Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
Who: Ginny and Ron
When: Sunday Oct 12th, afternoon, following practice
Where: Quidditch Pitch
What: Just a bit of sibling bonding
Rating: PG (as if Ron would let it get worse. Ginny's just a baby!)
Status: Complete

Ginny put her broom beside her and stretched out on the ground, looking up at Ron with a squint. He really had come into his own as a Quidditch player, though his confidence was so mercurial, and it affected his play so much. It wasn't like that for Ginny: once she stepped onto the pitch, the real world melted away. All there was in the world was this game; even Harry stopped being her Harry, Ron stopped being her brother. The game was separate from everything else, and she loved how freeing it felt. Charlie said he felt that way, too. How in the world were they related to Ron?

She smiled at her brother affectionately, though, and broke off a piece of grass, enjoying the quiet that had settled after practice and the chance to just talk with Ron for a bit. It had been a bit too long since she had been alone with him, and they had a few things to discuss. "That was a good practice. We're going to win this year, I know it," she said confidently.

Ron felt his face flush at Ginny's compliments. They'd never really spoken to each other about this stuff before and they hadn't really paid each other those kinds of compliments either. It was a bit odd but still nice, of course. Especially nice to hear from Ginny.

"Thanks, Gin." He said softly with a smile, pulling her over to him to give her a one armed, loving and brotherly hug.

Ginny smiled. Fred and George would be right naffed if they knew there was tender hugging between Weasleys that didn't involve their mum, but...Ginny was Molly's daughter, after all. Besides, she got to be caring and soft with her friends; it was nice to be this way with Ron, too.

"Anytime, Ron. And I meant it," she added, rubbing his back.
