To Callaway, Backdated
"Are you sure I can't talk to him?" Parker said, clutching his manuscript to his chest. The publishing company had sent it back with a rejection letter and this was the last one Parker was going to take sitting down. He hadn't ever thought of getting an agent to do this sort of thing. All he knew about the writing industry was that he wanted in and damn if these people didn't tell him why his work wasn't good enough to get published when things like Twilight were being printed.

"No, Mr. Reigh. Mr. Sanders is in a meeting right now and even if he wasn't, it isn't likely that he would be able to take your request. He's very busy. Please, resubmit your manuscript at a later time." The woman was used to dealing with desperate writers who had been recently rejected by the company. Parker grit his teeth together and could hardly keep from slamming the stack of papers and the deceptively blithe manila envelope in which they'd sent his rejection down on the desk. He stood there, refusing to leave and the receptionist looked up at him blankly, stubbornly as their stand off began.

Parker took a deep breath and then exhaled it, trying to release his frustration. Callaway was right, but Parker wasn't very good at putting off his impulses.

Kissing him one more time, he wriggled out from underneath him, but kept his arms around him. He was going to have to calm down a little and Callaway's weight against was not helping that process. "Okay," he said with a nod. "I think I like this."

Everything about Parker was unique and adorable. Callaway smiled through the dim light as the boy got settled against him, and he kept an arm looped around Parker's waist.

"Do you want something to sleep in? You'll swim in it, but it'll be cute," he said softly.

"I definitely think that clothes would be a good idea." He couldn't get comfortable enough to sleep in his jeans and god forbid he be naked all night next to the most attractive man he'd ever met. He bit his bottom lip and peered at Callaway through the poor lighting. "Are you sure you don't just--want a blowjob or something? I mean, honestly Callaway, I'd do just about anything you wanted right now." He would need one more stop to put him down for the night and this last effort was one about control. If he could just get the other man under his thumb with sex, then maybe he wouldn't feel so alarmed by this situation and he could relegate the man into the category of 'just like everyone else.'

He pushed his lips in against Callaway's neck and made a little sound that was pure sex as he rubbed up against him, thigh slipping over to rest on the older man's hips. "Absolutely anything."

Callaway smiled faintly and closed his eyes as Parker pressed close to him. He sighed quietly before he gently to pull away so that he could get to his feet.

"You are very tempting," he grinned before he went over to snag some pajamas from one of his drawers. He grabbed a pair for himself as well and handed one pair to Parker. "Here ya go. I'm gonna go put the food away."

Where did you say Reagan hid the wedding ring?

In any other scenario, Parker would have taken it as a rejection and flipped out. He would have left and never looked back. But the way Callaway said no only made him want to stay even more. He captured the pajamas and waited until Callaway was gone to change into them.

The man had definitely been right; the pajamas were too big for Parker, but mostly in the length department. The hem of the pants pooled around his feet and he padded across the floor to crawl onto the bed. Laying down on his back, he let the sleeves cover his hands.

Callaway made quick work of cleaning up the kitchen and putting the food away, and once he turned off all of the lights except the hall light, he headed back towards his bedroom. He slipped out of his clothes and into his pajamas, then went to brush his teeth before he moved to crawl into the bed with Parker.

"You look cute in these," he smiled as he tugged at one of the long sleeves. "Are you comfortable?"

"Yes," he nodded and was surprised when he realized he was telling the truth. He'd calmed down considerably and when Callaway pulled on his sleeve, he rolled over onto his side and scooted closer. "Even moreso now. What time do you get up? Do you have anything to do tomorrow?"

"I'll probably wakeup around 9, maybe 10," Callaway said with a lazy yawn as he pulled Parker close to him and made sure that they were both cozy beneath the covers. "I don't have to be anywhere. What about you? Do you have to be anywhere?"

Parker shook his head. "Nope, no place important to be." He really didn't consider his job as a bus boy to be very important. He just wouldn't show up, thinking he could always find another crap job to tide him over until his big break came. He hated that job anyway and it gave him some satisfaction to think he had a good reason to skip out on it.

Callaway dipped his head down and pressed a chaste, soft kiss to Parker's lips before he settled back down against the pillow. He'd held lots of men while he slept before, but this felt different, and he liked it.

"Good, then I'll make us breakfast," he said softly. "Are you warm enough?"

Exhaling a calm breath, Parker smiled. "Getting there," he said as he felt Callaway's body heat start to sink into him.

There was a long silence as Parker felt himself drifting in and out of snoozing. As his brain relaxed and his mouth got a little looser, he mumbled. "I'm really glad I met you today," he said softly.

The words made Callaway smile, and his heart felt like it jumped a million leaps up into the air. He dipped his chin down and kissed at the top of Parker's head.

"Me too," he agreed quietly.
