Scorpius was conflicted. He couldn't stop thinking about Albus and what they'd done and he'd been avoiding Caspar because even thinking about the other boy made him feel guilty. Even if he didn't regret having sex with Albus at all. Or he didn't, but also he kind of did because then he'd had to watch Albus and Kit Smith walking around attached at the hip that morning, looking rumpled, and it was kind of obvious what they'd done together. Maybe because he'd been the first person to make Albus look that way. Maybe because half of Hufflepuff was giggling about Albus spending the night.

Albus was happy with Kit. Caspar was sweet and talented and handsome. It wasn't like Scorpius was settling. He and Albus were friends. Just friends. Albus loved him as a friend. Once the fact that he and Albus had had sex was less prominent in Scorpius's mind, he probably wouldn't feel so heart-sick over the whole thing. So he waited for Caspar's last class of the day to get out, then approached him as he left the classroom. "Hey," he said, giving the other boy a slightly apologetic smile. "I've been terrible since we got back to Hogwarts. Completely missing in action. Want to find someplace to... study?"

Scorpius glanced at Albus and Kit. A group date sounded... He looked back at Caspar, who looked happy, and nodded. "Yeah," he agreed. "It sounds like fun." He leaned down, kissing Caspar for a moment and nipping at his bottom lip as he drew back, smiling at him. He looked up at Ana. "Although I'm not sure Brutus will agree. He's not really the group date type."

"I can try asking," Ana said, waving a hand. "He's a lot sweeter than he pretends to be. He acts tough, but he's squishy inside, really. He's going to audition for choir." She looked at Scorpius for a moment. "Are you going to audition for choir, Scorpius?"

Scorpius blinked at Ana for a moment, then laughed. "Me? No, I don't think so," he said. "I'm not really a singer."

"It's okay that Scorpius doesn't want to try out for choir. He's got his talent elsewhere. He's really great at Ancient Runes." Caspar smiled fondly at Scorpius and then kissed him. "He's going to be my little adventurer one day. And I'll have to worry about him constantly getting hurt."

Albus frowned. His stomach was twisting with jealous. "Scorpius would never get hurt. He's smart and cautious and.." He paused. "He's too good to ever mess up."

Scorpius looked at Albus and smiled. "I don't even really think I'll end up being a curse-breaker," he said. "I just like Ancient Runes. And I like the idea of it, but I'm the oldest so unless Cepheus or Aurora volunteers to handle all the Malfoy stuff it's my responsibility."

Kit glanced at Albus, putting his defense of Scorpius down to the fact that the two of them were best friends. "A Slytherin curse-breaker would probably get hurt a lot less then a Gryffindor one," he agreed, then looked at Scorpius. "As far as I know, Slytherins don't have the same reputation for jumping into things headfirst without looking."

Scorpius laughed at Albus, tugging gently on Caspar's curls. "It's probably a good thing that Albus pushes me to do what I really want. I'll have to bring it up to my parents eventually. Charlie will back me up. I didn't even know I was good at Ancient Runes when I first decided I wanted to be a curse-breaker. I just thought Bill was really cool."

"That's right," Kit said, looking between the two of them. He could see why Caspar was getting a bit ruffled. Scorpius and Albus were close. Kit was going to be the boyfriend who didn't jump to conclusions about it. "The two of you are like... step-cousins, right?"

Scorpius glanced at Albus and Kit's joined hands and then looked at Caspar and smiled. "Thanks," he said. He kissed Caspar again, touching his cheek. "And I know you're going to be a big star, which is way more exciting than me wanting to be a curse-breaker."

Ana was feeling a little left out from all the cuddling. She leaned against Caspar and kissed his cheek. "When you want to, you're amazing at acting straight. You have nothing to worry about."

Brutus walked into the Hufflepuff common room and glanced at all the people who were sitting together. He arched a brow and then fell down beside her. "I'm done with Quidditch practice." He told her, then wrapped an arm around her.

Albus looked back at Scorpius, giving him a hurt look, then turned his attention to Kit. "Do you want to head up to bed? It's getting late."

Ana smiled at Brutus, leaning against him and touching his chest. "Your mohawk is all windswept," she said. "It's very manly." She reached up to run her fingers over it, then kissed him for a long moment.

Kit looked at Albus, hoping heading to bed meant more than just bed, and nodded. "Yeah, definitely," he said, grinning and leaning in to give Albus a kiss. "Suddenly I'm feeling tired."

"Already?" Scorpius tried to keep a hold on his jealousy, but he couldn't stop from questioning Albus and Kit just... going off together. "It's barely nine."

Brutus wasted no time, pulling her into his lap and grinning. He kissed her deeply for a long moment, hand sliding down to her bum to grope it. "Did you miss me while I was gone?"

Albus looked back at Scorpius and frowned. "I'm sure he and I won't go to sleep right away. It's called alone time with your boyfriend." He pointed out and then stood up, holding his hand out to Kit.

Caspar looked back at Scorpius, giving him a concerned look. "What's wrong?"

Ana wasn't used to having a boyfriend who actually felt her up like this. It made her feel like a real woman. "Of course," she said, kissing his nose. "Especially since I was watching Kit and Caspar cuddle their boyfriends."

Kit took Albus's hand, kissing him briefly and then walking up towards the dorms with him. "Are you okay?" he asked. "Nothing's wrong, is it?"

"Nothing," Scorpius said, looking away from Albus and Kit and forcing a smile for Caspar. "It's just a little weird seeing Brutus groping Ana."

Ana made a soft sound when Brutus touched her under her skirt, smiling at him. "You shouldn't say such dirty things in the middle of the common room," she said, laughing and kissing him again. "I've never been to Slytherin. It sounds like fun."

"Do you want to see the nurse?" Kit asked, giving Albus a concerned look. If Albus had a funny stomach having sex was probably a bad idea. "Or we could just lay together for a while."

"No, just..." Good boyfriends didn't lie, but Scorpius was also a Slytherin. He could be the Slytherin equivalent of a good boyfriend and lie to save Caspar from getting hurt over something Albus was obviously over. "Things are a bit weird between us right now, honestly. We both kind of got annoyed at each other for spending the break with our boyfriends, even though we were both doing it. It's a stupid thing. We'll get over it. It's nothing to worry about."

Ana laughed. "You are so straight," she told Brutus, shaking her head. "I'm not used to it at all. All my friends who are boys are so gay. Or... I don't know. Into musicals." She kissed his cheek. "People who think we're fucking are only half-wrong."

Kit kissed Albus back for a moment, then opened the door to their dorm. "Good. I'll be your own private Pomfrey if I need to be."

Scorpius kissed Caspar back and then gave him a small smile. "Of course I am," he said. "I have you. I can hold your hand in front of everyone and take you on dates. I don't need anything else to make me happy."
