Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
Hey! Okay, I'm turning seventeen next month and I've finally gotten my mom's permission to get a tattoo. I need something that I could easily cover for times I'd need to be formal or professional. Andddd I want something that I will LOVE. I love colorful, wacky tattoos. But I'm really lame and have less than enough ideas.

I'm on the left.

That is basically me. Any ideas on where to get it, what colors would look good, or what to get would be much appreciated. I don't want to do this unless I'm positive I will love it.
Quotes, pictures, symbols, anything?
:) thanks, guys.

What things do you like?
Movies, books etc?

that's the thing, i love so many!
my favorite tattoo i've seen is http://photos-013.ll.facebook.com/photos-ll-sf2p/v142/18/112/1652400013/n1652400013_14517_301.jpg, but i'm not gutsy enough for something like that.

i love all the classic novels and chuck palahniuk books the most, though.

I honestly would not get a tattoo with only a month to go. Wait and make sure you really want it. I had pictures of some of my tattoo ideas on my wall for more then a year before I actually decided.

No, I'm not..I was only stating my age haha. I definitely want to plan it out entirely and make sure I will absolutely love it.

Oh okay lol =]

I got scared, a lot of teens get a tattoo when they turn 18 and usually end up hating it later.

what I did, I searched around on deviantart [I'm pretty sure you don't have to be a member of the site to search around] and just found a bunch of different designs I liked and tried to either like mix some together or just for inspiration.
Some places that you could get it that would be easy to hide; ankle or feet, upper thigh, lower back/ hip [but those will stretch if you ever get pregnant] .. and perhaps even like behind your ear? if you tend to wear your hair down a lot.

but i did the same, i wanted my tattoo since seventh grade and i had pictures of it all over my wall, but i still waited six months after i turned eighteen to get it.

I'm going to hop on the bandwagon here - make sure it's something you really, really love because it'll be there forever unless you can afford the thousands of dollars for laser removal.

Since you mentioned you really liked Palahniuk novels, are there any quotes or scenes that really stick out in your mind? Something that's had a big effect on you as a person that you'd like to remember?

Also, locations that can be easily covered: hips, sides, back, ankle (a little difficult if you're prone to wearing skirts or shorts in the summer), etc.

I won't get it for a while, I was just saying how old I am (not that i'm actually GETTING it in a month.) :]
I was thinking about Chuck P. quotes, though. Thanks!

look on bmezine.com
Save anything/everything you like. Even if its only the colors or shading.

Just keeping it in the back of your mind and writing things down when they seem neat to you.

Sometimes I'll think something would be really cool, then the more i think about it the less i like it and vice versa.

Bring everything you have, pictures, quotes, lyrics, ideas, etc to an artist (set up a consultation). They can definitly help you think of something.

If you don't know what you want as a tattoo, you probably shouldn't be getting one.

I'm not going to just take someones idea and run to get the tattoo. I am a fairly intelligent lady, and I will take my time to figure out what I want and where I want it.
