Pyxis was a terrible, awful girlfriend. She understood that. But, it was just sex. For all she knew, Rider was off fucking other people too. In fact, she had no doubt that he was fucking someone else. Why else would he always turn her down for sex?

And in all honesty, it was kind of pissing her off. The way that Rider was treating her, shagging other girls or not, was not okay. He was supposed to be her boyfriend. She sighed to herself and lay back on her floor, scrolling through her tumblr and trying to ignore the sheer amount of porn blogs she followed. Rider knew he'd been a pretty shit boyfriend to Pyxis lately. It was mostly because of Romy and the way he felt about her and the way he wanted to just... spend all his time with Romy, fucking her and stuff. But Romy's pointed out that he needed to do shit like take Pyxis on dates and she was right. Also, she was on her way to Surrey to hook up with Walden again, so now was a good time for Rider to be with Pyxis properly.

He showed up at Pyxis's house, letting himself in and walking up to her bedroom. "Hey," he said, opening the door and ducking so he fit. "I'm going to take you on a date."

Rider frowned at Pyxis. "Of course I like you," he said. "You're my best friend. What kind of dick doesn't like his best friend? I want to go on a date with you because you're my girlfriend too."

He held his hand out to her. "We'll eat dinner and then I'll take you to a movie. There's a superhero one in the cheap theatre we could go see. There probably won't be many people there and we can snog a little too."

Pyxis stared at Rider for a long moment. Was he being serious? Where had this come from all of a sudden? Why did he want to take her on a date? She felt very confused by it.

"What's this all about, Rider?" Pyxis asked, frowning. "You've never wanted to take me on a date before. Actually, you haven't texted me in a week. You haven't called. You didn't answer my instant messages. Are we technically still dating?"

Pyxis pulled on a pair of denims and a t-shirt and then turned to look at Rider. She'd fancied him for so long and as soon as she'd gotten him, she'd realised that he never actually wanted her. He just wanted Romy. She could feel it in her bones.

"Of course I do, Rider. That's the problem." Pyxis looked back at him, shaking her head. "I like you so much and I know that you don't feel the same about me. You never have. Rider hadn't expected Pyxis to cry about it. She was being so mean to him. Accusing him of cheat and basically admitting to cheating herself in the same breath. He stared at her for a moment, then sighed, feeling his anger leave him. Pyxis was still his best friend.

"We're terrible together," he pointed out, moving over to her. He hugged her to his chest. "We cheated on each other. I never slept with a girl who wasn't you and then we started dating and fucked everything up." He sighed, looking down at her. "I'm sorry I'm a shit boyfriend."

Pyxis didn't feel comforted by that statement. She shook her head and looked at Rider for a moment. He'd only managed to make her feel even worse by saying that.

"If Romy wasn't around, nothing would be different." Pyxis told him. "Because, there's just be another girl like Romy. Another girl who made all the boys like her and I'd just be the weird girl with the wild hair who listens to her ipod when she walks down the street to avoid social contact, who likes to wrestle, who doesn't put much thought into her appearance and who has an over all bad attitude. Pyxis shook her head at that. Hearing Rider actually say that he wanted Romy hurt more than she cared to admit. She looked down to hide her disappointment, thinking of the years she'd wasted on wanting Rider. On waiting for him to want her back.

"Walden doesn't want me." Pyxis told him quietly. "He likes sweet girls like Romy. Girly girls who smell nice and have pretty skin. He likes her a lot. Their first time he said that she didn't seem to like being with him very much and I basically threw myself at him to give him lessons. That's all it is.
