Emma Parker was in pretty good spirits, considering that her friend and co-worker for the past year was now gone. Jack had quit the BAU, for whatever reason, Emma didn't know. It wasn't as if Jack was the sharing type. But Emma was, and she liked to think of everyone she worked with as her friend. She didn't really have a life outside of work, after all. Working in the BAU sort of made that kind of thing difficult. Seeing the terrible things human beings did to one another made it hard to trust them, at least for Emma.

It was early, and Emma was bright eyed and bushy tailed with a cup of coffee in each hand. It was when she was walking past her boss' office that she caught a glimpse of the new guy, who she'd only known as Agent Micah Bishop, and who she'd now be calling Agent Gorgeous Gorgeous. She may not have been out there in the dating world, but she could certainly take notice of a very good looking man when she saw one, and Micah was definitely good looking.

She wet her lips and looked ahead, really not wanting to spill coffee on her freshly pressed white button up shirt. Her dark hair, like always, was pulled up in a messy bun, and a pencil was tucked behind her ear. Slacks, as usual, were of a dark color - today navy, and her slip on flats matched the color to a T. She was a little crazy about her shoes matching. It was obvious by the pep in her step that she had something very good that she wanted to talk about to somebody, and that piece of good info was the pretty man she'd seen just moments ago.

Wyatt stared at Micah, easily drawn into that gaze. Usually when he was uncomfortable, he thought about the social conventions he was experiencing and its history. It helped him to take the focus off of feeling like he couldn't handle it. But at the moment he found his brain blessedly blank. He was surprised that it felt so nice, freeing. "That's Jack's desk," he blurted but quickly backtracked. "I mean, it was. Now it's yours. I took the liberty of making some dossiers with information about some of the office culture I've observed. It might help you fit in--not that you'd have trouble with that, but I do so I made that list to help and thought it might prove useful to someone new."

Micah didn't seemed bothered at all by Wyatt's odd way of ... well, being Wyatt, and he moved to go let his the tips of his fingertips slip across the smooth surface of the desk before he sat down in the chair. He gazed over at Wyatt, offering a very warm smile, the kind of smile that people could give before they'd worked the BAU too much. Micah had been a homicide detective, sure, but this work was taxing in a different way, one that he hadn't yet learned.

"That's nice of you," he said simply, glancing over at Emma. "Is he always this helpful?"

"Always," was Emma's reply, and she offered a little wink to Wyatt.

"Twenty-three, that's pretty..." Micah paused, his gaze flickering back to Wyatt, "Impressive for this job. Are you some kind of genius or something?"

He glanced at Emma, trying to understand the wink. It made him feel just a little strange, but not in an unpleasant way. "My IQ has proven somewhat difficult to measure." The words themselves sounded almost conceited, but they way Wyatt delivered them they were just fact. He knew that made people uncomfortable sometimes, but he'd really found his nitch on this team. "I've been here a couple years, ever since I finished my doctorate in psychology." He glanced between the two of them, trying to guage from Emma's face if he was rambling too much about himself. He really didn't want to put Micah off in any way.

Emma propped one of her elbows up onto her desk so that she could rest her chin in her hand, and she offered Wyatt a reassuring look. Micah didn't seem like the type to misinterprate anything that the boy was saying. In fact, Micah seemed blessedly laid back. Emma had been afraid they might get someone who was overly serious and didn't know how to smile every now and then.

"Doctorate?" Micah repeated, an eyebrow raising in curiosity, and it was obvious that he was impressed. He had a doctorate in pyschology, too, but he was 34, not 23. "That's very impressive." And the fact that Wyatt had said that he'd worked there for a few years didn't at all go past Micah, either. "I bet you're a great asset to the team."

Haha, I need to catch up character-wise!

Emma's reassurance meant a lot to Wyatt and he plodded forward, not wanting to lose the momentum he'd built already with Micah. He was being downright personable, he thought, and that was quite a thrilling achievement on his part.

"Is it?" He asked politely. His mother thought it was impressive, but Wyatt was under the impression that mother's were under obligation to feel as such. His father, on the other hand, wasn't all that pleased with it and would have rather had his son go into a 'real science.' He absolutely got his brains from his father's side, but never quite managed to get his full approval. "I like working here. I don't think I ever wanted to do anything else. What about you? Why are you here?"

To Micah, it was incredible that Wyatt knew what he wanted out of life at such a young age. When he was Wyatt's age, all he knew was that he wanted to make a difference, and while he supposed that was just as admirable, he obviously didn't have such a clear purpose laid out for him. He went into law enforcement and eventually ended up becoming a homicide detective, so he was no stranger to some of the awful things out there.

"I worked in homicide for a while, it just didn't feel like I was doing enough I suppose," he answered, offering a little shrug of his shoulders. He'd always had a knack for profiling, he just hadn't realized it at the time until he'd gone back to school to get his doctorate in psychology. And now, here he was. "I'm actually surprised that I'm even here at all, to be honest. I know that these jobs are very coveted positions."

"It's interesting that one can think of something unmeasurable as 'enough,' or 'not enough.'" Wyatt never held back his musings, especially after Liam had told him to think out loud during cases. Sometimes his vocalizations triggered something useful to the other team members, no matter how random they seemed at the time. It was a freedom that Wyatt had never been granted before this job and he relished it.

Taking a sip of the coffee Emma had brought him, he tried not to look uncomfortable with Micah sitting across from him and not the familiar face of Jack. "When England imposed heavy tea taxes in the 1700s, drinking coffee in America became an expression of freedom. Like a sort of protest beverage. Isn't that funny?" And it was clear that Wyatt actually found it funny rather than just strange because he laughed his twittering laugh.

I could even play the husband/wifey haha! Maybe I can PB a MGG against you since you can't against me which makes me infintely sad btw :/)

"Actually, considering how popular coffee is theses days, yes it is," Micah agreed with a warm smile, quite enjoying the sound of Wyatt's laugh as well as the expression on the boy's face. It was safe to say that he hadn't ever met anyone quite like Wyatt, and the kid was like a breath of fresh air. It wasn't often that Micah met someone so unique, and one thing he really liked and found himself attracted to was a unique persona. This was going to be an interesting work enviornment, to say the least.

Just then, Mick came into view, aviator sunglasses perched upon her nose. He dark hair was a little messy, but that was Mick for you, and though she looked stylish it was that sort of stylish that just kind of happened and wasn't something she strived for. She had on a pair of pinstriped trousers, obviously mens, but they looked good on her slender frame. A pair of white VANS went along with them, a thin white v-neck t-shirt with a pair of suspenders, and a form fitting blazer over it. She saw Micah and arched a brow, quickly assessing who he was and going over to him with a friendly hand out, a cup of coffee in the other.

"Hi, I'm Michelle James, don't call me Michelle, Mick or even Mickey is fine. Or James. Nice to meet you," she announced.

"Micah Bishop," Micah replied, "Micah or Bishop is good, just don't call me Michelle," he added with a smirk as he shook her hand.

"Ah, funny," Mick said with a grin as she shook his hand, then pulled it back to go drop down into the seat at her desk, which was on the other side of Wyatt's. "How're you Winston?" she asked, keeping her glasses on out of habit. "Emma?"

Like always, Emma nodded and waved a hand up in the air, sort of waiting for Wyatt to answer first. He usually had a lot to say, or little to say, depending on his mood. Usually a lot, more than a little, though, and she liked to hear it.

When Micah actually seemed to get his humor, Wyatt's face lit up. The smile made the back of his neck tingle pleasantly and he recognized the symptoms of attraction. It was more of a scientific realization than an emotional one at this point. As he contemplated if he should say something about it, Mick walked into the picture.

He watched the two interact, trying to pick up on social cues. When the attention turned back to him he wasn't quite prepared for it and he looked surprised. How was he? "Well, I think my luteinizing hormones are working." Because they were certainly working to stimulate the synthesis of testosterone. But he wasn't sure it was appropriate to go into much more detail than that. He looked back down at his coffee, and then started to dig in his desk for a new spiral notebook. He had hundreds of them in his apartment, full of scribbled notes and drawings from his many experiments and observations. He needed to start one on Micah, clearly.

At Wyatt's response, Mick arched a brow and gave him a peculiar look. While she loved the crap out of Wyatt, she couldn't help but find him a little bit odd because... well he just was. And while she was sure most of the random things he said made sense, sometimes she couldn't keep up with the brain of his and she just got lost. This was one of those times.

"Okay," she said after a moment before she plucked her glasses off of her nose and set them down on her desk.

Emma wasn't sure what the comment meant either, and Micah seemed to be trying to figure it out as well. It was probably a rather comical sight, to see three out of the four of them looking so utterly confused.

When he noticed the silence, he looked up again. "The hormone responsible for the triggering of testosterone in the male body, the androgen." It was becoming clear that Wyatt was talking about sex, and male hormones now. He shook his head before making a few notes in his notebook.

Beckett entered with a box as he was prone to do. It was an evidence container and inside were a few key files from their next case. Being the liaison was a big responsibility and he took it very seriously, though he was an exceptionally personable man. Even when he and his wife were going through a messy divorce, he'd remained chipper, never snapping at a single reporter. He made a gesture with his head for everyone to follow him into the briefing room.

Wyatt's words only served a more perplexed look to settle upon Emma and Micah's faces, but Mick smiled a little knowingly. A quiet chuckle escaped her throat, rich and warm, and caused her eyes to light up with amusement.

It was Emma who noticed Beckett first, and she quickly rose to her feet with her coffee in hand. She tapped Wyatt's desk gently, just once, to let him know they were needed before she headed up the stairs towards the briefing room, Mick on her heels.

Micah was definitely itching to get things started. While he'd worked as a homicide detective, this felt mile stones above that. More important. Not that his work as a detective wasn't good work, but it wasn't this work, that was for certain. He waited for Wyatt to get to his feet before he followed, and soon enough a tall thin boy with glasses rushed past them in a hurry.

"Sorry," Jude said to Wyatt as he bumped into him, and Micah reached out to steady the boy by grasping his arm gently. "Late." Jude could sometimes be a little scatterbrained in the mornings. "I'm Jude," he offered to Micah, he released Wyatt's arm to shake Jude's hand.

"Micah," was his reply, "Nice to meet you."

Jude smiled, he was always friendly, and at age twenty-seven he was the closest to Wyatt's age. The two actually got along pretty well, even if Wyatt's brain power could be intimidating at times. Jude liked just about everyone.

"Everyone in the briefing room?" he asked, which got a nod out of Micah, and then the three of them were heading on their way up.

Wyatt understood many things, but he was far from a tech-geek. He'd always been fascinated by the things that Jude could find out from a simple computer screen and a few clicks of the keyboard. When Micah caught his arm, he looked down at where their bodies were connected. It made things around him go quiet, like someone had stuffed cotton in his ears for just a second. But then things were moving again, and Wyatt was swept easily into the briefing room where Beckett had already set up and Liam was already sitting in one of the chairs.

Beckett handed out a few files, letting them slide across the table. When Wyatt opened his, he was confronted with a photograph of body parts in a cardboard box that seemed to be sitting on the floor of a dusty old house. He winced and looked away. He still had a hard time with some of the gore that his job entailed. "That was taken in an abandoned house about 10 miles south of Huntsville, Alabama. A group of teenagers were trespassing, typical partying, and stumbled upon what appears to be the lair of a killer."

If Micah had been the type of person who denied things, after physically touching Wyatt, he wouldn't have been able to deny anything. But he'd known he was attracted to the kid based off of looks, then he was fascinated with what went on in that head of his, and now that he'd touched him he knew that the attraction was a lot stronger than he bargained for. Before he could think too long on it, though, he sat down at the table and reached out to pluck up one of the files as it slid across the table. When he opened the file up, he arched a brow and studied it for a moment. He was long use to dead bodies, but the look on his face clearly stated that he didn't like what he was looking at.

Emma pursed her lips together as she looked down at the photo, then lifted her gaze up to Beckett with a furrowed brow.

"Sounds like those kids were lucky nothing happened to them," she said after a moment.

"Huntsville? That's ironic," Mick said as she leaned back in her chair with her file in her lap.

"Looks to be all females," Micah murmered as he glanced up at everyone, "Doesn't look like all of the... parts are there, were there some missing?"

Beckett always felt a little guilty, as if he was constantly the bearer of bad news, even though it was his job. Especially when he saw Wyatt's face crumple a little at every photo he showed. Frowning a little at Mick's comment, he didn't say anything about it. Sometimes he loved her sense of humor, sometimes he didn't. "Yes, there were more boxes spread through the house, but even after the coroner was able to match all of the parts into groups of single bodies, there were parts missing entirely."

Flipping through the rest of the photographs, Wyatt counted up what he suspected was the number of lives they were talking about here. "Four women total, it seems? No limbs appear to be missing." He would never get used to that being an option.

Nodding, Beckett turned on the slides and clicked through photographs of four women, all college age, but of varying hair color and appearance. "The PD managed to identify all of the victims, but none of them were local. It seems like the house itself is just a home base but isn't necessarily related to the location of the killings."

Hearing that, Mick furrowed her brow a little bit and twirled a pencil in between her fingers. There were parts missing entirely, but no limbs?

"What's missing, then?" she questioned, tipping her head up to look at Beckett, "...Heads?" she added, quirking a brow with a frown on her face. "Torsos?"

If those were the parts that were missing, it was hard to say what the killer had chosen to do with them, and Emma didn't like the options. It was possible he'd dumped them somewhere else, but what if he'd kept them? It made her stomach lurch in the tiniest of ways, but she didn't look it. Jude, on the other hand, looked a little green. Being the tech-guru, he still wasn't as use to some of the things that the rest of the team was.

"All of his victims are different, aside from being around the same age range," Micah commented as Beckett clicked through each photograph. All the women were smiling in their photos. It was hard to think of them as gone, but they were. "Usually serial killers are very specific with their victim, maybe this one isn't, though."

"It's possible they have something in common that isn't of the physical variety," Emma piped in, still going through the photos in her file.

"Organs were missing," Beckett said flatly. "Their hearts, eyes, ovaries, and kidneys. All of the bodies had these items missing and nothing more."

Liam had been sitting quietly until now, observing the goings on and going through the brief. When he finally spoke, his voice was without emotion. People thought he was exceedingly cold, but he just had to do that to keep it under control. "Agent Parker has a good point. We'll need to focus hard on the victims in this case and what exactly it is that connects them. Agent Winston, I'd like you to take Agent Bishop around to interview the families. Gather as much information about them that you can. Jude, we'll be counting on you to get what you can from their records. The rest of us can look around the house and see if we can't come up with something the police may have missed."

Jude flipped past the pictures so that he could get to the victims names as he offered a little nod of his head. "I'll go get on that now, I'll let you know what I come up with," Jude said quietly as he got to his feet.

"Looks like we're going to Huntsville," Mick said as she closed her file up.

When Micah heard that he was going to be paired off with Wyatt, he couldn't but be happy. He wanted to know more about the younger man, wanted to see how his brain worked and how he figured things.

Wyatt glanced at Micah. He thought the move was surreptitious, but in reality it was anything but smooth. To have a specific assignment with him was exciting and terrifying. The worst part was that he wouldn't have any time to bombard Emma or Jude with questions about what he should do in such a situation.

When Liam stood up, the rest of the crew was free to leave and grab their away bags. Their plane would leave shortly. Wyatt headed back to his desk and rooted around underneath it to gather his things in preparation to leave.

Mick grabbed her bag from beneath her desk, and she was rifling around for her cell phone charger when Wyatt came by to go to his desk. "I'm sure your hormones will be working doubletime, Winston," she teased with a smirk and a wink. Mick was never subtle, it just wasn't her style. She viewed Wyatt like a little brother and her habit of teasing him was never going to go away.

"He's--" Wyatt's cheeks flushed and he shook his head. "He's having a very physical affect on me. I don't know what to do." His eyes glanced around to be sure no one was within earshot. He was certain he didn't want the whole office to know what was going on. He treated this more like a medical problem than anything else. Mick's teasing was almost lost on him sometimes, but he did catch it this time. It served to fluster him as he opened his "Micah Notebook" and jotted this down.

Mick couldn't help but chuckle, a thoroughly amused look settling upon her face. She hadn't ever seen Wyatt flustered over another person before, not in... this sort of way. It was really sort of adorable.

"Aw," she cooed, reaching over to pinch at one of his cheeks playfully before she pulled back. "He's an attractive guy. I'm not even into guys and I can say that," she added as she found her charger and shoved it into her bag. "Have you ever been attracted to a guy before?" she asked after a moment, keeping her voice down as she glanced over at Wyatt.

He scrunched up his face when Mick pinched his cheek, but he never minded the attention. When she asked that question though he seemed to retreat back into himself, fiddling with his pen. "I've never really been attracted to anyone before." It didn't bother him that the first was a man, it just bothered him that he didn't understand the exact mechanics of why it was this man.

"Interesting," Mick replied, and though she wanted to pry about the status of Wyatt's virginity, she kept that to herself. She was sure that she all ready knew the answer, anyway, so there wasn't really a need to ask about it. "I had my first crush on a girl in the third grade. Wendy Quinn, totally hot little redhead," she said with enthusiasm as she nodded her head. "We kissed."

"In the third grade?" He looked a little surprised. "Seventy percent of people had their first kiss by age fifteen." Wyatt twisted a little in his seat. He was among the thirty percent. "But I skipped past a lot of the normal kissing situations." Things like school dances, dating, friends in general, even a lot of school since he learned so quickly. He perked up a little though and grinned at Mick. "Did you know that one kiss can contain up to 278 different kinds of bacteria?"
