Who: bb!Roxas and bb!Nero
When: Um like 10 years before the current canon storylines I guess? And like, late afternoon I guess
Where: Twilight Town's sandlot. Obviously, this is very much AU, if you haven't guessed already, lawl
Open/Closed: Closed

It was just another day in Twilight Town, the constant evening sun giving the town a soft orange glow. And like a lot of days in Twilight Town, five year old Roxas was wandering the streets. He was happy actually, because he'd finally saved up enough money from chores to buy himself a sea-salt ice cream bar, so he did just that.

He was on his way from Market Street to the Sandlot, carrying the ice cream in one hand while eating it, and in his other hand he dragged a little red wagon behind him. The red wagon was filled with little plastic shovels, buckets, and sand castle molds. He always waited until later in the afternoon to come out and play because, well, he wanted to avoid the other kids, who liked to make fun of Roxas because he was smaller than them. Sometimes he was able to avoid them, other times he wasn't so lucky. But hey, at least today he had his ice cream. That made everything better.

	Nero nodded. "Yeah, and I can bring some of mine! They can guard our castle!" Maybe they could do that tomorrow. That'd be fun. Nero wasn't worried about kids trying to break their toys. They'd deal with them, he knew. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	"We can build an even bigger one than this too." Nero said, giving Roxas a bright smile. He had a toy dumptruck at home. He could bring that with him next time. Nero really liked his new friend. Roxas led Nero across Market Street towards the train station. Since Nero was new here, Roxas doubted that he'd been at the top of the clock tower. Roxas was often told by his parents not to go up there but it was so much fun, he snuck up there anyway whenever he could. He loved the view.

Once they got to the train station, Roxas parked his wagon underneath the stairwell, hidden by the eyes of anyone just passing by.

"Put yours here with mine." Roxas instructed, motioning to the spot.

	Nero hadn't seen all of Twilight Town yet, so this part was very new to him. He followed Roxas, taking in everything around them. Nero did as Roxas instructed, looking over at the blond with a bright smile. He couldn't wait to see what Roxas was talking about. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

Once Nero put his wagon away, Roxas led the way with a bright smile to the stairs. He couldn't wait for Nero to see the amazing view from the top of the clock tower.

"Come on, this way!" He cried enthusiastically, waving for Nero to follow him up the stairs. If anyone else would have seen him, they probably would have scolded him for running up the stairs but, well, he was excited.

Nero followed Roxas up the stairs quickly, laughing the whole way. He'd never been to the top of the clocktower, so he was excited to follow Roxas up there. His mother probably would have killed him if she knew he was doing this, but it was okay, right? They'd be careful and be back in time for dinner.

His eyes followed the staircase all the way up as they climbed it, headed for the top. "Wow, this place is pretty high up." He commented. Maybe it was because they were both still so small, but it felt like it was taking forever to get to the top. "I bet you could see the whole world from the top!"

Roxas knew they would be okay and he wouldn't let Nero fall off or anything.

After rushing his tiny legs all the way up, they came to the side of the tower. He panted as he turned the corner to the front of the tower, which overlooked the entire town. And the sunset gave the town a soft, orange glow.

He turned back to make sure Nero was making it up the stairs okay.

"Be careful!" He called. "We're on top of the world! But come on, you gotta see this!"

Nero followed Roxas around the corner, catching sight of the top of the tower, looking out over the view. Twilight Town looked even more impressive from this high up, the soft glow of the town's constant sunset catching on all the buildings, giving them their own glow.

"Wow!" Nero said, in awe of the sight before him. "This is cool!" He was really glad Roxas had shown him this. This place was amazing.

Nero joined Roxas on the ledge, looking out over the town. "Don't worry. I won't. And I won't tell anyone." He didn't want his new friend to get in trouble now did he? "We should come up here all the time....When we know we won't get caught, of course."

This had to be Nero's new favorite placed in his new home too. The fact that he was now sharing it with a friend made it all the more important to him. Today was turning out pretty wonderful. It was a good thing his mom shooed him out to play when she did...

Roxas smiled. What Nero said made him happy. His best kept secret could be shared with a new friend. He was one of the few kids bigger than Roxas to not push him around and Roxas couldn't remember having this much fun with anyone else.

"Yeah!" He agreed. "This can be our secret spot! I hide up here when I don't want the big kids to find me and push me around. But you're not like those guys."

	"Well, I won't let those big kids push you around anymore." Nero said with a nod. He was a big kid himself. He could protect Roxas from the others. "I won't let them hurt one of my friends." As they talked, Nero idly swung his tiny legs over on the ledge. "We can keep this place aaalll to ourselves." He said. He liked that idea. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)
