It had been a long night, mostly because Liam wasn't the most chit chattery of the bunch, but Emma was friendly enough that she could get a few conversations out of him over the night. Hearing him talk to his wife for a moment had been terribly sweet, and like everyone else she was very curious about Reagan.

Through out the night, Beckett would check in with them to let them know that everything was fine inside of Jude's apartment, and Mick would check in as well to let them know when Micah checked in with her. As the night drug on, it seemed that the operation was going to be a bit fruitless.

It was around 7AM when Liam's cell phone started to ring, and Emma glanced over at him briefly. She assumed it was Reagan, but really it was Melinda, Reagan's friend who helped him sell his art and find galleries to show it at. Emma yawned and rubbed a hand over her face before she took a sip of coffee.

Liam had used sheer force of will to stay alert and observant. When the phone rang, he jumped though, startled out of his own intensity. By this time, he knew nothing was going to happen and he wondered if the unsub had found someone else or had given up for this year.

"Hey there, I'll be home soon," he began because it was Reagan's ringtone and he expected it to be him on the other end. When Melinda's voice broke through Liam blinked with surprise.

Emma glanced over at Liam again, amused when he'd jumped. It wasn't often Liam did amusing little things like that, and she loved it. She kept on sipping her coffee, staying quiet while he spoke.

"Liam, it's Mel," she said softly, and it was obvious in her tone that she was worried. "Reagan's not here. I came to the front door and it was open a jar, and the security system has been disabled. I went upstairs and I found his phone on the nightstand but he's not here and the lamp is broken and oh my God, what if something's happened to him?"

Liam's first thought was that maybe Reagan had fallen and gone to the hospital. Maybe it was his brain making up any other scenario outside of the more obvious one. Surrounded by talented people. His gut lurched and he felt bile rise up in his throat.

"Mel," he started out, voice reaching a timbre that it had never reached before. "Mel, go downstairs into the studio. Are his--are his supplies gone?"

Hearing Liam's voice like that, panicked and uncontrolled, was unnerving and Emma resisted the urge to look over at him and stare. If his voice sounded like that, she wasn't sure that she wanted to know what his face looked like.

"All right," Mel answered before she turned to head back downstairs. When she reached the main level, she went for the basement steps, and once she was down them she looked around. She went over to Reagan's table of art supplies after she'd flipped on the light, and she let out a nervous breath. "His favorite brushes are gone." Liam had gotten them for him their first Christmas together. "And a lot of his tubes of paints, and... Some of the pieces I was suppose to pick up aren't here, either." She had no idea what it meant, but judging by Liam's tone it wasn't good. "Liam, what's going on?"

For a few moments, all Liam could do was repeat the word 'no' over and over in his head. How had he let this happen when it was now so obvious what the note had meant. "Mel, try not to touch anything and it might be best if you go downstairs and wait for us at the neighbor's house. The Grinstead's." He had no idea if the man would come back, though he assumed that he wouldn't. It was a saving grace that he had such a tight reign on his emotions, especially when there was work to be done. Maybe he would break down later, or panic, or scream, or do something more to indicate the turmoil boiling up inside of him, but right now he had to find Reagan.

He didn't wait for Mel to respond, knowing that she would listen to his instructions. Turning to Emma, he grit his teeth, barely able to get these words out. "The unsub meant Reagan in the note; he's taken Reagan. Please get the team to my house." With that, Liam started the car and concentrated on driving while Emma assembled the team at Liam's address.

Emma was silent as she listened to Liam's side of the conversation. She had absolutely no clue as to what as going on, but she could tell that it wasn't good. When Liam hungup and instructed her on what to do, she immediately called Micah, Mick, and then Beckett. After she'd hungup with Beckett, she glanced over at Liam while he drove.

"Reagan's not... his type, though, I'm confused," she said softly. "The unsub takes men."

Liam had not considered that the team didn't know about Reagan. He didn't outright hide it, but he certainly hadn't ever filled them in. "Reagan is a man," he said quietly, not ashamed but cautious. He didn't think anyone would judge him, but he felt a spark of guilt that he hadn't been more open about it. "And exactly his type. I can't believe I didn't see it before."

He felt like he was going to be sick and as he drove with one hand, he pressed the back of the other to his mouth so hard he swore he was going to leave the imprint of his teeth on his skin.

For a moment, Emma was completely silent as she processed that bit of information. She wasn't judging Liam, not at all, but she was surprised. He was so traditional that everyone had just assumed he was married to a woman. Blinked, she looked ahead for a moment before she looked over at him. She reached over to settle a hand gently against Liam's shoulder as her brow furrowed in worry.

"We'll find this man, and we'll find Reagan," she assured him softly. "Just get us there, and we can start to work."

"If he's collecting them because of their talents, it's highly unlikely that he would kill them. He values them, they mean something to him. He wants to keep them, in his eyes they're his to take care of. He probably takes really good care of them, as hard as that is to believe," Emma said quietly.

"Liam's a private person," Micah offered as he knelt down beside the broken lamp with a frown. "He probably seperates his work from his private life." He looked up at Wyatt and shook his head. "This unsub is always one step ahead of us and I really don't like it."

Wyatt shivered at that notion. If the man was always ahead, then they had no hope of catching him. "We have a fresh scene now--I don't think he'll be ahead for too long now. The probability for solving a case goes down as the crime gets older. He's made a mistake in taking Reagan." He had to think that or he would fall headlong into anxiety. What would the team be like if Liam was changed so profoundly? "Chancellor will help," he said with admiration. He had incredible faith in the man.

"The man who Liam called?" Micah asked curiously as he got to his feet. A little white cat came into the bedroom and went over to Micah's leg to brush up against it, and he glanced down at it, wishing that he could get into the creature's mind. It had probably seen something useful. "Who is he?" he added, returning his attention to Wyatt as he bent down and picked the cat up. "I bet you Reagan feeds him every morning, lets go find the cat food since Liam's not going to be coming back home for a while..."

Wyatt peered down at the little creature, almost perplexed by it. He would not be the best pet owner, more inclined to study animals than care for them. "He retired awhile ago. He was Liam's friend, colleague, mentor I think would be a good word for him. He's one of the best I've ever met." There was no mistaking the level of admiration for the man. He was one of the only people who could beat Wyatt at chess and othello.

Micah led the way downstairs with the cat tucked under one arm, and it was purring loudly. He scratched behind the little thing's ear as he listened to Wyatt's words. "Really? Well I'm very interested to meet him," Micah said honestly.

Emma was coming up the stairs from the basement area, followed by Beckett, and she let out a quiet sigh.

"There's a receipt next to some canvas down there, he just bought some supplies. I noticed that the trash bin is outside, so he probably left the garage open while he brought everything in, and then he took the trash to the curb. Maybe that's how the unsub got in undetected, and was able to disarm the system from inside," she suggested to both Wyatt and Micah while Micah searched for cat food. She saw the little white creature and arched a brow, "Liam has a cat?"
