to parker
Parker didn't know if it was good or bad that he hadn't gotten his notebooks back yet. The other items had been returned to the other boys, but a lot of Parker's writing had documented the things that were going on in the house. Chancellor had learned a lot from them and so they couldn't be returned. Parker understood. Top priority was getting Adam. The notebooks would have just reminded him of what he'd lived through in horrid detail, so he wasn't all that eager to get them back. But he would have liked some of his story starters for right now.

The book he'd been writing before seemed like a distant memory and he couldn't even connect with the writing to edit it. Now he was sitting on the living room floor, laptop sitting on his crossed legs. He wasn't typing anything, just staring at an open, blank word document. Dog came over to sniff at his shoulder, cold nose pressing to the back of his neck, making him jump a little and cry out. He could till be skittish at times.

The relentlessness with which Callaway moved against him was maddeningly perfect. It kept the feeling of orgasm going longer, and eventually, Parker was reduced to a shivering little lump of satisfied. Reaching his hand up, he carded his fingers through Callaway's hair, tilting his head back so he could lean up and kiss and lick at his neck.

When he was finished, he let his head drop back down, chest rising and falling deeply with his rapid search for breath.

Every emotion imaginable flowed through Callaway's veins, and they all felt so very raw. He closed his eyes and kissed Parker back, and he poured every ounce of all those feelings into that one act. When the kiss broke, he lowered his head to press his face against one of Parker's shoulders, and he let out a a few ragged breaths. He felt bombarded with feelings, old and new, and it was hard to process all of them. His eyes stung with tears, but he swallowed them back.

"I love you," he whispered softly, and though he hadn't shed any tears, his voice choked and gave him away.

There was that feeling of connection again, the feeling that all of this was so much more than just sex. He tried to fathom what the time apart must have been like for Callaway and how remarkable it truly was that the man had waited for him. If a test to prove his love was ever needed, he would have surely proven it already.

"I love you too," he answered back without missing a beat. Sometimes that was hard for Parker to say. He worried about sounding sappy, or just sounding vulnerable or committed. But he didn't really need to worry about that sort of thing with Callaway.

Callaway turned his head and kissed at the corner of one of Parker's eyelids before he angled his chin down to kiss at the corner of his mouth. It felt so surreal to be so close to the man he loved again, and he couldn't bring himself to pull away just yet. Instead, he tightened his hold on his lover and sighed with contentment.

Parker was glad that Callaway didn't let go. He wanted to stay wrapped up in him for as long as possible. If it was possible, Parker would have wriggled closer, but unfortunately their skin simply wouldn't meld together like he wanted it to. Their individual warmth was made exponentially greater by the fact that they were entwined together and Parker hummed a sigh back at Callaway.

Callaway felt as if his heart might burst with all of the emotions that was bombarding him, but in the best possible way. He wet his lips and nuzzled his face into the crook of Parker's neck before he left a kiss there, then he pulled back to kiss at Parker's lips.

"Worth the wait," he mumbled quietly.

"I second that," he smiled and buried his face against Callaway's neck. He felt his creative juices flowing again and he sat up rather suddenly. "I need to write," he said with a bolt of excitement as inspration hit him.

Callaway let out a warm laugh and he lifted a hand to card his fingers through Parker's hair. He couldn't help but marvel over his lover, so thankful to have him back.

"Go right then," he said softly. "I'll cook dinner."

As if he was late for school, Parker hopped up out of bed, but not before having given Callaway a quick kiss on the forehead. He was obviously thrilled that he had found a source of inspiration again after having it gone for so long. He'd been afraid that nothing would trigger it to come back. Now the blank word document didn't seem so daunting to him and he hurried back to it.

Callaway smiled warmly and got to his feet. He caught Parker at the door and wrapped him up in a blanket before he headed into the bathroom to clean up so that he could go and cook them dinner. His home felt warm again, and Parker was safe. He couldn't have asked for anything more.
