Open to Quidditch Players + Guests
Of course the party had a slight theme of blue and yellow. It wasn't blatantly obvious, but as Bess shifted the United blue napkins to the perfect angle, she couldn't help but beam at how proud she was of the entire gathering. People were happy to see each other, mingling and looking relaxed; the party was exclusive to the players and their guests, so there were no cameramen or journalist---the only pictures being taken were by the players themselves, who seemed to be having a good time goofing off before work began again. Bess had really never thought about being one of those wives, that hosted parties and entertained guests, but---she had to admit that it was quite fun.

The garden looked beautiful. Bess wasn't quite sure how Drystan had so easily managed to get the space, but she wasn't going to complain. Her husband had tricks up his sleeve that she'd probably never fully figure out. Plus, she'd gotten her sister-in-law out of her flat and now Penelope was somewhere around here...hopefully talking to a handsome bloke (but just talking! Only talking!).

Bess couldn't be more pleased with herself. She let out a breath and shook her head at a few players who were on their fourth glass of champagne.

Once Delilah spotted the invitation to the party on Charlie's counter while visiting she started up right away about him taking her. 'It clearly states you can bring a guest, Charles.' And Delilah didn't care if he thought that it didn't mean his sister. Whatever, she was sure there would be plenty of girls there he could chat up.

Once they arrived at the party, Delilah waved and with a "See ya Charlie, have fun!" headed off to mingle. And find Thomas, which she did rather quickly, but once she was sure that he saw that she was there, she went on her way to talk to other people. She didn't want him to think she was stalking him or something.

Finally, after an hour or two she spotted him sitting off to the side. She went over and gently kicked the back of his chair. "You ignored my offer of coffee." she said simply, handing him a drink. "Then again, I suppose I really can't blame you. I tend to come off a tad strong and we only had the one conversation. In which you were only wearing a towel. So this is me, acting like a normal human being and offering you a drink."

He was really only here because it was Drystan's party. Thomas had been avoiding every and all public situations because he had no desire to answer questions or concerns or wonderings about why his former girlfriend was not by his side. Thoughts of Casey seemed to consume him every time he had a quiet moment, and try as hard as he might he could not rid himself of the ever looming feeling of sadness and anger the visions of her brought him.

Thomas was however glad for the selective guest list. He had no desire to be cornered by a journalist looking for a scoop, especially since it was the media that had caused everything around him to fall apart. His family wasn't speaking to him, his sister was especially furious, and he couldn't talk to anyone about it because it was his own damn fault.

The slight jolt forward snapped him out of this thoughts, and Thomas looked up in surprise at Delilah. His face flushed and he looked down and away, not believing that she was once again harassing him. Hadn't once been enough?

"Please don't mention the towel," he said, still looking away and not accepting the drink.

Delilah sighed and put the glass down on the table in front of him. "Fine. I won't."

She sat herself down in the chair next to his, sipping her drink and watching the crowd. And he could just sit there and ignore her all he wanted to. Him and his mopey face. Whatever. Delilah could play this game too.

Except not at all. After a few minutes she got fidgety. "Look. I'm brash. I know. And a bit self centered. I see what I like and I set out to get it. But I'm not looking for your undying devotion here. Mostly a conversation over some type of food or drink. I kicked your chair for seven years, I should probably get to know you."

She shrugged a shoulder and took a sip of her drink, glancing at him out of the corner of her eye. "That and you look like you could use a bit of fun. I'm all about having fun. It does you no good to be wound up and stressed out all the time."

He let out a sigh when she broke the silence and wondered why she was trying to make him feel awful. At least---Thomas knew that Delilah wasn't being deliberately mean, he knew that much, but couldn't she see how uncomfortable he felt? It wasn't her, really, she seemed nice enough to talk to, and she was certainly pretty, it was the idea of having any sort of relationship with a woman that made him cringe and pull into himself. He'd been hurt, badly, and maybe was unfairly punishing people in his life because of it.

Not that she was in his life, but she'd definitely been making it a point of making herself the center of his attention.

Thomas let out a breath and reached out for drink, taking a quick gulp and then pulling a face at her that said, 'happy?' He nearly choked on her words, however and swallowed roughly. See what she likes? He really needed to find a potion that stopped a person from blushing because everything that came out of this girl's mouth made his face and ears go red, which was not at all appropriate for a famous quidditch player. She just---needed to stop being inappropriate.

"I'm not---" he started, because he was so used to telling people that he was fine and that he was not stressed out, but Delilah would never leave him alone if he denied this fact, "It's just---"

If he assumed she wanted to pursue some sort of romantic relationship then everything from this point on would be put under a microscope, everything he said would be examined in his own head and if he told her that he didn't want anything like that they she could get offended for him thinking that----He thought far too much for his own good.

He sighed. "What do you want to talk about?"

Delilah just beamed at him when he finally took a sip of his drink, feeling all sorts of giddy. She turned in her seat to face him properly and realized that she really had no idea what to talk about. So far her goal was just getting him to talk to her period, and she really hadn't thought much farther than that.

"Er. Um. To be honest I have no idea." She said with a laugh. No point in trying to hide it, she was terrible at lying and trying to hide things. "Waitwaitwait, I know. Let's play game. Twenty questions? Totally childish but whatever. It'll be fun and a quick way to get to know each other." Delilah grinned as she talked animatedly. "Its also the quickest way to find out if we actually have anything in common. Soooo. Out of all the teams you've played for, including school, which do you like best."
