Louis was determined. He as going to beat Gwen at this bet if it killed him. No regrets. So he'd done what any normal person would have done. He was going to make sure he was able to beat her, no matter what the cost. So he walked through the halls with the parchment he'd been given by the head of his house, humming to himself.

When he reached the office for History, he knocked on the door and waited. Nothing was going to stop him. It was a challenge and there was a bit of Gryffindor in him, after all.

	"We grew apart," Kiernan said, shrugging. He didn't really think he should be taking about his failed marriage with a student, but it wasn't like Louis knew how to mind his own business. Kiernan blinked at Louis for a moment, then laughed. "Do I come off as gay?" he asked. "Is it the hair? She didn't catch me with anyone and she knew I liked men as well as women when we got married."

He looked down at the tests he wasn't marking, then opened his desk drawer and dug for a moment before he found a picture of his ex and daughter, smiling and waving at the camera. "That's them. She chose Velma's name, not me. I wouldn't saddle a child with the name Velma Viiperi."

	Louis stood up and moved around the desk. He sat on the corner of it and looked down at the picture. "She's a cute kid. One day, I'm going to have cute kids too. With a surrogate, of course. "She is," Kiernan said, looking down at the picture of Velma and smiling. "We've worked out a visitation schedule. She'll be coming to stay with me during the summer, but for now I'll see her some weekends. It helps that we can apparate and use the Floo network to travel."

He put the picture down. "I lived with them while I was getting settled here, so I got to spend Christmas with her. We want the divorce to be easy on her."

Kiernan found it a bit weird that Louis was running his fingers through his hair. He moved away from him just a little. He didn't need a teenager touching him like that. Well. Maybe in some ways he did, but a teenagers shouldn't have been touching him like that.

"Nothing wrong with looking gay," Kiernan said, getting to his feet. He was taller than Louis. It made it even harder for his hair to be touched. "Do you want lunch from the house-elves?"

	Louis frowned for a moment, looking back at the other man. Was he really so offended by someone touching his hair? He shrugged and got off of the desk, picking up his clothes and stuffing them into his bag. "It's fine. I'll go to the Great Hall." He told him. "I'll make other people uncomfortable."
