Raffle Dates!
It was hard to say that the raffle was a bad idea when it raised so much money for W.Q.W., and while there wasn't an official number yet, even Henry seem pleased with the result. But standing outside the Montrose Pitch, Seth was having a hard time remembering why he thought a raffle would be more fun than a traditional auction, where you couldn't bid on someone's behalf without their knowledge, or at least being able to find out who did it.

Seth was all for just not going since he was pretty sure that neither of them would be heartbroken if the 'date' actually didn't happen but with the amount of press that was at the event, just skipping out on it altogether wasn't an option. Especially since Seth was on of the co-founders of the charity the whole event was held to support. After a thirty minute lecture from Henry, which was mostly a list of things he was under no circumstances allowed to do, even if she provoked it, he was allowed to leave. So here he was waiting on Odette MacFarlan to show.

He shoved his hands in his pockets trying not to think of all the other time Odette and he did stuff for the sake of publicity that ended in complete and utter disaster. He had changed since he was Captain of the Magpies, and he could certainly handle one perfectly cordial lunch with her.

OOC: Heyyy everyone, feel free to use this post to put up threads for your quidditch raffle dates! Bound to lots of potential drama lurking about with this so, have fun! :D

"Yes, of course, she's her older sister and she's a curse breaker for Gringotts---how cool is that?" Thomas looked impressed, yet again, even though he'd known about her occupation since even before he'd met her, Victoria was always talking about her family. "A curse breaker! She's very smart and---she's just..." Thomas put his hands up, shoulders going high, "I'm just struck by her I suppose."

Struck by her. That was the word. Thomas had a quick, faint reminder of being shot with a love-potion dipped arrow at the Halloween party, but it was nothing like this. Maybe it was because it was new, but he felt his blood pump faster just at the anticipation of seeing her and talking about her and---bloody hell, he really hoped this feeling didn't wear off as time went by because it felt ruddy good.

Thomas put his hands over his face, flushing and getting hot. He felt like such a fool, but really! Really, humans were supposed to have these sorts of feelings to keep them alive and motivated, so he shouldn't be thinking that he was acting strange because it was natural, wasn't it? Why was he analyzing this? His normally very logical brain was having a hard time understanding everything that was going on and it was even harder to accept this because was---different and----new and----

He dropped his hands, "I feel ridiculous, please--talk about yourself for a moment or two or three."

It was... heartening to see her friend this happy. Happy! When was the last time that happy and Thomas McCormack could be put together in the same thought without irony? It was good that this Samantha appeared to be pulling him back to normal. In fact, Rose found herself just staring at Thomas as he continued on, struck herself at how different his tone had changed at just the mention of her.

Why couldn't they talk about her more? There was no need to rush! She knew he was just being polite, but...

Rose faltered slightly, then gave a light laugh, wondering how exactly to word her response. Maybe she really was over-thinking this, it honestly wasn't that big of a deal. Octavius was wonderful to her, he always had been, and that wasn't what worried her about Thomas' potential response. Octavius' close relations to one Charlie Spinnet, in addition to her obvious withholding of information for as long as she had was what made her think this might not go over well.

Perhaps Thomas wouldn't even remember that Octavius was close with Charlie! Maybe he wouldn't even remember Octavius! It had been a while, and things had been different, then and... it hadn't been that long, really. Just a little over a month that they had been dating. That really wasn't that bad.

"Well, actually," Rose started, her leg falling as her hands moved from the table to her lap. "I have--- I am seeing someone, too. Do you remember Octavius Pepper?" She felt her cheeks begin to feel hot as she spoke, and she let out small laugh. "We ran into each other at this new year's party and stared talking, and.... yes. Yes."

"Well...look at us."

Thomas smiled at Rose, not having expected her news, but not entirely surprised by it. Their quidditch schedules had them busy, but it was only when there were others involved that they tended to drift away. He should have realized it, but he himself had been so wrapped up in Samantha that he hadn't noticed the lack of communication between he and Rose.

Octavius Pepper...Thomas remembered not particularly hating him when he and Rose were dating the first time. He did recall that Pepper was the best friend of the prat named Spinnet, but it wasn't the same thing as Rose actually messing around with the Kestrel. Pepper was...intelligent, a bit spastic (but so was Rose so maybe this was a match), and he was not a quidditch player which was always a good sign. As he mentally checked off a list of what made an appropriate boyfriend for Rose, he came to the conclusion that Pepper passed with at least a 72%. That was much better than she'd done in ages.

It was sort of a sad feeling, though, even if Pepper was a good bloke. Thomas' feelings for Rose had always been strange, and as much as Kendall liked to say that he was blind, he knew that Rose's feelings towards him weren't completely---well, at least Thomas thought so. It was sad that once again they found themselves going in different directions when they never had the chance to actually do anything themselves.

"We could double date," he said with a nod and another smile, folding his menu shut.
