Scorpius was conflicted. He couldn't stop thinking about Albus and what they'd done and he'd been avoiding Caspar because even thinking about the other boy made him feel guilty. Even if he didn't regret having sex with Albus at all. Or he didn't, but also he kind of did because then he'd had to watch Albus and Kit Smith walking around attached at the hip that morning, looking rumpled, and it was kind of obvious what they'd done together. Maybe because he'd been the first person to make Albus look that way. Maybe because half of Hufflepuff was giggling about Albus spending the night.

Albus was happy with Kit. Caspar was sweet and talented and handsome. It wasn't like Scorpius was settling. He and Albus were friends. Just friends. Albus loved him as a friend. Once the fact that he and Albus had had sex was less prominent in Scorpius's mind, he probably wouldn't feel so heart-sick over the whole thing. So he waited for Caspar's last class of the day to get out, then approached him as he left the classroom. "Hey," he said, giving the other boy a slightly apologetic smile. "I've been terrible since we got back to Hogwarts. Completely missing in action. Want to find someplace to... study?"

"No, you didn't," Xavier said, staring Caspar down. "I would have remembered something like that. You and Ana got in a fight because she wanted to break up and date Brutus, and then you left the table." He glanced at Scorpius briefly, then looked back at Caspar. "Someone must have said something very persuasive to make you change your mind."

Scorpius was a little confused. He knew they had trouble getting along, but he felt like he was missing something about the conversation. He wrapped an arm around Caspar. "Coming out is hard, Xavier. We should both be supporting him."

	"Actually, you did." Caspar told him as he looked back at Xavier. "You told me that I shouldn't be dating Scorpius if I didn't want to be in the papers and if I didn't want people to know I'm gay." Xavier pursed his lips, trying not to feel annoyed by the look of surprised happiness on Scorpius's face. He wanted to punch it off. Or ask if his cock in Caspar's arse had had something to do with him coming out. "How sweet."

Scorpius leaned down and kissed Caspar for a long moment, then laughed and pulled back. "Sorry," he said. "That's... I'm glad you care about me that much. I care about you a lot too."

Caspar smiled at Scorpius and began to push him so he'd start walking again. "We'll see you later, Xavier." He still felt guilty. He didn't want to look at Xavier anymore. He closed his eyes and walked with Scorpius a little way.

"Your brother drives me mental." Caspar admitted and then started to walk towards Hufflepuff. "We can stay in my dorm tonight to avoid him."

"I..." Scorpius wasn't sure how he felt about staying in Hufflepuff, but it didn't mean sex. It didn't have to mean sex. "Okay," he agreed. "It's probably less dangerous than you staying in Slytherin. Some of my roommates are... Well, they're Slytherins."

He looked down at Caspar. "I'm sorry Xavier's being so weird with you. I don't understand it at all. He's not usually like that."

"No," Scorpius said. "Of course not." He squeezed Caspar's hand. "Are you sure you're ready for everyone to think we're having sex? You just decided to come out. He's a big step."

So was them actually having sex, and after what had happened with Albus Scorpius thought they should be sure. "Doesn't mean we can't spend time in Hufflepuff together, though. There's less people to stare there."

He ran a hand through his hair. "I guess I'm just worried that if I tell you I'm not ready to have sex yet it's going to go like last time. You'll leave or ask me to leave and I don't want that."

Scorpius gave Caspar a slightly surprised look. "You... love me?" he repeated, surprised. He really hadn't been expecting that. He leaned forward, kissing Caspar for a long moment.

"You didn't have to be embarrassed. I'm the one who wasn't ready. And... I'm pretty sure I'm still not, but I'd like to spend the night with you anyway. I want to be close to you. I really care about you."

Scorpius nodded, feeling guilty about the Albus thing again. Caspar was a much better boyfriend than he was. From now on, the ring Caspar had given him for Christmas didn't come off, and Scorpius was going to spend his time becoming good enough for him.

"Okay," he said, kissing Caspar again and wrapping his arms around him. "Let's go to Hufflepuff. I've never been in your common room before. This is going to be fun."

"It's not as stylish as Slytherin, but we hold our own." Caspar assured him as he dragged him to the Hufflepuff opening. He tapped the beat onto the barrels and then pushed open the door with a smile.

"Welcome to Hufflepuff." Caspar told him as they walked into the room. It was homey. Large black couches and chairs with yellow trim and banners with badgers on them. People were playing games and talking loudly. "We're right next the the kitchens."
