The day Arthur was told about the death of Asherah shouldn't have been a shock. She had turned into a joy for Atlantis over time. She had become a teacher and friend for many in the city.
And then Devil Ray caught her. She had been with a guard and some noble children teaching them about ancient Atlantis. She fought and died to protect him. When word spread a few people who had come to think of Asherah as Ash their friend decided that tonight they wouldn't be heroes for vengeance had to be taken.
And a King agreed with them. Atlantis would not forget their Princess.
