FRANK? >>
You weren't supposed to stab cake batter.

Frank was being so stupid and dumb and ridiculous and! And embarrassing her in public like that! He was not her father! No! No he was not! He was not her father, and therefore should not be bossing her around as if he was because that was rude and not husbandly.

Alice's eyes kept flipping over to her journal, which was open up to the entry with James. It seemed like the two had stopped talking, but that just meant they were under wards. Talking about her. In private. She could not believe how angry this was making her, but it was, and boy she felt like slipping something into this cake batter.

She spotted Frank's reflection in the window of the kitchen before she heard him; he was getting really good at this stealth stuff. Alice turned quickly, her mixing spoon up in the air and dripping cake batter to the floor.

"This cake isn't for you."

A boy would be nice. Frank said that. Frank said that! Her husband thought that a boy would be nice, and he wasn't running away screaming about having to go to work and thinking that he was never going to return. He was here! Frank was here, watching the vial along with her, waiting for the results.

Alice wasn't sure why she'd pictured her husband acting so violently. Maybe the fact that he said no to a cat a few weeks ago tipped her off, but she did figure that a cat was simply not the same thing as a baby. A baby was something you decided to make and grow and raise together, something that you wished to pass on your traditions with and help become a better person than you were.

See, cats just ripped up your furniture when they were mad at you.

Though, a baby could probably do the same, but that really wasn't all that was on its mind.

Oy, these tangents were getting ridiculous, when was this potion going to go off---

She nearly dropped it when the vial started sparking blue. Alice stared down at the small bottle of glass in her hands, waiting for her brain to put together what its reactions meant. The sparking meant---yes. Yes, she was pregnant. And the blue---a boy, it was a boy, she was pregnant with a boy. Alice looked up at Frank, eyes wide and mouth pressed shut as her heart attempted to thud right out of her chest. Her mind, in all of the insanity she had just been going through, was completely dark and blank except for the sparks of blue.

"Frank."

Holy shit, the thing had turned blue. Blue as in-- alright, he had believed that Alice-- they--- were pregnant, but it was a completely different thing when you were absolutely sure like right now and seeing it there in her hands. Blue as in boy meaning that he was going to have a son! They were going to have a son. A baby. He couldn't think but he could think, because he could understand what this meant.

Frank stared at the small vial intensely, letting the rest of its whole meaning sink in. This was--- this was--- he didn't know what to say, because there were a million things racing through his head all at once. Everything that came to mind seemed cliche, but obviously appropriate, because what else could you say? Besides, he didn't care. But choosing one thought-- no, that was impossible. He was going to have to uncontrol himself again.

"A baby!" he finally gasped, pushing himself from off the wall. "Alice---" Alright, now he wanted to scream on top of his lungs and let everyone know they're good news. Good news because he had been--- overreacting before. Having a baby isn't horrible, not at all. Especially if it got Alice to be this happy; she deserved to be happy. Frank reached for her hands, holding onto them tightly.

In the midst of trying to regain some sort of thought process, Alice had carefully put the vial down on a nearby table and was currently gripping Frank's hands tightly.

There was a baby inside of her! He probably (he!) looked like a little dot, but! But! She'd helped make him! Frank too! Frank had been vital, in fact. Realizing the momentous occasion they were in, Alice let out a rather high-pitched shriek of laughter and excitement, feet bouncing back and forth in a ridiculously exuberant dance and she flung her arms around her husband's neck.

"FRAANK!" she let out loudly, knocking him back into the wall. Oh, oh! She loved this man so much, she loved him and loved him and would marry him again and again and have all of his babies and more babies and she would so never whine to him about a stupid cat again!
