To Callaway
Parker didn't have any injuries to speak of. He was very clear that he wanted to get out of the fucking hospital as soon as he possibly could. As the members of the team questioned him, he was short with his answers, sullen at best and belligerent at worst. They reassured him that they'd called Callaway and that the man would be there soon, but Parker had almost told them not to call because he didn't know if he was ready to see the man. Sure, Reagan had mentioned that the man had been waiting for him, but could he really trust to hope for something so amazing? In Parker's experience, he didn't get such a good thing twice, especially after he'd treated it so poorly the first time around.

Everyone had left him alone, moving on to the next victim, the next little headline or piece of the puzzle depending on how you looked at it. The silence of the little exam room was almost too much to bear and before he knew it, he found himself on the floor with his knees up to his chest, sobbing as quietly as he could.

He leaned his head back against the passenger seat, nearly knocked out by Callaway's words. It never failed to surprise him how Callaway could make him go utterly weak inside with just a turn of phrase. It hadn't changed, even after five years.

"I know it now." And he was more likely to trust that now, as if Callaway had passed some great cosmic test. Waiting for him for that long. Something occurred to Parker and he glanced over at the other man. "Have you seriously not had sex in five years?" He wouldn't have blamed him if he'd fucked someone else, after all, Parker had.

Callaway couldn't help but smile and chuckle at that question. It was just so Parker, and he'd missed those little quirks and the way Parker was always so brutally honest.

"I seriously haven't had sex for five years," he repeated as he glanced over at Parker. "I've had dreams of you, though. Lots. But you'll read about them." Because he wanted to read all that Callaway had written while he'd been gone.

Parker was glad to find that his sex drive hadn't wavered when it came to Callaway. He'd feared that the pleasure of sex had been ruined forever by Adam, but that was not the case and that was just one more little triumph over the man.

He turned over in his seat, not caring that Callaway was currently driving. "So you're positive it still works?" He leaned over and kissed Callaway's cheek while his hand slipped pointedly down to the front of his pants.

A part of Callaway worried that it was simply too soon for sex, but damn if he didn't want Parker. He turned his head to catch Parker's mouth with a kiss before he pulled off of the road, onto a dirt one, away from the road. He put the car in park and cut the engine before he turned to pull Parker against him so that he could kiss him hungrily. It had been so long since he'd felt this, too long since he'd had this.

The reaction surprised him, and his brain faultered a little. When it wasn't him doing the kissing, things got a little murky. But he could smell the familiar scent of Callaway, feel the crush of his mouth and knew that he was safe. He whimpered into it, heart leaping into his throat with its rapid beats.

He crawled onto Callaway's lap, deftly avoiding the steering wheel and crooking his body so that he could fit in the narrow space between. "Callaway," he breathed, the name grounding him.

Callaway slipped his hands beneath Parker's shirt and held onto him tightly, devouring his name as it came off of Parker's lips with a kiss. He let it soften after a moment and he pressed a kiss to the tip of Parker's nose.

"I want you so much," he said softly. "Is it too soon? I just missed you so much, I missed this. I missed us. I miss everything, even silly things like how you'd steal the covers at night or the way you lick the center of your lower lip when I'm cooking dinner."

It was romantic, and parts of it broke Parker's heart. He'd missed five years with Callaway. "It's not too soon. It can't come soon enough. I've wasted so much time away from you as it is."

He closed his mouth against Callaway's throat, sucking and biting and groaning as he let his hips clash roughly against the other's. "I just need to remember how you feel and I can't wait one more second."

"Not even for our bed?" Callaway murmured breathily into Parker's hair as he pressed his mouth against the top of his head. "I'm not sure how well I can move in this car, maybe if I was a short man we'd have no problems," he added with a mirthful smile. A hand slipped into Parker's hair and he coaxed his head up so that he could kiss him on the mouth. "God I hate how tall I am," he whispered against Parker's lips.

"I don't hate it. I love how tall you are. You're my perfect, elegant arachnid." Parker had always favored the imagery of that, and Callaway had shown up many times in his more fanciful stories as a wise and beautiful spider.

Parker flicked his tongue against Callaway's lips playfully as he spoke. "I was going to just give you road head, you know. But you pulled off the road too soon." He didn't seem to mind that such a thing was dangerous.

Both of Callaway's hands came up to cup Parker's face. He smiled softly at the younger man's words, and while most people might have found being compared to a spider offensive, Callaway certainly didn't.

"I'm very certain that I wouldn't be able to drive properly if you did that," he mumbled softly.

"That would be okay," he countered. Not that Parker had a death wish or anything, but he was starting to feel so high that he thought danger just didn't apply to him. He'd just escaped half a decade in a dark, dank prison.

But after a moment, he sighed a little and drug himself off of Callaway. "We should absolutely get home," he said with determination.

The tone of Parker's voice was utterly adorable, and Callaway leaned over to kiss him softly a few more times before he pulled away to start the car again and pull back onto the road.

"Don't worry, I'll drive fast," he promised as he reached over to brush his fingers against the side of Parker's face. "It'd be nice if teleportation was available."

"It'd be nice if you had a bigger backseat," he countered in a wry voice. But Callaway was right, he wanted the bed, their bed. He was pleased to think that it would finally be theirs instead of him simply staying over at Callaway's house.

He was quiet for the rest of the ride and by the time they were home, he'd fallen asleep without meaning to. The events of the day had thoroughly worn him out.

Once Callaway had parked the car, he went around to gently lift Parker out of the seat. He'd always been easy to tote around, but now he seemed even lighter than Callaway remembered. He carried him inside the apartment building and up the stairs with ease, and he only put Parker down onto his feet once they were outside their door so that he could unlock it. The moment the door was open, the dog came over, wagging his tail happily.

"I should take him out," he said softly, "He's been in here for a while. Would you like to walk with us?"

Parker wanted to believe that the dog would remember him, but five years was a long time in a dog's life. He knelt down in front of him and patted his knees to coax him closer. The dog came to sniff him, tail wagging, but he was far more interested in Callaway's return. Parker sighed a little. "Well, I suppose I have some catching up to do. Yeah, I'll go with you guys." He'd missed the warm feel of the dog's fur and he slipped his fingers through it before he stood up.

Callaway reached for the leash and knelt down to clip it on the dog's collar before he stood back up and took a hold of Parker's hand. He made sure to lock up again before they went downstairs, to the little grassy area meant for pets.

"Sometimes when I'd get so lonely, I'd have him sleep with me," he admitted softly with a tired smile.

Parker laughed. "Oh he's going to love me then, I'm taking his place in the bed." He watched the dog snuffling in the grass. "But there's probably room for the three of us." He was used to small spaces and being enveloped in Callaway and Dog would mimic that enough to get him to sleep at night.

Callaway smiled softly as he stared over at Parker. He couldn't get enough of his face. Once Dog had finished his business, he went and grabbed the little scooper and one of the trash bags from the pet waste barrel. Callaway was always respectful of those sorts of rules, and once everything was done he led the way back inside.

The place looked the same, save for the spare room that housed all of Parker's things. And Christmas gifts, and birthday gifts. One of each for every year that had gone by.

"Are you hungry? Do you want to change? I have your things here," he said once he'd unleashed the dog.

Parker went into the spare room to find some clothes. The sight floored him, a wash of familiarity flooding him, punctuated by the newness of the gifts. The moment he saw the number of them, he knew what they were. "You are so incredibly adorable." That was usually Callaway's word for him, but in this instance it really suited Callaway.

When he found some pajamas, he started to take off his clothes so he could put the more comfortable ones on.

Callaway was slipping into his own pajamas when Parker came into the room, and he smiled, unable to believe that this was all real. Just the familiar sight of Parker in his pajamas was enough to make Callaway feel more joy than he had in years.

"I just wanted you to have your things when you came back, and I couldn't help but by you gifts because I wanted you to know I never forgot about you, not for a second."

Parker went to sit on the edge of the bed. He was in a very good mood, but that never quite prevented him from wandering to dark places. "Do you think we'd still be together if I hadn't been taken?" It was easier to love someone when they weren't there to make it so damn difficult. Parker glanced over his shoulder at Callaway. "I don't know why I asked that. It's an entirely moot point, isn't it."

Callaway sat down on the bed, and he took one of Parker's hands into his mouth to brush a kiss to the palm of it. He leaned in and kissed at the corner of ha mouth, too.

"I think we would be, yes," he said confidently. "It might not have always been easy, but I love you. Love's never always easy."

He nodded at that. It was the answer he'd wanted to hear and it soothed him. Finally settling down, he patted the bed and let Dog hop up. He wanted the dog to like him and it felt nice to have another body in the bed as well. As he drifted in and out of sleep, he had to wonder if the others were this happy.

When Parker laid down, Callaway moved to slip beneath the covers beside him. He closed his eyes and pressed a kiss to Parker's temple as he wrapped both arms around the younger man. He was exhausted, but he stayed awake for a while, watching Parker while he slept and listening to him breathe.
