Caradoc...shut up
She was pretty horrible at birthdays. Or, well--her boyfriend's birthdays, anyway.

The first one with Ben, she'd forgotten about it because of exams, and the second, well--they kind of loathed each other. With Remus, she hadn't been dating him, and barely made it to Valentine's without that falling through, so. With all of her newly found free time, Emmeline had determinedly decided that she was going to do a good job this time.

Which was why her patience had run terribly thin, and she couldn't wait until tomorrow.

His house, well, his manor had always been initimidating, even when they were younger and she would visit Juliet, but now that she wasn't immediately let in by the house-elf Juliet had so carefully destroyed, Emmeline found standing on the front steps more than daunting. The wait for a response on the other side of the door felt like it was lasting an eternity, and all it managed was to make her think about the packages in her hand.

The cake, the present. Present, cake, would he like them---she shouldn't care so much about it, but she did, and Emmeline shifted them in her arms as she waited. And waited, and---twisting, she flicked her wand and slammed the large knocker down again. What terrible timing for Juliet to have killed the doorman.

"I like it," Caradoc supplemented quickly, moving to hover over her slightly. Ah, see, this was why he didn't like giving gifts to people. And why he had no problem (most of the time), with no one giving him anything because it created situations like this. Why hadn't she listened to him when he had curtly stated all he wanted for his birthday was sex. And a cake. Sex and a cake, that was all he wanted but, no, Emmeline had gone and made it... special. Because a pensieve was something he did need, and she saw that, put the time and effort into getting one and---

Caradoc stopped himself from going into another mini-frenzy, knowing that it would only be counter productive. This-- just--- had to get over it, that was all. Yes. He could do that. He could accept Emmeline's deep affections for him. After all, that was what he had been trying to achieve so....

Nope. The thought still made him want to go on one of his instinctive destructive paths.

Caradoc choose to simply focus on one issue at a time, trying to mentally block out--- refrain, refrain--- her last statement out of his short term memory completely. "Really," he stumbled, blinking quickly for a split second. "Don't---" he hated having to fumble for words-- "I just--- it's very--- thoughtful."

Complete failure of words.

Her flush deepened, and usually when this happened she avoided his gaze completely to stop any form of taunting or teasing, but she wanted to hear what he had to say so she twisted to look up at him. Emmeline cracked a smile, "I know you do."

She did, and her smile widened at the thought. Emmeline had no desire to try and pick apart why it seemed like such a struggle for him admit. As much as she liked to say she understood Caradoc, the way he saw and thought about so many things would always be lost on her. It didn't help that she herself had been subject to very little of the social interaction that might help a person deal with situations like this (or life in general) in a less than awkward fashion. All Emmeline ever knew was that she was going to try.

Try to be as normal as possible, ha. That was completely unattainable at this point, but she could fake it for the one night. Emmeline put down the knife and tilted her head away in what seemed like a lazy manner, but it was more of a shy gesture than anything.

"I'm glad," she said with another smile, reaching out and poking him in the chest.

Okay, this was enough. Caradoc did not like this feeling in his stomach, he did not like the way Emmeline was acting, and he most certainly did not enjoy the result that all of this was creating. It was his birthday for fuck's sake (almost), he was turning 21 (which in some cultures was very important) so he should, he should--- fuck this shit, he was going to do whatever the hell he wanted and not care about anything else.

Or think, no more thinking. Emmeline had to stop making him think things.

Because this was all her fault.

She just wouldn't only give him sex. She just had to be a normal girlfriend, and give him a a normal gift that showed she cared (which, by the by, meant he had to get her a fucking unicorn with wings next month), and just--- do what she was doing.

Putting on an entirely different face, Caradoc stood up a bit taller after she poked him, refusing to being subjected to these ridiculous feelings anymore. Nope, no more subjection; he was in control, thank you very much. Moving on----

"Right, so---" Caradoc eyed the cake on the table quickly, weighing how much he actually desired to eat it sooner than later. It did look appealing, Emmeline had done a good job. But at the same time, he very much desired more to get away from this awkward exchange that had just happened "When are we having sex?"

The poking hand had drifted to her hair, and Emmeline easily slipped it out of its tie, managing to have it fall to her shoulders as Caradoc asked his rather blunt statement. Ooh, good timing.

"I'm surprised it took you this long to ask," she said smoothly, trying to maintain a casual demeanor, though this part of the evening had been planned as expertly as the rest. This part of the plan had included a trip to Diagon Alley with Anneliese and Ellie to a boutique that specified in evening, evening wear. Juliet was excluded for obvious reasons, and hopefully would never find out about the excursion, as projectile vomiting would probably occur.

So--yes, this was the next part of the plan anyway. Or had it been the first? Emmeline had wavered on the order, and had decided that Caradoc would end up making the decision anyway. All right, this was good, then. No more strangely awkward feelings---she knew that there was no going wrong with sexual endeavors.

Emmmeline shrugged, eyes fluttering shut for a moment. "Whenever you want, I suppose." Her fingers went to the clasp of her cloak and she pushed it off her shoulders, revealing the barely-there outfit she'd worn underneath.

Her eyes opened and she flushed, barely maintaining the neutral expression. Anneliese had a ball helping her out with this.

Whenever he wanted?

She supposed?

Did she think he would want to wait a bit now that she had just stripped down in his kitchen? Eat some cake first, let it sit for a while and then come back to the idea when he thought about it later? If Caradoc wasn't so shocked by Emmeline's very unpredictable display of her body, he might have been able to reply something sarcastic back. Or witty. Or form words for that matter. Right then, all it seemed like he could do was stand there and try to catch his mind up to understand what had just happened in the last thirty seconds and why it was still stumbling over itself.

How--- Caradoc could barely get her to do anything he wanted her to do half the time, and now here she was just--- he was not going to question this. No. Nope. There was no practical reason why he should obviously disbalance whatever it was that was happening here by pointing it out. That would be the opposite of practical, it would be idiotic. Blinking quickly, his brain finally caught up to the overpowering urge his body was feeling.

"Now," he growled, a familiar hooked smirk appearing on his face before he roughly grabbed her.

Mmm, lavender.

Hoo hoo, this was going brilliantly. Emmeline quickly forgot the few moments of shared awkwardness as the silky fabric of her attire moved up and down her back, reveling in the fact that she could feel his hot hands through it all. Caradoc had a way of wiping her mind of anything but him, which was definitely a bad, oh-so-good thing. Emmeline knew that she rarely went out of her way like this, in a sexual manner anyway, so she was more than thrilled by his reaction.

Maybe she should just give him sex as a present for the rest of his life.

Her hands pressed hard onto the table behind her until the pressure forced them to bend and now her back felt like it was being pierced by the edge of the wood. Again in that oh-so-good manner, and her now free hands grabbed onto his shirt to attempt to balance out the clothing situation. She was always naked before he was, she really couldn't understand why or how, not that she was complaining. No, no complaining from this Ravenclaw, that was for sure. Figuring out the logistics of her boyfriend's keen clothes-removal skills would come at a later time.

Or she supposed she could figure it out right now, as that would be a rather enjoyable method of research. Emmeline grinned against his mouth at the thought, and let out a pleased hum.
