Halloween Haunted Castle Event! Open to Everyone!
While she wasn't particularly keen on parties, she was set on saving wildlife. Everyone else seemed to rake in the galleons by throwing large events, no matter the scandals that erupted from them, so why couldn't they? Nora had conservatory's committee for quite some time now, and being the youngest by a good forty years, had devised this plan as a new and fresh way of funding. It helped greatly that she had friends that had access to some of the best party planners (or that she could twist Charlie Spinnet's ear until he helped her out), and things seemed to have turned out well. So far.

For the brave at heart, there was a grand maze that made its way throughout the haunted castle. Guests would be offered clues to get themselves to the ballroom, and if they were truly lost (as Nora was sure was to occur), for just a small donation (it's for charity), any money dropped into a clue box would light up a blue path down the correct route to lead the way out. With all the Gryffindors that Nora had put on the guest list, she was sure they were going to triple their goal.

There was a simpler route than the maze, which was simply to walk through the double doors to the dance floor. Nora was currently wavering between the two, having run out of pamphlets to give out at the front entrance therefore giving her no excuse to join the festivities. She felt rather exposed, as Delilah had stolen her cloak, and when someone tapped her shoulder she jumped nearly a foot in the air.

"Bloody hell!" she let out, spinning around. "You scared the life out of me!"

Every year since Charlotte could remember, she had always dressed as a princess for Halloween. Muggle, Wizarding, any sort at all. This year was no different. Rapunzel was always a story she had loved. Also it always gave her a reason to wear a pretty dress. Though she really didn't think through the whole charming her hair to fall down past her feet. Having almost tripped over it three times she had taken to wrapping it over her arm to prevent disaster.

She smiled at Adian's compliment. "Thank you!" she preened dropping her hair. "I hope you haven't been waiting too long." Never one to actually admit it, Lottie had been considerably late. "Are you ready to go in?"

He waved off her concern. It hadn't been that long... at least, there was no way for him to tell, as in the flurry of preparing for tonight, Adian had forgotten to bring his timepiece. And usually when that happened, he would simply use Louis as a clock, but Louis was off elsewhere being in a mood. So he couldn't very well have his french friend milling about Lottie, a girl Adian was steadily becoming to believe that Louis kind of relatively hated.

A little bit.

But there wasn't really the time, or energy, to dive too deeply into it. He liked Lottie, and that was all that mattered. Well, relatively. He had to get her to like him too, which was... difficult when it seemed that he lost all regular abilities of walking, talking, and thinking around her.

Hopefully this maze would help! At the very least, it would bring out some opportunities for him to dazzle her with his innate Gryffindor qualities! He had to have some, he believed, to be placed in their house. So... yes. That would be good. Lottie would see how brave he was and be instantly wooed. Praying to Merlin that would happen.

"Ready!" he said, as he produced his wand from his pocket. Adian had been about to charge forward when he noticed... Lottie's hair was on the ground. Because it was so long. "Do you need help with your hair?" he blurted suddenly, thinking it might get caught, or trampled on, or... something. "I mean--" He closed his eyes for a second, feeling a panic rise within him. "Your hair is too nice to be---" Nope, getting worse.

"We should go in!" he practically wheeze, leaning back on his heels as he spoke.

Lottie quirked a brow at Adian as he tripped over his words. But he did have a point, she had almost forgotten the length she charmed her hair to. A maze would prove difficult. "You're allowed to compliment my hair, you know." she mused as she folded it up over her arm. "I put a lot of effort into it, its nice to know that it doesn't go unnoticed."

She studied their two options, maze or straight to the party. While the maze would be fun, she really didn't want her dress to get ripped or have to do any running in heels. "Would you mind terribly if we skipped the maze?" she asked looking over to her date. "It might be nicer to just go get a drink and maybe dance."

Adian seemed like a nice enough guy, it was easy to see that all he wanted to do was impress her. Though Charlotte really just wanted to get to know him better. Surely he wasn't this inarticulate all the time, that wouldn't do at all.

"We can chat. I'll give you insider secrets to the daily workings at the WWN and you can tell me about whatever it is you do at the ministry."

Oh. He had been planning on--- never mind that. Regardless of the daring chivalrous acts Adian thought he would be doing in the maze in an effort to show Lottie how he actually wasn't a babbling buffoon, there were other ways to impress her. Louis and he had gone over this option B of how the night could go, and for once, actually, he was relatively ready to tackle it. Pocking his wand, he let out a sigh of relief.

"Thank Merlin," he let out, shoulders dropping easily. A sheepish smile formed on his lips, and he looked over at Lottie guiltily. "I am much better at dancing than fighting off ghosts trying to be spooky."

He smiled genuinely and then proceeded to stick his arm out for Lottie to grasp in a way that Adian had seen medieval knights do for their ladies in the paintings at Hogwarts. He hoped Lottie would appreciate the gesture, even from the sorriest of stand-in knights like himself.

Adian shook his head. "The ministry is horrible. I'd much rather hear about all the famous people you work with at the WWN." That must be exciting to brush shoulders with the wizarding world's elite. "Is Glenda Chittock really as nice as they say? And Gabriel Corner, how many quidditch connections does he really have? He mentions them a lot."
