Emma Parker was in pretty good spirits, considering that her friend and co-worker for the past year was now gone. Jack had quit the BAU, for whatever reason, Emma didn't know. It wasn't as if Jack was the sharing type. But Emma was, and she liked to think of everyone she worked with as her friend. She didn't really have a life outside of work, after all. Working in the BAU sort of made that kind of thing difficult. Seeing the terrible things human beings did to one another made it hard to trust them, at least for Emma.

It was early, and Emma was bright eyed and bushy tailed with a cup of coffee in each hand. It was when she was walking past her boss' office that she caught a glimpse of the new guy, who she'd only known as Agent Micah Bishop, and who she'd now be calling Agent Gorgeous Gorgeous. She may not have been out there in the dating world, but she could certainly take notice of a very good looking man when she saw one, and Micah was definitely good looking.

She wet her lips and looked ahead, really not wanting to spill coffee on her freshly pressed white button up shirt. Her dark hair, like always, was pulled up in a messy bun, and a pencil was tucked behind her ear. Slacks, as usual, were of a dark color - today navy, and her slip on flats matched the color to a T. She was a little crazy about her shoes matching. It was obvious by the pep in her step that she had something very good that she wanted to talk about to somebody, and that piece of good info was the pretty man she'd seen just moments ago.

Wyatt Winston peered over the rim of his glasses, trying to determine the exact effectiveness of the anti-glare coating on his lenses. His fingers held onto the arm of one side, lifting and then dropping his glasses over his eyes as he leaned forward and then back from the screen. It looked like a very strange dance, but most of the people working in the office with Wyatt had learned to accept his odd little rituals and experiments as just a part of having the young man work with the unit.

While they were awaiting their next case, or closing up on their last case, there was no telling the kind of things that Wyatt would do to keep himself busy. He was a large fan of statistics and his desk was filled with charts and numbers compiling their most recent victims and predators. He kept track of every detail and there was ample room in his mind to do so. But for now, Wyatt was more concerned with his glasses' relationship with his computer monitor. He didn't notice Emma at first, he was so engrossed. But after a moment of her standing there, he looked up at her and smiled, finally pushing his spectacles up the bridge of his nose. "Hello, Agent Parker." Even when he considered people friends, he tended to stick to their official title. It was one of the many things about Wyatt that people may have found a bit annoying.

The moment Emma spotted Wyatt, her blue eyes lit up and she headed over to his desk. She'd expected him to be the first she saw, as he always seemed to be very punctual - if not early, and that was precisely why one of the cups of coffee in her hands was for him. As she approached his desk, she had pass up Jack's old desk along the way. It was directly in front of Wyatt's, and she clearly remembered how he use to playfully tease the younger man. The desks were set in such a way that Wyatt and Jack had to face one another, and even though there was a thin frosted glass divider it only came up six inches in between the desks, thus did not offer Wyatt much protection from Jack's teasing eyes.

"Goodmorning, Agent Winston," she said back with a smile, finding the way he kept peering over the rim of his glasses adorable. She was quite fond of the youngest member of their team and his little quirks. "I got you some coffee," he added as she handed the papercup over. "Starbucks even. Might be the only good coffee you get all day, so you better love me." She took a little sip of her own coffee, savoring the taste for a moment before she leaned against the edge of Wyatt's desk. "Did you see the new guy yet?" she asked, arching a brow. "He's beautiful."

He'd definitely been trying to forget about the fact that Jack was gone. Jack's attention always made Wyatt feel wanted and he'd grown accustomed to it, almost dependent upon it. He'd never been the most socially adept person, but Jack had never seemed to mind--in fact, the other man had delighted in teasing him, especially when Wyatt took it so seriously and got very confused. For someone so smart, he sometimes lacked the clear cut common sense of an FBI agent.

When Emma mentioned the new guy, Wyatt couldn't help but glance over at the empty desk across from him. He liked things the way they were, and big changes always set him on edge. He'd been accused of being a little rigid in that way, not liking change. He was quick on his feet and good out in the field, but he needed a home base that was stable. Taking the coffee, he smiled. "Taxpayers wouldn't be nearly so critical of our spending if they tasted our office coffee--we must be saving thousands on that." He wasn't joking; he'd done a cost analysis. "That's a very uncommon adjective to use in reference to a man," Wyatt noted.

"Well, he's anything but common looking," Emma replied as she reached out to ruffle Wyatt's hair. She could tell that he was all ready missing Jack, even if he didn't say it. Everyone missed Jack, really, but for Wyatt things always seemed to be a little bit different. "And obviously you haven't seen him yet, or you would be agreeing with me," she added matter-of-factly before she pushed away from Wyatt's desk so go have a seat at her own, which was adjacent to the younger Agent's.

The hair ruffle made his face scrunch up. Not that he was overly concerned with how his hair looked, but when her hand left it, he tried in vain to make it lay down right again. He held up his hand. "Actually, it's more of a colloquial assignment of gender. During the Middle English period, adjectives lost their grammatical gender, but it's certainly been retained by social norms. One would usually refer to an attractive man as handsome. Do you say beautiful because he looks like a woman or is that more of a poetic diction?" He wanted a why for everything and he frequently pursued the answer to the point of exhaustion.

He turned, trying to sit up straighter in his seat on the off chance that he would catch sight of this man. Wyatt wasn't exactly the most sexual person, and he was not prone to being influenced by physical beauty, but he was terribly curious now.

The moment that Wyatt started to try and smooth his hair down, Emma couldn't help but smirk. She dropped down into her chair and arched a brow as he started on with his string of odd facts, and a quiet laugh escaped her lips as she took another sip of her coffee.

"Poetic diction," she repeated, though it was also her answer. "He's definitely a man, not at all... pretty in the way a woman is, but still pretty, I don't know." She offered a plain shrug of her slender shoulders then and put her coffee down so that she could log into her computer. "He's talking to the Head Honcho right now."

He nodded, accepting that answer, especially since it intrigued him even more about what this person may look like. He shifted a little in his seat, giving up on the fruitless endeavor of catching a glimpse of the new guy if he was in Liam Montgomery's office. The lead agent was probably going down the long list of his expectations, using a healthy dose of professional intimidation to get his point across.

Wyatt let out a little sigh as he took his glasses off and set them on his desk. "I wonder if he play practical jokes," he mumbled to himself.

"You mean like Jack?" Emma asked with a knowing smile. "If you want, I can put woopie cushions in your chair when you're not looking," she suggested with a teasing grin.

Just then the door to Liam's door opened and she grabbed her coffee and sat up straighter as her blue eyes waited for the pretty man to come into view. She wiggled her brows over at Wyatt playfully, though she didn't say a word as Micah came down the stairs and headed towards the desk area.

Dark (slighty messy) hair, pretty blue eyes, and a five o'clock shadow against a strong jaw made him look infinitely serious, but his style of dress wasn't overly professional. He did have black slacks on, but his white button up shirt was left untucked and some buttons left undone. The sleeves of it were rolled up to his elbows, and his blue tie seemed to bring out the color of his eyes even more.

"Hello," he offered the two sitting at their desks with a friendly smile. "I'm Micah Bishop, though you two have probably all ready figured that out."

"Hello Agent," Emma replied as she set her cup down and held out her hand, "I'm Emma Parker, and that little one over there is Wyatt Winston."

"Nice to meet you," Micah replied as he took her hand and gave it a shake before he turned to look down at Wyatt. "He doesn't look very little," he smirked, holding out his hand to Wyatt. "Hi."

It wouldn't be the same if Emma did it, no matter how much Wyatt really did adore her. But seeing as how he couldn't quite explain the reason behind this, he decided not to mention it at all. When the door opened, Wyatt had a more difficult time looking as if they hadn't just been talking about the man. He was terrible at acting.

Watching Micah carefully, Wyatt took in every little detail about his appearance. Liam had warned him many times about profiling co-workers, and how it was unethical and just plain rude. But sometimes Wyatt's mind had its own ideas about what to ruminate over. When Micah turned to him, his eyes opened just a little too wide. "I think she might mean 'little' in reference to my age and not my actual comparative size." For a few beats, he didn't offer his hand back and just stared at Micah's before his social interpretor finally kicked in and he remembered to reach forward and take the man's hand in a handshake.

Micah arched a brow as his gaze swept over Wyatt's face, trying to assess just how old the boy was. Probably in his early twenties, most likely. Still, Micah was going to ask.

"How old are you, then?" he asked, giving Wyatt's hand a shake before he gently let it go.

While most people in Micah's life assumed that he was purely heterosexual, he was exactly the opposite. He did well with the ladies, for obvious reasons, but they weren't what he was attracted to. He never seemed to settle into a relationship, though, mostly because he just didn't have the time. It was safe to say that he found Wyatt adorable, but he knew how to curb an attraction like a pro.

"I'm 23," he answered the question and left his hand out a bit awkwardly before he thought to put it down. Everything was peculiar about him, his movements, his speech. Even his desk was extraordinary in the way that it was piled with various contraptions and paperwork. Liam cut him a lot of slack when it came to orderliness because Wyatt organized differently than some people and when his unique order was messed up, his brain went into turmoil. "Should I ask how old you are?"

Micah found Wyatt's social awkwardness utterly adorable, and at the boy's question, Micah's smile grew. He laughed softly and offered a shrug of his shoulders as he locked eyes with Wyatt. "If you want to," he replied before he pointed at the desk in front of Wyatt's. "Is this where I'll sit?" hr asked, quirking a brow curiously.

It was the only empty one, so it was an easy guess, but he thought it best to ask rather than assume. Of course he'd be sitting in front of the adorable kid, though. That was just his luck. He was going to have to curb his urge to flirt and be completely professional. Bummer.

Wyatt stared at Micah, easily drawn into that gaze. Usually when he was uncomfortable, he thought about the social conventions he was experiencing and its history. It helped him to take the focus off of feeling like he couldn't handle it. But at the moment he found his brain blessedly blank. He was surprised that it felt so nice, freeing. "That's Jack's desk," he blurted but quickly backtracked. "I mean, it was. Now it's yours. I took the liberty of making some dossiers with information about some of the office culture I've observed. It might help you fit in--not that you'd have trouble with that, but I do so I made that list to help and thought it might prove useful to someone new."

"That makes me feel better. He probably wants me to learn from you. Sometimes I don't really think it's about learning so much as natural ability. Micah smiled, a warm smile that lit up his face and reached his eyes. He found Wyatt's honesty adorably sweet, mostly because the kid just didn't have the best delivery in the world when it came to saying certain things. It was cute. While Micah was very use to going with the flow, and masking his surprise, this particular question definitely caught him off guard. He arched a brow over at Wyatt, a quiet but definitely cheery laugh escaping him.

"Yes, but I never thought that it had anything to do with my sociability," he answered before he lowered his gaze back down to the file in his lap. "Are you?"

He resisted the urge to whip out his notebook to jot down his physical reaction to that knowledge. It made his heart flutter and his stomach do a flipflop. He kept his head down because he could feel heat on his cheeks and he knew that there was a blush there. "Sociologists ask strange research questions sometimes. Relating traits." He supposed it was only natural that Micah return the question. "Well, if sociability is an indicator of homosexuality, then probably not." It was a little joke, but he delivered it so awkwardly that it was hard to tell. "But--I'm not really anything."

The delivery of the joke was a bit awkward, but Micah got te humor of it and smiled as a quiet laugh escaped him. He glanced over at Wyatt curiously, finding himself glad that the boy's answer was what it was. He shouldn't have cared though, they were coworker's after all.

"Unlabled," he grinned, his eyes locking with Wyatt's for a moment. "I've never met someone like you before. And I mean that in a good way."

"It's hard to label a null set with anything but null," he said with the faintest of shrugs. He'd never thought of himself as a sexual being until the other man had walked into the picture. The fact that he was a team member was just Wyatt's complicated luck. On the one hand, he could spend lots of time getting to know him. On the other, it could be a very bad situation to get involved with a collegue.

"Thank you, I think." He looked down at his hands, twisting his fingers together. "Human DNA is actually strikingly similar between individuals, so really everyone you meet is like me."

Micah couldn't help but smile a little bit. There was something about Wyatt that he found himself strangely drawn to, something about the boy that made him feel warm and at home. He hadn't felt anything like it before, not ever. He wasn't sure what to make of it.

"Trust me, I haven't met anyone like you before, and I mean that in a good way," he said softly.

The soft edges to Micah's voice made Wyatt think that he was patronizing him a little, perhaps as one would speak to a child. Then again, he was at least pleased that Micah liked him enough to want to make sure his feelings weren't hurt. There was an element of fondness to Micah's tone that Wyatt wanted to focus on, one that hinted at the fact that he was not alone in his attraction.

"Did you know that 50 percent of all fatal plane accidents are due to pilot error? I've been wanting to meet our pilot but Liam won't let me. He says it'll do neither of us any good."

"I did not know that, no," Micah replied, having a feeling that he'd be saying that quite often when it came to little tidbits that Wyatt had tucked away in that brain of his. He wondered how one person could seem to remember so much random information. "You know a lot of random facts and statistics," he commented with a grin as his head tipped to the side.

"Is it bothersome? Agent Meridian tells me to hush sometimes and that practicing the zen of silence would help me out." Becket was kind enough about it, but when Wyatt started spouting disturbing information about the case to the wrong people, he was quick to play the PR guy and tell him to stop. "I have an eidetic memory, coming from the Greek word eidos meaning 'form.' I guess I just have a lot of room up there." He tapped his temple. "I kind of wish I didn't because when I look at some of the photographs they stay with me no matter how much I try to forget them. And in vivid detail."

"I don't think it's bothersome," Micah replied honestly, his eyes warm. "I actually kind of like it," he added as he drummed his fingertips against the folder of the casefile he had nestled in his lap. At the mention of an eidetic memory, he arched a brow, obviously more intrigued by Wyatt. "I can see why that would be difficult. I've seen a lot of terrible things, I can't imagine remembering them the way that you probably do."
