The holiday season had its own party circuit, which meant a good deal of required attendances, fake smiling, and either lining up dates for parties or avoiding debutantes should you go stag. So not exactly his favourite part of the holiday season, especially when you added in the penchant for these sorts of things to get robbed. But the Gotham lot was a jaded one, hell, they bet on which parties would get hit.

Wayne ones had the highest chances. Typical.

At least this particular charity one he didn't hate. The benefit had a medical theme, and of course Wayne Enterprises would be there, Bruce had established the Thomas Wayne Foundation specifically for dealing with medical related things. The foundation was hosting the event to raise money for various organizations, Doctors Without Borders among them. Though tonight he was mostly grateful he'd never changed his name, because god would it be awkward to have the same name as the foundation hosting this thing.

Thomas had on the usual impeccably tailored suit expected of him at these things, and he adjusted the red tie a bit before walking by one of the drink trays and swiping a glass for himself. Long night here, he'd need the drink.

MSF events were one of Barbie's Things. Part of being a Sick Kid, she guessed, and trying to fathom what it must be like to be a Sick Kid and not also a Rich Kid. She always did what she could. Fill the seats, run up the auctions, or, when necessary, stand around sipping cider while dancing and check-cutting happen.

Barbie wore a midnight blue dress that had been carefully adjusted to hide that it was meant for someone taller.
"It's certainly a nice place," she says when she spots Thomas.

He nodded at the turned down offer and took a sip before waving his hand slightly in a 'no no' gesture at the question. "Mm, no, first things first. I was raised with proper manners. So before we get to my cousin..." He gestured to her slightly. "That's a great dress and you look wonderful in it. I do genuinely mean that, otherwise I would've gone with the token 'You look lovely tonight Miss Queen', or if I wasn't a fan 'That's a lovely dress Miss Queen'. But if you had money leaking out your ears pretty much then you'd get the more lavishing 'stunning' descriptor, the I-want-your-money charming smile and slight nod bow."

He chuckled and gave a slight bow at the compliment. "Thanks. And I'm so glad I have that name and not the one plastered on all the banners around here. I'd bet excellent money that if that was the case, every single person I greeted would make a cute joke about it and I'd need to politely smile through them all."

He took another sip of the drink and remembered to answer her initial question. "Oh and Maria is Maria. Maddening, embarrassing, lively, relentlessly teasing, but good fun in general like usual. I've escaped karaoke again with her so far. What about you? How've you been?"

	He finished his drink, they were far too small at these parties, and smoothly left it on a tray of a passing waiter. At her look up, his eyes follows hers and notice the mistletoe, but he doesn't seem bothered. "Protective father or older brothers?" He smirked faintly. "I like to know the risks ahead of time." 	He chuckled a bit, an image of Oliver Queen's disappointed look at a daughter of his and a...crossbow. "Well I'm sure there are worse things to get into. You could always just blame Maria for them," he joked. Though if Queen was disappointed at crossbows....oh he'd pay to see the man's face at his daughter and....batarangs.
