Why was he plagued with the worst kind of luck! Why? One would think that it would be great, to have any kind of good luck at all. But in Adrian's opinion, it wasn't. Life would be a lot easier to deal with if he knew that things would always go one way or another; not in the twisted way it usually did for him. Like having a famous father. Sure that was great, but it wasn't exactly like they had ever really met. That didn't get him very far did it? And now, Noah Boot---

Adrian cringed at the thought of the other man, his feet coming to a stop. Yes, Adrian had somehow gotten out of Friday's event alive and well (how, he still had no idea), but the man in the planetarium that had saved him had been taken. Kidnapped! If that wasn't enough, after further research Adrian discovered that this kidnapped man was Noah Boot, and he was Odette's fiance! How-- how was that even possible? Out of all the people--- the one person--- it was unbelievable. The worst kind of good luck. Now there was the possibility-- Adrian shook his head again, forcing himself to move forward through the Magpies' Stadium.

He had to tell Odette. It wasn't... he knew she wouldn't take it well, but this knowledge was eating him alive; it was starting to become unbearable. Pulling back his shoulders in an anxious manner, Adrian finally found himself walking out onto the pitch. The team wasn't practicing now, he knew that, but he had hoped he would find Odette here beating out whatever issues she had at the moment. After a few seconds of searching the sky and the stands, he realized she wasn't here.

Sighing, he turned and spotted a blonde woman still in gear a few meters away from him. No doubt she was one of Odette's teammates; she would have some idea, wouldn't she? Adrian promptly walked over, too focused on his mission to remember common courtesy. "Have you seen Odette?" he asked, shielding the sun's glare from his eyes with his hand.

He couldn't just---walk away! Maggie hurried up to her feet, letting out a string of silent words as she didn't know what to say and---Odette would kill her if she let Adrian get to her. Just! Just maim. Maggie knew grabbing onto him would be fruitless (and also look very, very stupid), so--who could stop him?

Ooh. Maggie recalled a similar incident, when one of Drystan's various stalkers had managed to get into the stadium on a non-game day. That had been a fun half an hour of hide and seek.

"I'm calling security!" Maggie let out after him. How had he even gotten this far, anyway? Was that all a quidditch player needed to do to sneak into an opposing team's stadium and onto their pitch? Just flash a handsome smile and waltz right on in? Maggie didn't want to cause a scene, though, because Odette would be even more frustrated with that than actually seeing Adrian, so she didn't call out as loud as she should, "Security!"

With each step away from her that he took, however, her tone grew louder.

For such a small person, Maggie could produce a very loud voice that echoed easily. Adrian at first tried to ignore her, hoping she would give up the further he walked away from her. But no, no no, now she was following him, practically yelling at the top of her lungs! Calling for security, no less! Neither of them needed a scene with their names attached to be created out of this, so he gave in relatively quickly.

"Will you quit it!" Adrian turned swiftly to face her, his voice low as he addressed her. Why was she making it so difficult for him to do the right thing! It was hard enough admitting that Noah's capture was basically his fault, but for someone else to be stopping him from taking blame for it was even harder to deal with. He just wanted to get this over with.

But Maggie was not going to let him. The only thing at this point that could possibly shake her off was.... the truth, he supposed. Or that was at least his best bet. Not too keen on this idea, he raised his left hand to his head to push against it. His other hand went out to her in an explanative manner.

"Look," Adrian started steadily, his hand pushing further to stop the headache that was forming. "I want to talk to her because I was with her--- Noah before-- when he went missing. And I thought I should be the one to tell her before she finds out from some rag. That's all." It took all of his self control to not glare at her as he spoke or after he finished. He knew she was only doing what she thought was right, too.
