Even Xavier was pushing me to do it. And you know how he is."
