Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
WHO: Ron Weasley and Harry Potter
WHEN: Evening, After dinner and before bed
WHERE: Kitchens
SUMMARY: Ron and Harry sneak down for a snack
RATING: G?
STATUS: In progress

After skiving off his homework for the evening and going for a fly outside (flying in the dark was just as fun as flying in the rain), Ron decided he wasn't quite tired enough for bed but he didn't want to resort to doing homework to keep him busy. So, on a mission to find his best friend, he returned to the common room, hoping Harry might be up for a trip down to the kitchens for a late night snack.

Bounding up the stairs, he threw open the dorm door and looked towards Harry's bed. The curtains were closed as usual but he called out anyways.

"Oi, mate, you in there? Feel like a sneak down to the kitchens?"

"Perhaps you need to be more proactive Ron," Harry suggested. "Speaking as someone who was proactive, I can say: it can work out perfectly. Be the chaser and not the seeker you know? Not the one waiting, be the one making it happen."

"I don't see a point to that when the person I'd be 'chasing' after doesn't want me in the first place, Harry. Never did, never will." Ron was suddenly very vulnerable. Talking about this thing always made him that way. He hoped Hermione might feel something for him but deep down he couldn't believe she would... something was always telling him he wasn't good enough.

"Whatever." He said, rather gloomily, fiddling with a fork on the counter.

"You don't know she doesn't fancy you, this is just your nerves talking," Harry pointed out. "You've never asked. And you've never really made a move for her to say yes or no to."

"Because I know there's no bloody point." Ron said firmly, tossing the fork aside and letting out a sigh of relief when Dobby returned with Harry's snack and his vanilla cake.

"Thanks, Dobby." He said, grabbing a new fork and immediately digging in. "Doesn't matter anyhow." Ron said, looking at Harry. "We're going to the ball as friends."
