Taking a Break
Trying not to worry too much about everything going on, Mac came by the FF's headquarters with a nice little potted sundew plant.

To the casual observer, it might seem as though Andrea was always writing papers. This was technically incorrect, but her course load was writing intensive all the same. Granted, she was sometimes also writing papers when engaged in other activities (useful multitasking skills), but all of this came to a stop when she was informed that Mac was there.

He always warranted her undivided attention.

She came down to see him, giving him a quick kiss and hug. "It is good to see you, Mac. I have missed you."

	And off they go. And cocoa and pastries are acquired. "So the guy has some kind of mental or emotional problems, maybe caused by some outside force, but Doc Vernard and Vincent can't pinpoint it for sure. Andrea drew in a breath. It was not strictly necessary--she did not need to breathe beyond the occasional intake of fresh air to assist her cooling cycle--but it gave her something to do while she gathered her thoughts.

"At a time when I... when we needed him--Franklin had been transported to hell, I had been made human, the world was otherwise falling apart--Vincent chose to stay in Asgard and fight for them, even when given the choice of returning to us."

She frowned. "Perhaps I acted hastily... but at the time, it seemed as though belonging to a people he had not lived among for years was suddenly more important to him than his family."

Mac listens, wide-eyed. "Not that hasty in my book," he says, taking her hand. He knows how badly she took the Human thing. With a huge mess happening on top of that? "Sounds like a pretty darn good sign that the relationship just isn't working out." And now it's his turn to take a breath, both to repress any new pissed-off impulses at Vincent, and to make sure he's saying this next part right. "Andrea, I love my family in Atlantis very much, and I don't always know what'll happen with Avengers stuff, so I can't promise I'll always be there when you need me; but I'll do my best."

Andrea smiles. "It is going well. So far, no one has connected me with the more famous Andrea of the Fantastic Four, other than to note the similarity of names."

Though a few people had been quite curious as to why she did not use contractions.

"I must admit, I feel somewhat guilty. The majority of my general ed classes are quite easy. With my processing capacity and memory, it almost feels like cheating."
