Kit wasn't sure this was a good idea, but he felt like it needed to happen. All his friends at school said it needed to happen. It hurt that Albus had gone home from their conversation and immediately started dating Scorpius, but they'd been together for two years and Kit missed Albus like crazy and he wanted them to be friends. It had taken him a while to get to that conclusion, but even after seeing pictures of Scorpius and Albus kissing on the internet, he wanted it. Albus was too important to be cut out of his life completely.

He'd still waited until Paris Fashion Week to show up outside Albus's door. At least he knew Scorpius would be gone. Kit took a deep breath, and then knocked.

Kit stopped, staring at Albus when he said he'd made a mistake. "I... Oh," he said, sitting down on the couch and thinking about that. Did that mean Albus wanted him back? Kit couldn't let himself think about that kind of thing. If he did, he'd be selfish. He couldn't actually try and help Albus.

"You can't stay with someone who doesn't make you happy," Kit said, looking up at Albus. "I'm biased, and you know that, but even if I think of you as just a friend... I don't think it's fair to either of you to stay together when one of you isn't happy. You've been friends for so long. Scorpius would forgive you."

"He's a Malfoy. They're really petty." Albus sighed softly, shaking his head. "I don't know if he would forgive me, but I'm not sure how I feel in general. I know that I miss you a lot more than I should. I don't even know how to dress myself without you."

He laughed softly. "I haven't worn a bowtie in a month, Kit. I don't know which pants to match them to without your help over skype."

Kit smiled at Albus. "I could help you put a few outfits together before I go back to school," he offered. "You're living with a model. You'd think he'd be able to help you dress yourself."

He looked up at Albus for a moment, then shrugged. "I don't know, Albus. Maybe I'm the wrong person to be talking about Scorpius with. I still have feelings for you so I can't give you advice and be totally selfless but... I mean, I don't think you ever talked about me like that behind my back. Calling me petty. Not thinking the best of me."

"I never talked badly about you. Ever. The most I've ever said was that I was mad that we couldn't go to the same school." Albus shook his head and let out a soft sigh, closing his eyes. He rested his forehead against Kit's shoulder, because it felt natural.

"I love you." Albus told him quietly. "And I'm not over you. Even if I'm the one who ruined everything. I didn't expect you to ever forgive me for what I did, so when I came home... I got with Scorpius."

Kit reached up, running his fingers through Albus's hair. He bit his lip to try and keep from crying when Albus told him he loved him still. "Albus, we were together for two years. Even though you hurt me a lot, all that wasn't going to go away because of one night when you were sad and lonely and drunk."

He turned his head, kissing the top of Albus's head. "I think you were scared. I think you were scared and maybe Scorpius told you about his feelings and then you were scared of losing him too so you just... did what felt right."

"Maybe I don't deserve anyone. Maybe I'm supposed to be alone." Albus told him with a sigh, then gave Kit a pathetic look. He touched the other boy's cheek and did his best not to cry.

"I have been so lonely." Albus told him quietly. "Scorpius keeps running off doing things for his work. He's always on some diet where he barely eats anything. I get your career being important to you, but if you love someone, you shouldn't let it drag you away all the time. Right now he's at fashion week. Even if I'd gone with him, I wouldn't see him."

"Have you tried to make any friends at school?" Kit asked, taking Albus's hand into his. "You can't let your world revolve around Scorpius, Alby. When we were together we were interested in the same things so it was easier for us to spend time together. And we always had our movie nights and everything planned out. It makes sense. You feeling like some of that is missing."

He rubbed his thumb over the back of Albus's hand. "I was going to stay with my parents, but I could stay here. If you want. I can sleep on the couch, but I'll be here to keep you company and you won't be so lonely for a little while. While he's gone."

	Albus looked at Kit and squeezed his hand in his own. Everything had always felt so right with Kit. So easy and fun and exciting. And while Scorpius was exciting and he loved him, he did miss things the way they had been with Kit. "You still move me, Kit." Albus told him through a teary smile. "I don't know how you do it." Kit couldn't take it anymore. It was wrong and he should keep his hands off things that didn't belong to him anymore, but he leaned forward and pressed his lips to Albus's anyway, closing his eyes as he pulled away. He loved him. Still, and so much that it hurt.

"Sorry," he said, smiling a little. "I just... had to. You're my best friend, Albus. I don't want us to go this long without speaking again. No matter what happens. We are too good together to stop being friends."

	Albus had liked the kiss, even if he was telling himself he couldn't. He looked back at Kit and then kissed him softly again, not deepening it or pushing it. It was just a soft kiss that felt entirely too good. "I should have gone to your school." Albus told him, shaking his head. "Then I wouldn't have messed everything up." "No, you shouldn't have. You got into the school we both wanted, Alby. I would have hated myself for making you give it up." Kit gave him a sad smile. "I got a second shot, you know. I have an audition for second semester. I just got the letter this week. I figure... I mean, with all the stuff I'm learning right now, I'll be better this time around. I have a shot."

He squeezed Albus's hand again. "I miss you. I miss us. But I don't think you should have given up your future for me."

"Plans change sometimes," Kit said, shrugging. "I liked what we had figured out for ourselves before, but now we just have... new challenges ahead for us to rise to. And I know if anyone can do it, it's us. We're phenomenal."

He hesitated for a moment, touching Albus's cheek. "And... if you plans change again... I'm here. Even if I'm away at school when they change, I'll always be a skype call or a phone call or a text away."

Kit wasn't sure what the kissing meant anymore, but he liked it. Being with Albus again, being this close to him, felt like being home again. He brushed his fingers through Albus's curls, tugging on them gently, mostly because he knew how much Albus liked it.

"If we never had challenges, then we're never get stronger. Sometimes even the best things, the things that feel the strongest, need to be tested. So you know how hard you're willing to fight for them." Kit brushed their lips together. "I'm willing to fight for you, Albus."

	Albus smiled a bit at that. Kit was willing to fight for him. It made him feel good to hear that from Kit. It made him feel less lonely and more wanted. He kissed Kit again before he slowly pushed him back against the arm of the couch, holding him close. "You are perfect." He whispered. (Reply to this)(Parent)
