Paging~ Captain Oblivious. ([info]vaisey) wrote in [info]riddikulus,
Charlie felt his stomach drop as Melanie started coming up with an excuse. He knew it was just because this was so far off, but he couldn’t help but wonder if it was because of the kiss. Of course it was, but… was it that bad? He shook his head, ready to say something that would most likely get caught in his throat and walk off. Though Ackerley—Charlie blushed as he heard him say something about a relationship. She’d told him. Oh Merlin, how many people had she told? Charlie wanted to groan but at the same time he couldn’t help but notice that the Ravenclaw was giving him an out. Melanie didn’t necessarily want to talk to him, and yet she was being ushered towards him, and before he knew it Ackerley was out of the door—although he wasn’t headed in the direction of the Library. Odd.

Charlie took a deep breath, determined to not loose his cool. This was his chance, he needed to explain, well, everything. He turned back to Melanie and attempted to give her a smile, though it didn’t really convey the right emotion as it ran across his face. He opened his mouth and closed it again. He couldn’t quite talk yet. He shook his head quickly, put on another smile and attempted again.

“I know that you don’t want to talk to me,” it was painfully obvious, “but uhm, I need to talk to you. There’s just, some things I wanted to explain, that couldn’t have been explained properly through the journals…” Charlie let out a breath and looked down slightly. This wasn’t going as he had planned. “Somewhere more private? If you don’t mind?” Charlie leaned forward, although Melanie was close enough thanks to Ackerley, and grabbed Melanie’s hand. A bit forward, perhaps, but this was important. He turned around and started to make his way through the main entrance, her hand still in his, headed towards the classrooms just through a nearby corridor. Charlie tilted his as he saw Stewart go into the hallway that they were headed. He supposed it was just as fair, he wasn’t intending to hurt Melanie, but he was used to people being hesitant when around him. He was a Slytherin, after all.

As he made it quickly towards the Hallway, Melanie behind him, he let out a sigh of relief as he saw that the first classroom was open. Maybe things were starting to go his way. Charlie went inside the classroom, and gave Melanie what was supposed to be a comforting look, as he closed the door, and started performing a few charms so that they wouldn’t be overheard. “You can sit down wherever, and you can leave at any time,” Charlie said over his shoulder, “I just… didn’t want anyone to hear what I have to say. The door’s unlocked though. And your friend is somewhere in the hallway. I don’t want you to feel like you’re trapped or anything.” He sighed at this. Would he have to defend himself so much if he were in any other house? He turned around, and placed his arms on a desk, leaning forward towards where Melanie had decided to be. He looked at her for a couple of seconds, no longer worrying about frightening her or looking conspicuous. If there was a chance she would leave he might as well enjoy this while he could. He took in her face, trying not to analyse the emotion on it, the colour of her eyes, the way her hair was slightly messy, a strand of it misplaced, and a small black dot on her cheek that could only be ink. He smiled and then took a deep breath. Enjoyment over, now it was time to take care of why he’d wanted to talk to her so much.
