Charity Dinner! Open to All! For Saturday!

for more information

He stared at his reflection in the back of the bar area, his face refracted by the different panes of glass. Henry had long left his assigned seat at a table full of some of the highest donors of the night. They had found it to be such an honor that he was seated with them, that to be dining beside someone who must be so strong to go through this travesty was something to brag about. Henry had silently and barely acknowledged them, allowing their obsession with themselves and their egos to draw the conversation away from him.

The empty glass cracked loudly against the counter of the bar as he finished the drink. Henry could feel himself starting to feel slow and sluggish, but if he was forced to be here then he was going to do it on his own terms. If that meant getting so pissed that he slept under the bar for the rest of the night, then so be it.

Someone slipped onto the stool beside him, but seeing as there was no one that Henry wished to speak to tonight, he dropped his gaze back to his empty glass and tapped the side so that it could magically fill up once more.

He was brooding, lost in his own thoughts and missing Rose's moves until she was right in front of him, grabbing him. In a second, he felt his back knock against the wall as they wrapped themselves around one another with much more abandon than was wise in a public setting.

His hands gripped her waist tightly before he gave a slight growl and twisted them so he could heft her up into his arms, leaning them both into the wall for support. It was as though every word they had spoken before this moment counted for nothing. Had they made good points? Axe was certain they had, or at least, he had been a moment ago, before every thought and the ability to think evaporated entirely. Friends, teammates, happiness, fears, intimacy, all that had been buzzing in his head was gone, leaving nothing but feverish silence. Axe barely remembered talking at all, let alone being the one to discourage even secretly attempting to see one another.

After all, Axe Brookstanton was not, had never been, and would never be, the one to do the right thing.

Like now, when his hand could not stop the path it was tracking, from beneath her rib cage to her thighs, each time daring to tug her hem further up. Vaguely, he heard the words she mumbled against his mouth, trying not to pay them any meaning though they eventually pervaded his consciousness.

"We are nothing at all," he agreed, before his other hand slid between the nape of her neck and the wall, fisting in hair and crushing her feverish lips back to his.

Her skin blazed back alive, her toes curled within her shoes, and her spine arched as Rose inhaled a shuddering breath. All the worry, and anxiety, within her slipped away as Axe wrapped his hands around her, hoisting her to lean against the wall. She supposed that should concern her, his ability to make her neglect any and all rational decision making, but his hands and his lips were far too intoxicating for her to think much beyond that he wasn't currently rejecting her.

Hooking one arm around his neck, Rose braced the other against the wall for support, though it was little use for how efficiently he had propped and pinned her. Her free hand then moved to stop his determined one by her thighs, under the pretense that no matter how much they had hidden themselves away here, it would be important to subdue their holiday habits. This wasn't just some isolated beach, or secluded rove of trees, or abandoned hillside, or long-forgotten Egyptian--- there were actual people downstairs, all around in this building that could quite easily---

--- just have heard that loud moan she just produced. Her aching body for him would have been embarrassing (later it would be, yes), if all her reservations hadn't just flown out the window with her apparent control of her own body. So, because there really was quite nothing stopping her now, Rose instead of holding it back, simply guided (shoved) Axe's hand under the hem of her dress entirely. Her hand then moved to grip his shoulder tightly.

As an afterthought, while her legs hitched to wrap around his waist as much as they could, Rose remembered that there had been a serious conversation being carried. Her fingers dug into the back of his neck as she scrambled together any kind of response.

“Settled,” Rose let out, not having taken her lips away from his for long this whole time, and not about to start now. Her other hand, not firmly wrapped near his neck, however, had done a bit of roaming, and was now currently fumbling with any and all ties, buttons, or clasps in his clothing that she could reach. "All settled."
