There was nothing about the healing process that was easy for Murphy. The first few days at his parents house had been good. Cramped in a bed with Seth and sometimes Vegas and Mika too. Enough support that he felt like maybe it was going to be all right. And then he and Seth went back to Seth's new apartment. Seth started drinking again and Murphy spent most of his afternoons alone, thinking about the other boys and thinking about Adam. Some afternoons he thought about calling the other boys but he hadn't worked up the courage to talk to any of them. He knew they were better off without him. Part of him had thought things were looking up but that was until the first time he and Seth had sex after he got home and things had rapidly deteriorated from there. Murphy had stopped calling Vegas and his parents, only talking to them when they called him instead and that was only sometimes. Sometimes he let his phone go straight to voicemail because it was just easier not having to hear their questions. Some nights he wouldn't even look at Seth when he got home. He could still smell the booze on him more often than not and on those nights Murphy just closed his eyes and he'd pretend he could hear the scratching of Parker's pen against his paper or the melancholy music of Elijah's violin. When he was really desperate he'd think of the shutter clicks of Shay taking pictures of them. He hadn't ever really had the chance to bond with him, not the way he had with Elijah and certainly not with Parker. One morning after he'd been home for a few weeks, Murphy woke and felt particularly alone and hopeless. Seth was at work and he was sure that his parents and Vegas would be the same. He'd thought long and hard about returning to work but he had freak outs regularly enough still that he knew it wasn't an option. So he got up and showered and got dressed and grabbed his messenger bag from the desk. With his inhaler, his cell phone and his iPod tucked away in various pockets, he headed down to the train station. A ticket to quantico cost sixteen dollars and he didn't buy a return ticket mostly because he didn't know what time he'd be ready to head back. For most of the ride he listened to his headphones, just trying to block out all of his thoughts with music. By the time he got there it was early afternoon and he had to take a cab from the train station to fbi headquarters. Honestly, he wasn't sure what he thought this little trip was going to do for him, but he knew that he wanted to see the agents that had been responsible for saving his life. He wanted to tell them thank you because he hadn't ever gotten the chance. It was one door he intended to close, the easiest of all of them he supposed. In the lobby they put him through the metal detectors and then he asked specifically for the BAU. The woman told him to wait and that she'd have someone come down to meet him. They weren't just going to let anyone run around in the offices unattended. |

| Shay, Elijah |
[Jan. 12th, 2010|11:34 pm] |
Everything felt so surreal. Being ushered out of the house with the others, blankets wrapped around them all because it was the dead of winter and none of them had jackets or coats. The cold air was biting, and Elijah's tears nearly froze to his cheeks. It had been so long since he'd been outside that he didn't even know how to cope with the scent of the trees or the crisp feeling of the wind.
He tried to answer as many questions as possible. Emma was very sweet, and she hadn't tried to seperate Elijah from Shay. The parademics looked them all over, but Elijah hardly remembered any of it. It felt so strange to be in a moving vehicle. It felt so strange to think that he wasn't Adam's anymore.
Who was he, then?
At the hospital, he got a more thorough check. He'd been extensively examined, and being seperated from Shay and the others left him feeling impossibly anxious. Everyone's family would be coming. Murphy's parents, Vegas, his boyfriend. Parker's boyfriend. Shay's mother. Elijah had no one at all coming, and he didn't know what to do with himself or how to feel.
After Shay had been examined, she'd arranged for him to be put in the same room as Elijah. The boys were all in pretty good condition, save for Murphy because of his asthma. But they'd all be able to go home with their families. Even though Shay had insisted that Elijah could go with him, Elijah couldn't help but feel terrified that something would happen to make him change his mind. The thought of being alone was scary, even though he'd been alone almost his whole life it seemed. |

To say that everyone was working hard was a huge understatement. It was as if the holidays didn't even exist, and if it hadn't been for the merry decorations and the Christmas music all over the radio, Jude was sure that he'd never know that Christmas was on it's way. Everyone was on edge and running on empty. They had all expected to have not only Reagan back by now, but all of the missing boys. It was hard for just about everyone to even look at Liam, and even though the man was putting up a wall, Jude knew better.
He hadn't had much time to process what had happened between he and Beckett. They'd been spending as much free time as they could together, but free time was scarce because everyone was pushing themselves so hard. And by the way that Micah and Wyatt were looking at one another, something had happened between them as well. It boggled Jude's mind because not only was there something going on with he and Beckett, Wyatt and Micah, but something was up with Clark and Ally too because Ally had told him. Jude was just waiting for Mick to come up and say that she was hooking up with Emma, and he smiled tiredly as he thought about it. He was staring blankly at his computer screen, waiting for some information to come up about the man that the van was registered to, the man that Vegas had spotted. |

| open to all of the BAU! |

Three months into the BAU, and Micah was fitting in like he'd been there all along. Mick had grown quite fond of him, though that might have had something to do with Wyatt's liking of the man. Mick found it terribly cute. Wyatt and Micah had weekly dinners together, and lately they'd been going to see foreign films together. It seemed to happen every Thursday night, so every Friday morning Mick was sure to show up early to get some tidbits from Wyatt himself. She knew that the younger team member really liked Micah, enough to ask random questions about dating and relationships. Of course Wyatt thought that he was being inconspicious about it, but Mick knew better.
At the moment, she was sitting at her desk and Wyatt was in Jude's little office down the hall. Probably asking dating questions or... something like that, which Mick thought was ridiculously adorable. When she saw Beckett walk by with some files in his hands looking a little stressed, she thought nothing of it. That happened quiet often, given his job.
Inside Jude's office, Jude was busy trying to make sense of a Sudoku puzzle while he talked with Wyatt, and when Wyatt lifted a finger to his puzzle and opened his mouth Jude held up his pencil in warning.
"If you tell me the answers I will stab you with this pencil," he said warningly. |

Emma Parker was in pretty good spirits, considering that her friend and co-worker for the past year was now gone. Jack had quit the BAU, for whatever reason, Emma didn't know. It wasn't as if Jack was the sharing type. But Emma was, and she liked to think of everyone she worked with as her friend. She didn't really have a life outside of work, after all. Working in the BAU sort of made that kind of thing difficult. Seeing the terrible things human beings did to one another made it hard to trust them, at least for Emma.
It was early, and Emma was bright eyed and bushy tailed with a cup of coffee in each hand. It was when she was walking past her boss' office that she caught a glimpse of the new guy, who she'd only known as Agent Micah Bishop, and who she'd now be calling Agent Gorgeous Gorgeous. She may not have been out there in the dating world, but she could certainly take notice of a very good looking man when she saw one, and Micah was definitely good looking.
She wet her lips and looked ahead, really not wanting to spill coffee on her freshly pressed white button up shirt. Her dark hair, like always, was pulled up in a messy bun, and a pencil was tucked behind her ear. Slacks, as usual, were of a dark color - today navy, and her slip on flats matched the color to a T. She was a little crazy about her shoes matching. It was obvious by the pep in her step that she had something very good that she wanted to talk about to somebody, and that piece of good info was the pretty man she'd seen just moments ago. |
