Late Year Character Round-Up
Justin: This guy has really grown on me over the last few months since I've gotten to know him better. Justin is fiercely protective of his family members and is in love with Christina Frost. Finding out about what she really does for a living, as well as the horror she was put through in her youth, has been hard for Justin: if the people responsible weren't already dead, he'd kill them himself. His heart is still a major issue, and that's going to be dealt with very soon.

Needs to Happen: Justin and Misha are going to go up against Weapon X, which will aggravate Justin's heart condition. I'd like to see him develop a closer relationship with Tony, which may happen if this Force Works idea Dylan has discussed comes together.

Plots: Weapon X Plot, various.

Julian Howard/Gallio: All hail the king. I thought that becoming the Grey King of the Hellfire Club would be the apex of Julian's goals, but he decided not to let me off that easily. Julian's desire to aid and provide for his family may be his greatest strength as well as his greatest flaw. He sees Andrew as the future, but feels that his nephew is still not wholly willing to do whatever needs to be done to advance his causes. He doesn't know Luna yet, but seeing her become less like her own parents and more like her grandfather would make Julian happy. The Hellfire Club will be looking for new members and the Grey King is going to build a new inner circle.

I think what Julian needs most is a true friend, someone he can count on without worrying about being stabbed in the back. He doesn't feel he has that with Lisa, currently. For now, this doesn't bother him, but eventually, one of them will have to put up or shut up. I've been discussing Julian striking up a friendship with an unlikely ally, which would make things interesting for his allies, and very unfortunate for a certain member of the Fantastic Four.

X-Factor is his baby, but Julian never wanted to be on camera with them. He prefers everyone to think of him as a regular human, but that may not hold.

Needs to Happen: More X-Factor plots, developing friendships outside the team, possibly meeting Magneto for the first time, and Selene's return to his life.

Joey: This guy is definitely up there in my list of favorite characters. He really was supposed to be just a con-man with a heart of gold, but he's become something more since I've started playing him. His relationship with Rose is out of left field to a lot of bystanders, but Joey knows that all roads lead to and from Rose. He's told her that he loves her, and he can't see himself with anyone else. Of course, the fact he's now blind means he can't see himself with anyone, literally. I originally thought that this development would be temporary, but I'm starting to like the idea of this struggle being permanent for him. Perhaps Joey's greatest moments are still coming up, especially when people start realizing that getting beaten by a con-man is embarrassing, but losing to a guy who can't even /see/ you is downright painful.

Joey's suffering is not nearly over yet. He's talked a great deal about what saving Cassidy and keeping the kid from paying for what he's done means to X-Force and mutants and general, but Joey is about to find out just how much he, personally, will have to put on the line to keep Cassidy safe, and it may cost him his life.

He's also got issues with his mother and Foxx to work out, which will be fun to see.

Needs to Happen: Learning about his mother and extended family, as well as the return of his old thieving crew.

Plots: Lots of X-Force Stuff.

Tech: One of the new guys on the block, I have to admit, I didn't know how well Tech would come off in play. So far, I enjoy him a great deal. He's eccentric and odd, but he's also a good person, despite his circumstances. He and Sam Fury both have older brothers who are criminals, which gives them something in common. Tech's largest issue is that his brother used him to create weapons that kill innocent people, which is why he's with S.H.I.E.L.D. trying to make up for that. He's got a few secrets to him, especially when it comes to his family and his powers. I'm hoping to watch him go from reclusive geek to unlikely, but well-adjusted, agent eventually and develop stronger bonds with his teammates.

Needs to Happen: Dealing with his brother and the distribution of his weapons, possibly finding his father, and life-altering event.

Plots: To be determined.

Andy/Titan: These two are a lot of fun and have grown quickly for being newer characters. Andy, as I play him in meta, comes across as far less assured of himself, but that's not really the case. He's just very different from Argo, his father and his mother. He sees how free they are with certain parts of their character, but it doesn't work that way with him. He'll fight to death for his teammates and family, and Jenny, who he's pretty sure he's in love with. The biggest obstacle to any of Andy's future plans is going to come from Titan, who was content to smash and destroy ad nauseum until he met Marlow.

Titan is starting to want his own life and the ability to make his own choices, which often are in direct opposition to what Andy wants. Fighting, drinking, playing with Short Stack and hanging out with "Magic Babe" are really the only things that Titan needs to be happy. Andy assumes that Titan is some manifestation of his his godhood that Olympus cursed him with, and has, until recently, been the more dominant of the two personalities. What Andy doesn't realize is that Titan represents a darker force inside him, one that he wouldn't be comfortable acknowledging at all. I'm hoping to see that come to the fore eventually.

Needs to Happen: Separation Plot, Titan and Marlow Adventures, more Jenny, Andy and Cheesecake!

Plots: Separation Plot, "Nation of Violence" plot, etc.

Eli: Eli, along with Andy, is one of my genuine good guys. He's grown a bit more in knowledge since joining the 12-Step Team, and forged a couple of friendships that I think will play a crucial role in the rest of his life. Eli is an Eternal, but he doesn't subscribe to ruling humanity, as he finds them the most fascinating beings he's ever encounter (especially babies). He has come to terms with living forever already, but I don't think he quite grasps just how much he can possible see in that time.

His friends-with-benefits enjoyment with Vernique will likely become a staple of his existence. His friendship with Svalin will make him a better warrior, and I hope to give him a chance to meet other Asgardians and immortals and make friends. But Svalin will probably always be first on that list.

The idea of eventually becoming a father both excites and terrifies Eli for many reasons, which I hope to see play out in the future, even if Veronica doesn't happen quite the way he learns about during his trip.

Needs to Happen: Eli is working with the 12-Step Crew for the foreseeable future, but upon his return, he'll learn the fate of his mother, and what his actions during 12-Step have cost him.

Plots: To Be Determined

Avery: I'm still getting a handle on Avery, besides the fact that he's Zoey's dad and completely ignorant of the trace of Asgardian blood that runs through his veins, on his mother's side. He's going to have some serious family secrets to deal with it as well as the addition of a new family member, and a change in his own nature. There are two ways to go with this, but I'm not sure which I like more.

His relationship with Sydney will be tested by both his family and the re-appearance of his ex-wife, who really doesn't want to see him happy. I'd like to see where he and Sydney go, not only for Zoey's sake, but for their own.

Needs to Happen: He'll be involved with X-Force through his visions and will definitely play into Joey's life, Shifted Nature Plot, and discovering that his father is a Very Bad Man.

Plots: TBD.

Braddock: The newest guy on the block is also the one who can literally go either way. He's not wholly good or evil, but he has elements of each, and combined with where he comes from makes him either a dark hero or a worse villain. Currently, he has his princess, Gretchen, to balance him out, but with some actions he'll be taking in regards to Rose and X-Force, it will be hard to say if she'll stay with him through that.

Lyta being his sister is important to him, but his actions regarding Rose will certainly put him at odds with both Misha and Joey, and it's hard to tell if blood will run thicker than water in that case. I don't have a lot planned for him yet, but I'm always looking for more ideas.

Needs to Happen: Meet Betsy, get involved in X-Force's business, keep Gretchen happy.

Plots: TBD.

Cassidy: I'm not sure what mood I was in when I made this guy, but he's been put through the wringer already and there doesn't seem to be an end in sight for him. I intended for him to become the "Shaman to the Mutant Race" that X-Man was, but I'm a little stuck on how he might come to that point. Sinister has probably manipulated his life more than any other Summers, including Scott, and the bad doctor's machinations will only continue to take their toll.

He's destroyed a city and killed a beloved student with his powers already. Both were accidents, but Cassidy will continue to struggle with his guilt from those, even as he builds relationships with new people. Izzy, Tina and Cait are his only friends thus far, but Cassidy knows he's got a country full of enemies.

Eventually, he's going to learn about his family and who he really is, and it will awaken something in him that wants to keep others from ending up like him. Of course, that doesn't necessarily mean he'll take the expect Summers path and wear an X.

Needs to Happen: That he is both a Summers and a Cassidy and connect with both parts of his family. Come to terms with his guilt and start living his life, decide if he'll be the next Xavier or Magneto.

Plots: TBD

Ben: The youngest Parker child is, like Cassidy, dealing with life-altering guilt, but unlike Cassidy, the guilt he suffers from isn't is fault. Ben feels that his best friend died in his place and he doesn't know how to live with that, especially when he was starting to like Sidonie as more than friend. Couple that with general teenage confusion on most things and you've got a mess of a kid who is ripe to be manipulated.

Add the Venom Symbiote and you've got a disaster in the making.

Ben will come out of the Venom bit with more guilt than before, but I hope that he'll be able to work his way out of it and become the man he was (hopefully) meant to be.

Needs to Happen: Loss of the Symbiote, development of Spider-powers, possibly becoming Spider-Man

Plots: Sibling Rivalry

Matt Walker: I enjoy mystic-type characters and Matt hasn't disappointed me yet. I'm still working at finding his voice completely, but most of the time, he writes himself. Right now, the Midnight Sons have just finished meeting for the first time, and he's learned that Dracula is his father.

He's going to struggle with that knowledge, as well as the knowledge that his mentor knew and didn't tell him. It's a lot like why Ben Kenobi didn't tell Luke about Vader, in terms of reasoning, but Matt doesn't see that. He's also feeling guilt because Shelly was bitten. There's going to be some fall out from that affecting Matt and I'm hoping to explore more about his magic and why he isn't interested in being Sorcerer Supreme.

Needs to Happen: Facing Dracula again, The Walker Journals, opening a business.

Plots: TBD

Status: Open for scenes.

If Matt is my good-guy mystic, Melissa is definitely the darksider. She usually only comes out when Crosshairs is around, though she is BFF's with May Parker. I'd still like explore the two of them finding out about each other's secret lives, but Melissa still has more issues she can deal with.

She's not a big group person, so joining the Thunderbolts is going to me a real change for her. I'd also like to explore her past in the future and possibly see what she's like if she loses the hood that grants her many of her abilities.

Needs to Happen: Join the Thunderbolts

Plots: TBD

I hate this guy. Not because he's a bad character, but because he actually makes me want to punch him in the face. I like that about him. He's confident, slimy, and hypocritical, all while being certain that he's /right/. A lot of who he is is tied to the rest of the Crittendens, and he's pretty pissed off that he wasn't born one.

Still, he's got influence and a following, and people listen to him, so that makes him dangerous. I'm hoping to see what he'll do if he's ever outed as a mutant, because I think he may become more dangerous then, instead of less.

Needs to Happen: X-Force Plot, Crittenden Stuff

Plots: TBD

Status: Open for scenes.
