Thoreau wormed his way through the crowded school hallway, making a b-line for Pansy, standing surrounded by a circle of her closest followers. Who were about to get a text alert. Thoreau didn't know when Gossip Girl had started giving out warnings, but obviously Pansy hadn't got one or she wouldn't be standing in the middle of a very public hallways, ruling the coop like nothing was wrong.

He touched her arm. "Pansy, I need to talk to you," Thoreau said, glancing at the girls and then stepping closer to her, lowering his voice. "We need to go. Now. We need time to think up a strategy."

	Pansy had no idea what Thoreau was on about. She frowned at him for a moment, taking his hand into hers as she made her excuses. Why was he being so dramatic? What could possibly be going wrong this time? She followed him. "What's going on?" She asked. "What's happened?" (Reply to this)(Thread)

"It's not really something that's happened. It's something Gossip Girl says is going to happen," Thoreau said, wrapping an arm around Pansy and leading her out the nearest door. He took out his phone, finding the message and handing it to her.

"There are stills to prove it. Of the video we made. We should have known better." He shook his head. "Once I get going I'll do anything Roo tells me to do."

	Pansy was not expecting that. She frowned as she looked at the stills of the photo, feeling like she may burst into tears. It was weird, though. That Gossip Girl had texted ahead of time. "I don't know. Maybe she felt guilty after Draco. I thought you'd get one too," Thoreau said, running a hand through his hair. He made sure there was no one around, then stopped in a corner of the school yard, tucked away from everyone else.

He took his phone back from her, looking down at the message again as he pulled Pansy against his chest. "My parents won't care," he said quietly. "I replied to her and asked her not to publish it, but she hasn't said anything back. Just... if you get in trouble, you'll move in with me. Okay?"

	"My parents would literally kill me." Pansy told Thoreau, shaking her head. "I would have to move in with you. I wouldn't make it out of this unscathed at all." She chewed at her bottom lip. "Friends --" Thoreau blinked at Pansy. "Neville is not Gossip Girl," he said, shaking his head. "Neville is... We didn't even know he existed before this year. The only friend he has... is..."

He trailed off, because that did fit, didn't it? Neville's only other friend was Lucy Malfoy. Lucy, who dated guys who were way too old for her, drank, partied, and wore underwear like it was real clothing and never ended up on Gossip Girl. "Fuck."

	Pansy felt floored as she stared up at Thoreau. Daphne was dating Gossip Girl. She chewed at her bottom lip a little harder and then shook her head. It all made sense. "Okay. Now we just..." Pansy looked up at him. "We just need to figure out how to get him to not post this. I feel like I'm going to have to figure out a way to sleep with him and set him up." Thoreau chewed on his bottom lip for a moment. He liked Neville. Had liked him. Had enjoyed being friends with him. "No wonder Daphne's been getting so much attention. I... You can't sleep with him."

Thoreau got out his phone. "I don't... I should text him, right? It would be normal for me to say something to him about Gossip Girl. He's the only person who ever seems... above it." Thoreau thought about their first conversations with Neville, how he'd acted like he didn't know anything about them. "He's been fucking playing us."

	Neville was starting to feel suspicious as he stood there, frowning at Thoreau. "People constantly send things to Gossip Girl. Everyone else is the supplier. Gossip Girl just posts what people want her to post." He knew he was in trouble. "So, you've figured it out, right?" He asked, arching a brow. "And you realise that none of you are innocent, right?"
