Emma Parker was in pretty good spirits, considering that her friend and co-worker for the past year was now gone. Jack had quit the BAU, for whatever reason, Emma didn't know. It wasn't as if Jack was the sharing type. But Emma was, and she liked to think of everyone she worked with as her friend. She didn't really have a life outside of work, after all. Working in the BAU sort of made that kind of thing difficult. Seeing the terrible things human beings did to one another made it hard to trust them, at least for Emma.

It was early, and Emma was bright eyed and bushy tailed with a cup of coffee in each hand. It was when she was walking past her boss' office that she caught a glimpse of the new guy, who she'd only known as Agent Micah Bishop, and who she'd now be calling Agent Gorgeous Gorgeous. She may not have been out there in the dating world, but she could certainly take notice of a very good looking man when she saw one, and Micah was definitely good looking.

She wet her lips and looked ahead, really not wanting to spill coffee on her freshly pressed white button up shirt. Her dark hair, like always, was pulled up in a messy bun, and a pencil was tucked behind her ear. Slacks, as usual, were of a dark color - today navy, and her slip on flats matched the color to a T. She was a little crazy about her shoes matching. It was obvious by the pep in her step that she had something very good that she wanted to talk about to somebody, and that piece of good info was the pretty man she'd seen just moments ago.

He resisted the urge to whip out his notebook to jot down his physical reaction to that knowledge. It made his heart flutter and his stomach do a flipflop. He kept his head down because he could feel heat on his cheeks and he knew that there was a blush there. "Sociologists ask strange research questions sometimes. Relating traits." He supposed it was only natural that Micah return the question. "Well, if sociability is an indicator of homosexuality, then probably not." It was a little joke, but he delivered it so awkwardly that it was hard to tell. "But--I'm not really anything."

The delivery of the joke was a bit awkward, but Micah got te humor of it and smiled as a quiet laugh escaped him. He glanced over at Wyatt curiously, finding himself glad that the boy's answer was what it was. He shouldn't have cared though, they were coworker's after all.

"Unlabled," he grinned, his eyes locking with Wyatt's for a moment. "I've never met someone like you before. And I mean that in a good way."

"It's hard to label a null set with anything but null," he said with the faintest of shrugs. He'd never thought of himself as a sexual being until the other man had walked into the picture. The fact that he was a team member was just Wyatt's complicated luck. On the one hand, he could spend lots of time getting to know him. On the other, it could be a very bad situation to get involved with a collegue.

"Thank you, I think." He looked down at his hands, twisting his fingers together. "Human DNA is actually strikingly similar between individuals, so really everyone you meet is like me."

Micah couldn't help but smile a little bit. There was something about Wyatt that he found himself strangely drawn to, something about the boy that made him feel warm and at home. He hadn't felt anything like it before, not ever. He wasn't sure what to make of it.

"Trust me, I haven't met anyone like you before, and I mean that in a good way," he said softly.

The soft edges to Micah's voice made Wyatt think that he was patronizing him a little, perhaps as one would speak to a child. Then again, he was at least pleased that Micah liked him enough to want to make sure his feelings weren't hurt. There was an element of fondness to Micah's tone that Wyatt wanted to focus on, one that hinted at the fact that he was not alone in his attraction.

"Did you know that 50 percent of all fatal plane accidents are due to pilot error? I've been wanting to meet our pilot but Liam won't let me. He says it'll do neither of us any good."

"I did not know that, no," Micah replied, having a feeling that he'd be saying that quite often when it came to little tidbits that Wyatt had tucked away in that brain of his. He wondered how one person could seem to remember so much random information. "You know a lot of random facts and statistics," he commented with a grin as his head tipped to the side.

"Is it bothersome? Agent Meridian tells me to hush sometimes and that practicing the zen of silence would help me out." Becket was kind enough about it, but when Wyatt started spouting disturbing information about the case to the wrong people, he was quick to play the PR guy and tell him to stop. "I have an eidetic memory, coming from the Greek word eidos meaning 'form.' I guess I just have a lot of room up there." He tapped his temple. "I kind of wish I didn't because when I look at some of the photographs they stay with me no matter how much I try to forget them. And in vivid detail."

"I don't think it's bothersome," Micah replied honestly, his eyes warm. "I actually kind of like it," he added as he drummed his fingertips against the folder of the casefile he had nestled in his lap. At the mention of an eidetic memory, he arched a brow, obviously more intrigued by Wyatt. "I can see why that would be difficult. I've seen a lot of terrible things, I can't imagine remembering them the way that you probably do."

He watched the way Micah's fingers collided rhythmically with the folder. "I kind of like the idea of remembering all of the victims, like they have a place to live in my head. But I have nightmares a lot and I don't sleep too terribly well. It's frustrating to be able to analyze all of my dreams but do nothing to stop them. I guess there's an element of being too informed about your own brain"

Beckett brought Wyatt some tea in a little covered mug. He was probably the hardest on Wyatt, but he was also the most protective. "Do you want a cup, Micah?" He asked, eyeing the the man just a bit, trying to ascertain his intentions.

Micah had his own nightmares about certain cases he'd worked in homicide, but he had a feeling he'd be having more with this new job. That was just the price that came along with doing it, though, at least he thought so. He could imagine that Wyatt probably had very, very vivid ones, and he found himself wondering just how well the boy slept.

When Beckett came over, he lifted his gaze up to the other man and he shook his head politely. "No thank you, I'm fine," he said softly, managing a smile.

Nodding shortly, Beckett glanced back and forth between the two of them before heading back to his own seat next to Emma. Wyatt took a sip of his tea, completely oblivious to the fact that Beckett had just been giving Micah the evil eye.

"I like tea," he said with a childlike sigh as he sipped at it. "What was working in homicide like? Did you chase down bad guys? I almost never get to chase down bad guys."

When Beckett sat back down, Emma gave him a knowing smirk as she finished jotting down some notes. "You know, you're the one that suggested they work together."

Micah had certainly caught the evil eye, and he definitely understood it. He could tell that just about everyone on the team had a soft spot for Wyatt, and it made sense - he even did himself all ready.

"I did," he said with a nod of his head, "It was intense, hard, amazing to help people and families find out what happened to their loved ones. But hard at the same time. I imagine this job has those qualities, too."

Beckett held up his hands. "That was Liam's bright idea, not mine. I know Wyatt needs to learn interview techniques and Micah's probably a good person to teach it to him, but I also think it's a bad idea to stick the new guy out with the socially awkward savant."

"Definitely the same qualities," Wyatt nodded. "Sometimes I still can't believe I'm actually doing this job. It's a big jump from the academic life. I feel like I'm actually making a difference rather than just thinking about making a difference."

Emma couldn't help but smile a little bit, and she reached over to gently pat one of Beckett's hands. "He's the baby of our group, it's hard not to be protective of him. But Micah seems very easy to get along with, I think the fact that Wyatt's been talking to him this entire time proves that."

"Your academic life must have been quite a ride," Micah offered, obviously still impressed with that brain of Wyatt's. It was difficult not to be impressed, after all. "I'm sure you're a great addtion to the BAU."

Emma was a ray of the brightside and Beckett had to appreciate it. After a moment, he smiled. "Do you think it's even possible for Wyatt to have a crush?" He asked, making sure his voice didn't carry because he didn't want to make either of the two men uncomfortable. Beckett noted how Wyatt was looking at the other man, and he'd been so caught off guard by it that he couldn't even be sure Wyatt had those parts of the brain hard wired.

"I'm kind of a handy encyclopedia, that's for sure. I think I went into psychology to see how my own mind worked. I still haven't quite figured that out yet, but I'm working on it," Wyatt mused.

Honestly, for whatever reason, that hadn't even dawned on Emma and she turned her head to watch Wyatt while he conversed with Micah. It was her job to read people, but she often turned it off while around those she had friendships or relationships with.

"Well," she said after a moment, tipping her head to the side, "I don't know. I mean, yes. of course it's possible, but... I just haven't seen it before."

Micah laughed softly, enjoying Wyatt's humor, even if most people probably thought the delivery of it was a bit off. Micah, for whatever reason, connected with the kid fairly easily.

"Bet it keeps you on your toes," he smiled, "I bet I could talk to you for hours, too, since you know so much."

"People get bored with me more quickly than you might think," Wyatt laughed and it was louder than his usual laugh. The sound made Beckett look at Emma and raise his eyebrows as if to say 'see?'

Wyatt leaned back and settled into quiet for the rest of the flight which wasn't all that long. He was surprised to realize how comfortable he could be with someone so new to him. It made him desperately curious about what it would be like once he was familiar with Micah.

Emma gave a very perplexed blink as Wyatt laughed, and even Mick and Liam looked up and over at the pair. She turned her head to meet Beckett's eyes, a faint smirk settling on her lips before she went back to the file he had in her hand.

Micah didn't seem to notice the looks they were getting. He didn't realize how strange Wyatt's behavior was to everyone else, he was just having a good time talking to the kid. He laughed softly with Wyatt before he pulled his cell out of his pocket to make sure he'd turned it off. He was definitely settling in with the group nicely.
