Radley was up kind of early compared to when he normally woke up. He had managed to get one of the orderlies to let him outside so that he could pick some flowers. He put them in one of the Styrofoam cups and placed it on the breakfast tray he'd gotten for Lucy, then walked down the hall to where her room was.

He sat the tray on the bedside table and sat on her bed, wondering which Lucy he'd be getting that day.

Lucy wasn't expecting Radley to come in and wake her up so early in the morning, but when the bed sunk so much she almost rolled onto her side, she knew it was him. She smothered a yawn, opening her eyes to look at him, and smiled. "Hello," she said.

Lucy stretched her arms above her head, then looked at the tray beside her bed and the flowers in the cup and smiled. "You -- did you bring me flowers?"

Lucy sat up in bed, leaning in and kissing Radley's cheek. "You're amazing," she told him, leaning against him. She reached for the cup of flowers, raising it to her nose so she could smell them. "No one's ever brought me breakfast in bed before."
